It's A Wrap For Hridayapoorvam, Mohanlal Drops Group Photo
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has officially completed the shooting of the much-awaited film Hridayapoorvam. The movie is directed by veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad, known for his heartfelt family dramas. To share this milestone, Mohanlal took to social media and posted a group photo featuring the entire cast and crew. Along with the picture, he wrote, 'That's a wrap! See you on the big screen. #Hridayapoorvam." This simple message sent his fans into a frenzy as they eagerly awaited his next venture.
The group photo shows everyone involved in the film. Sitting next to Mohanlal in the picture is actress Malavika Mohanan who plays the female lead.
Since Mohanlal's latest updates, fans have been sharing their excitement online.
A fan wrote, 'Waiting another banger." Another said, 'Next blockbuster loading," while someone else wrote, 'Next 100 crore loading."
This film marks another collaboration between Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad. The two have worked together 17 times before which makes Hridayapoorvam their 18th project. Their previous films have been well-loved by audiences especially for their family-friendly stories filled with humour and emotion. It has been nearly a decade since their last film together, Ennum Eppozhum, which came out in 2015.
While the plot of Hridayapoorvam remains under the wraps, it is being described as a family entertainer. The screenplay and dialogues have been written by Sonu T.P. and the story is by Akhil Sathyan. Mohanlal will play the character Sandeep Balakrishnan. The film also features Sangita Madhavan Nair, Sangeeth Prathap, Siddique, Sabitha Anand, Baburaj, Nishan, Lalu Alex, Janardhanan and S.P. Charan. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
In other news, Mohanlal's recent film Thudarum continues to perform exceptionally well at the box office. The film was released on April 25 and it has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in Kerala alone. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, this family drama features Mohanlal as Shanmugham aka 'Benz.' Shobhana is the female lead and a supporting cast includes Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew and Krishna Prabha. Now, in its fourth week, Thudarum continues to draw large audiences and break records.
Back to Hridayapoorvam, the film will reportedly make its theatrical debut on August 28.

The trailer of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's romantic drama Param Sundari was recently launched. The film shows a cross-cultural romance between the two, with Janhvi playing a Malayali girl named Sundari. Even as audiences liked the trailer and showed some love to one scene of her calling out stereotypes against South Indians, many Malayali viewers have pointed out that her character is itself a stereotype. Malayalam singer-actor Pavithra Menon has shared her complaint against Janhvi Kapoor's character in Param Sundari. Pavithra Menon dissects Param Sundari trailer On Wednesday, Malayalam singer-actor Pavithra Menon took to Instagram to call out the film's makers for the stereotypical depiction of Malayalis in Hindi cinema, and questioned why Hindi films can never cast people from Kerala to play locals. "I am Pavithra Menon; I am a Malayali, and I watched the trailer of Param Sundari, and this is what I think," the actor began in a video she posted on her Instagram. The video then showed a portion of the Param Sundari trailer where Janhvi's character introduces herself in heavily accented Hindi: 'Main Thekkapatil Damodaran Sundaram Pillai Kerala se.' "Atleast Malayali dubbing artist would have been better," wrote one. Another added, "I second this, even with the styling too." Many noted that the stereotypical depiction was not limited just to Malayalis when it came to Bollywood. One comment read, "Not only Malayalam but also Bengalis. There is a notion in Bollywood that all the Bengali girls just wear a saree, bindi and kohl. They always sing Tagore's." Box Office: Coolie takes a decent start in Hindi; Rajinikanth & Lokesh Kanagaraj film hits Rs 5 crore on day one
The Rajinikanth-led Coolie has taken a decent start in Hindi with estimates indicating first-day business in the range of Rs 4.50 crore to Rs 5.50 crore. The film faced competition from the Hrithik Roshan and NTR led War 2, but has managed to get some traction in the mass belts to put up a reasonable number. The reports are mixed, which means that a long theatrical run is unlikely, but the makers will be hoping to rake in close to Rs 25 crore over the four-day extended opening weekend. Coolie is looking to rake in Rs 2.50 crore in the top 3 national chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis – which are contributing about 45 percent to 50 percent to the total business. The film has released on about 1400 screens, on 3800 shows in India, having enough capacity to grow on the second day. Coolie has taken the second biggest start for a Tamil film dubbed in Hindi, the top spot is occupied by another Rajinikanth film, 2.0, aided by the presence of Akshay Kumar. The Tamil version also did good business in North India with collections expected to be in the range of Rs 1.75 crore. Talking of Coolie, the film is doing record business outside of North India – be it the domestic belt in Tamil Nadu, or the business internationally and of course, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
