'Brazen' dealer jailed after police discover over £30,000 in cash and cocaine
The 26-year-old was first arrested back on April 23 this year, after patrolling officers chased him down on Shobnall Street in Burton-on-Trent. He was found in possession of two mobile phones and a significant amount of cash.
Officers later searched a home in East Staffordshire known to be associated with Fahad - where inside they discovered cocaine, crack and cannabis worth around £8,500, along with £32,125 in cash. Drug paraphernalia, including scales and a lock knife were also found.

Fahad was swiftly arrested and summoned to Stafford Crown Court, where he pled guilty to supplying cocaine, possession of criminal property and possession of cannabis. The dealer was jailed, ordered to surrender his drugs and cash, and slapped with a £228 court surcharge.
Speaking following sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Ian Fitzgerald, of the force's major and organised crime department, said: 'Fahad was brazen in his attempt to evade officers and I am pleased that we were able to recover a substantial amount of class A and B drugs.
'We will continue to do all we can to tackle the distribution of illegal drugs in our communities and put those responsible behind bars.'

Council leader concerned protests could be ‘hijacked by agitators'
Warwickshire County Council leader George Finch said he is concerned protests will be 'hijacked by agitators' in Nuneaton amid allegations of a 'cover-up' about suspects charged over an alleged rape. Mr Finch, who is the youngest council leader in the country, released a statement on Friday urging people to act in a 'peaceful manner' at protests expected to take place in the town on Saturday afternoon. A protest has been organised at the Town Hall after two men, reportedly Afghan asylum seekers, were charged by Warwickshire Police over the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton. A Stand Up to Racism protest is also taking place at the Town Hall in Nuneaton on Saturday. Ahmad Mulakhil, 23, was charged with rape, according to Warwickshire Police, while Mohammad Kabir, 23, was charged with kidnap, strangulation and aiding and abetting rape of a girl under 13 after the alleged offence in Nuneaton. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage and Mr Finch claimed there had been a 'cover-up' of details about the alleged rape case by authorities. In a post shared on his Facebook page, Mr Finch wrote: 'I am aware that there are protests planned in Nuneaton tomorrow. 'While the right to peaceful protest is a fundamental right, I am deeply concerned about the risk for these events to be hijacked by agitators who seek to cause disorder and division within our community. 'In other towns, we have seen examples of these protests resulting in violence to police and damage to property. 'These actions have no place in Warwickshire and would damage our community spirit we value so much.' The council leader said people should conduct themselves 'in a peaceful manner and with respect to others in mind', adding that 'our community's reputation is at stake, and we must show that we are better than the chaos that some wish to incite'. Mr Finch's statement concluded: 'If you witness any suspicious or illegal activities, please report them to the police immediately. Together, we can ensure that the town of Nuneaton and Warwickshire as a whole remains a safe place for all its residents. 'Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.' Warwickshire Police chief constable Alex Franklin-Smith said the force 'did not and will not' cover up alleged criminality and had followed national guidance. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has since called for more transparency from police about suspects, and said it was an 'operational decision' for forces and the Crown Prosecution Service over what information to release.

Shop worker fleeced Spar out of £34,000 with stolen scratch cards
A shop worker fleeced a Spar of more than £30,000 through stolen scratch cards. Odin Parry, who had worked at the Spar store on Terrace Road in Aberystwyth since 2015, was caught by fellow staff members after he left multiple scratched scratch cards beside the till during his shift. Prior to that staff had noticed Parry, 39, who had a senior role at the store, had been 'protective' of the till area and would often give more junior staff members at the shop jobs to do far away from the till. On one occasion a staff member reported they'd seen Parry scratching the cards in his car. At a sentencing hearing at Swansea Crown Court on Friday Caitlin Brazel, prosecuting, told the court how after the cards were discovered beside the till managers at the Spar decided to peruse CCTV footage which had shown Parry, from Aberystwyth, had been taking the cards without paying for them from November 2023 to June 2024. He would then manipulate the books at the end of each shift to ensure the accounts were balanced to cover his tracks. The court heard how when staff put the accusations to Parry in June last year he denied involvement, but when staff then showed him the footage they'd collected he responded: 'Well I can't deny it now can I?' When he was arrested by Dyfed-Powys Police officers and was charged with one count of theft and one count of fraud on June 27 last year he said he had 'been stupid', adding: 'I'm going through a lot of s*** at the moment.' He claimed he had always intended to repay the money he had stolen when able. Police estimated the money stolen from the Spar by Parry is in the tens of thousands - £10,000 in physical scratch cards and £33,700 in winnings from the till. A single store can pay out on scratch cards up to the value of £200. Ian Ibrahim, for Parry, said his client, of Green Gardens in Aberystwyth, had no previous convictions and that it could be argued the offending, while drawn out, was not sophisticated given the fact Parry left some of the stolen scratched scratch cards in full view beside the till which ultimately led to him being caught. Mr Ibrahim said Parry had entered guilty pleas to theft and fraud at the earliest opportunity and 'effectively admitted' what he had done on his arrest. 'He put his hands up,' Mr Ibrahim added. 'He is not criminally minded. This case is a year old now and there has been no further offending since.' The court heard Parry suffers with anxiety and depression and remains in 'thousands of pounds of debt'. 'There is no evidence of luxury spending at all,' Mr Ibrahim told Judge Recorder Simon Stephenson. 'He is deeply ashamed.' Mr Ibrahim told the court the defendant, a former forklift truck driver of 14 years, believes he is about to start a delivery driving job for Aberystwyth business Ultracomida. Sentencing Parry in the dock Judge Recorder Stephenson said: 'Between November 2023 and June 2024 you stole National Lottery scratch cards to the value of £10,000 and claimed winnings of £33,700.' Parry was sentenced to 16 months suspended for a year. He must complete 150 hours of unpaid work. Get daily breaking news updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here.
