Few things feel better than a full eight hours of sleep, and we all know that a deep, restorative reset can work wonders for both the mind and body.
Studies show that 69 per cent of people are still tired or totally exhausted when they wake up, and nearly one in four people wake up multiple times and struggle to get back to sleep.
If you've tried all kinds of sleeping wonders (think magnesium, calming pillow sprays and sunrise alarm clocks) but had no luck sleeping the whole night through — you may need to call in the experts.
And by experts we mean Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith, founders of the KIC app, a one-stop-shop for exercise classes, nutritious recipes and guided meditations.
Just in time for Sleep Week (beginning August 11), Kic has launched Rest Club in partnership with Aussies favourite homewares brand, Sheet Society.

Featured at the top of the KIC homepage this limited-time Rest Club will be available in the app, showcasing all-new ways to support sleep through meditation, movement, and meals.
Expect to find new meditations and soundscape, gentle stretches and movement that can be done beside, plus a selection of feel-good recipes to promote relaxation — all to help you wind day after a long day and drift off to sleep.
Best yet, with every sleep meditation or soundscape you complete, you'll go in the running to win a $1000 bed reset thanks to Sheet Society.

All you have to do is complete an evening meditation or soundscape. Easy!
Tried and tested
Best Picks writer Holly put Rest Club to the test, to see if the new guided meditations could help her drift off easily.
'Ever since returning from overseas I've struggled to sleep the entire night through, often waking up multiple times, tossing and turning too much.
'As someone who needs a solid eight hours of sleep, I was really keen to try out the Rest Club meditations as I wind down for the evening — in hope they would do the trick.
'So after getting comfortable in bed, I pressed play on Meg's Deep Sleep Meditation, listening to her soothing voice as I focused on my breathe and attempted to clear my mind after a long week.
'She really helped me to notice how much tension I was holding onto and how to let it go before falling asleep, and it must have worked to relax my mind and body as I slept for a solid seven hours.
'Like everything, consistency is key — so I'll be adding Meg's meditations to my evening routines.'

Best weight loss program in Australia: The proven solution helping Aussies shed kilos fast

Struggling for motivation this winter? You're not alone. Dark evenings and cold temperatures make it more tempting than ever to stay indoors and fuel up on carbs. But the arrival of spring in a matter of weeks has Aussies turning to a 'miracle' weight loss program. Offering a solution to shifting stubborn kilos while still eating your favourite foods like pizza, ice cream and doughnuts, this balanced program has been a game-changer for thousands. Train With Ash is a growing online community helps Aussies transform their bodies. One member that had incredible results is 40-year-old mum Lani, who lost a whopping 25kg while eating her favourite foods, including chocolate. After feeling trapped in a cycle of restrictive dieting and gruelling workouts, Leilani joined Train with Ash's Fat Loss Forever program — and never looked back. She uncovered a different approach to weight loss, one that showed her how eating more and training smarter could actually help her shed kilos. Of course she isn't the only one to experience an incredible transformation thanks to Train With Ash. 53-year-old Lisa joined the community back in May 2024 after hitting breaking point. Looking back at her 'before' photo, she sees a woman in pain, hiding behind food, carrying shame and feeling like a failure. But her journey has been incredible, both physically and mentally. Lisa has now rebuilt her confidence, found a peaceful relationship with food and learned how to nourish her body without punishment. Feeling strong, capable and in charge of her future, her journey is more than just a physical transformation. Train With Ash is a growing online community that attracts thousands of people each intake thanks to its balanced nutrition and minimal training approach. Founded by Ash Lane, the multi-million-dollar coaching business changes the lives (and waistlines) of thousands. Unlike traditional programs that rely on restrictions, Train With Ash is designed to fit into the lives of busy, everyday women, especially mums juggling it all. The 12-week weight loss program does this without restriction, deprivation and tactics. Instead, it's centred around your mindset, your fitness and non-restrictive dieting. With the next free five-day challenge beginning September 1 — you could be the next to transform your body and mind. Train With Ash is hugely successful for thousands of Aussies across the country, and was built off Ash's own weight loss journey. — hours in the gym, cutting carbs, skipping cake at birthday parties, and counting every calorie. 'I thought that's what it took to get results,' she tells Best Picks. 'But I was miserable, and the moment I stopped, the weight would come back.' After years of trial, error, and education, Ash discovered the science behind fat loss — and realised women didn't need to live in a cycle of restriction and guilt. Instead of deprivation, women needed sustainable nutrition, minimal but effective training and education — so people understood why this approach works. 'Training? Just three sessions a week — and no, you don't have to live in activewear or cancel dinner with friends to make it work,' Ash says. What started as a small coaching business from Ash's home office is now a massive online movement. Thousands of women around the country are dedicated to Train With Ash, with hundreds sharing their success stories and progress shots. 'I want women to know they can have the body, health, and confidence they want — without giving up the things they love,' Ash says. 'It's not about punishment. Revealed: How Laura Henshaw simplified self-care - and the habits you can actually stick to

By now, we all know the importance of eight hours sleep, regular exercise, a diet consisting mainly of wholefoods and plenty of water. But in a world where we are constantly bombarded by TikTok wellness trends, the latest fitness craze, a new diet or approach, it can be hard not to feel overwhelmed when it comes to self-care — and give up before you really get started. New research backs this up. Leading supplement brand Blackmores found a staggering 63 per cent of Australians say they've lost sight of their original health goals after chasing a new trend, with Gen Z being the most affected. With this in mind, Best Picks sat down with Keep It Cleaner (KIC) CEO Laura Henshaw to discuss the wellness habits that she has learned really work — and the products she swears by. According to Laura, one of the best things to do when you want to be successful with a wellness approach is block out all of the noise: 'I have found that leaning into the seeasons of life and not aiming for a 'perfect' balance makes it a whole lot easier,' she tells Best Picks. 'I focus on doing what I can with what I have each day — sometimes that is just enough time for a five-minute guided breathing meditation, and other days it might be a few hours to get outside in nature with a good book.' This simple practice is what Laura — and Blackmores — define as 'habit stacking'. The idea is easy. You look at one thing you're already doing and 'stack' something else good on top of it. For example, you might already drink a glass of water when you first wake up before you reach for any tea or coffee. The idea of 'habit stacking' is you put something else good and easy on top of that, whether that be gratitude journalling, oil pulling or simply a few deep breaths. Before you know it, you have a full-blown, easy-to-practice wellness regime — and you'll feel and look better for it. 'Don't put pressure on yourself to overhaul your life or make big changes,' Laura says. 'Focus on making small changes (this is also much more sustainable). I find habit stacking works really well for me, and it is a great way to turn something I am already doing into a new habit that supports my health and helps me feel good.' One of Laura's top habits she has 'stacked' on recently to her well-being regime is adding Blackmores' new Rapi-Melt vitamins into her daily routine. Instead of forcing yourself to swallow tablets on the daily, the Rapi-Melts dissolve in your mouth without any water. There are currently four available — Iron, Energy B12, Immune and Nails, Skin and Hair — all of which aim to target different things. 'I love how easy they make it to take vitamins on the go,' Laura tells Best Picks. 'As they dissolve in your mouth, no water is needed and they taste really good too. I keep them in my handbag.' Best weight loss program Australia: The ‘miracle' weight loss program helping Aussies shift stubborn kilos

As we edge through the last remaining weeks of winter and head towards the spring, you wouldn't be alone if your mind is turning towards getting in shape by the time we hit bikini season. But what if you heard there was a 'miracle' weight loss program that could help you to shift stubborn kilos while still eating the foods you love? This was exactly what 40-year-old mum-of-three Erin Bruce was after when she stumbled upon the Train With Ash approach. After years of restrictive diets and gruelling workouts with little success, Erin joined the popular Aussie program in 2020. She did so after hearing founder Ash Lane's balanced approach: eat more, train less, and say yes to ice cream without any guilt. Since then, Erin has lost a staggering 24 kilos — dropping from 85kg to 61kg, while still enjoying pizza and doughnuts. And of course, Erin isn't the only Train With Ash success story. 44-year-old mum of seven Renee Turner was also at breaking point when she tried Train With Ash at the start of 2024. After spending years putting everyone else's needs before her own, she felt exhausted, unhappy with her fitness and no longer recognised the person in the mirror. When she started Train With Ash's free five-day challenge, she embraced weight training for the first time in her life, and since then, Renee has lost 7.5 kilos, taken 12cm off her hips, 10cm off her waist and 6cm off each thigh. 'Do it. Take the risk, you'll never regret doing something for you,' she told Best Picks. Unlike traditional programs that rely on restrictions, Train With Ash is designed to fit into the lives of busy, everyday women, especially mums juggling it all. Founded by Ash Lane, the multi-million-dollar coaching business changes the lives (and waistlines) of thousands joining the 12-week weight loss program. Rather than restriction, deprivation and tactics, Train With Ash focuses on the mindset, fitness and non-restrictive dieting. With a massive online community, transformational results, and a waitlist growing by the day, the program is one of Australia's most impactful women's health programs. Much of why Train With Ash has become such a success story comes from the fact that it was built off Ash's own success with trying something different when it comes to weight loss. When Ash looks back on her twenties, she remembers the grind — hours in the gym, cutting carbs, skipping cake at birthday parties, and counting every calorie. 'Training?
