Irishman stunned as adults 'shove past kids in sunbed war' at Spanish hotel

Dozens of holidaymakers have been spotted sprinting to bag a sunbed at a Spanish holiday resort – with even a 12-year-old boy joining in to nab the first one.
Mark Hunter was shocked to see the chaos unfold from his hotel balcony. The 38-year-old watched on as determined holiday-goers raced for a lounger with their towels in tow as the pool gates opened.
One woman tripped over a chain barrier near the edge of the frame but quickly recovered, while others weaved past her in the dash.

Mark, a corporate manager from Ireland, filmed the clip at Hotel Playas de Torrevieja at around 9.54am on Friday, while on holiday with his wife Tara and their son Jake.
'I was shocked to see grown adults reduced to scrambling for sun beds,' he told Luxury Travel Daily, while describing the 'sunbed war'. 'It is exactly the same every morning — there are grown adults pushing past children to get a sun bed by the pool.' After watching the chaos unfold, Mark's 12-year-old son asked if he could take part the next morning. He added: 'My little boy did want to be involved in the chaos the next morning as he thought it looked fun. We did let him queue and he was the fastest to a sunbed!'
Mark shared the clip on TikTok, where it has left viewers stunned with over 2,400 likes so far.
Ken said: 'What's the point, I just don't get it.' Kat added: 'I can't believe this is real'. '
The child getting cleaned out by the barrier,' Tara said. Another viewer, Jason, seemed lost for words and simply commented with three crying laughing emojis.

We sold our modern, bling UK home & bought a ‘huge' house with a pool & gym in Spain for £100k less – it's paradise

The family were able to significantly reduce their outgoings thanks to the move HOUSE THAT? We sold our modern, bling UK home & bought a 'huge' house with a pool & gym in Spain for £100k less – it's paradise A MUM who quit life in the UK has showed off her incredible new Spanish home, which features a pool and gym. She waved goodbye to their life and drove all the way to Alicante, Spain, along with her husband, two teens, three dogs and cat. 2 The mum showed off the garden around the home on TikTok Credit: tiktok/@gbfitnessuk2spain 2 There was even a separate space for an outdoor gym and kitchen Credit: tiktok/@gbfitnessuk2spain Now, the mum has been sharing their journey on TikTok under the username @gbfitnessuk2spain - and their new home has left people stunned. In the viral video, the she gave a tour of the outside of the property, which spanned over many acres. Once you come through the main gates to the house there's a huge drive way with two paths you can follow - one that leads to the huge garage and the other to the house. "There's two parts to the garage," the mum explained. "One is totally full and I didn't have the key and this bit at the moment we're just storying wood, but we will make a games room in there," she added. The mum noted that the garden is still a work in progress, and one of the next things they plan on doing is adding more trees for shade. The open space had a patio area with seating, and a huge pool, which the mum said they will eventually add sun loungers around. The pool area even has an outside shower and an area just for table tennis. There's even more space for the kids to have fun, as around the corner from the pool is a huge trampoline and a bowls area. And the family have already go to work in creating an outdoor gym, and an outdoor kitchen. I ditched the UK & bought a house for the same price as a summer holiday As she continued to walk around the property it was clear there was plenty of space to do whatever they wanted with the land. In a previous clip, the mum explained they sold their four bedroom house in the UK, despite it being "perfect". "Back in the UK you feel like you're just working to pay the bills, so the reason we sold it was to be able to move to Spain and buy a cheaper house to get rid of the mortgage and have less outgoings," she said. In fact, the mum revealed they sold their UK home for £100k more than the price of their Spanish pad. In time, the mum said she hopes to replicate the "very modern, very bling" style of their old home, but there's a lot of work to do. But after showing off the new digs people couldn't believe how much bag she got for her buck. One commented: "So much property and land for your money over there, you can see why so many people do it." "I'm tired just watching [the video] it's huge! Looks absolutely amazing hun," a second wrote. And a third said: "You literally need an Uber to get around the garden, it's lovely though." Not everyone was impressed with the family's new pad though as one person pointed out: "See, this is this is the issue with you Spanish foreigners at the moment. "To YOU, with your English money, the houses seem cheap, to us they're just a pipe dream, an unreachable goal due to how incredibly expensive houses are when you're earning Spanish wages. "Soon there won't be any Spanish homeowners and this is what's causing so much hate (even though technically it's not your fault.)"

Guinness World Record for biggest céilí band set in Wexford

A brand new Guinness World Record for the biggest céilí band has officially been set at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Wexford. On Thursday at Chadwick's Wexford Park, the Guinness World Record for the Biggest Céilí Band was smashed when 1,018 musicians from across Ireland, Europe and the world gathered under the watchful eye of Glen Pollard, who adjudicated the attempt. The Wexford record was attended by musicians from countries including the USA, France, Japan, UK and Canada. Instruments included tin whistles, fiddles, concertina, accordion, banjo, guitar, mandolin, drums, piano and uilleann pipes, to name a few. Unsurprisingly, following last year's successful record for the largest tin whistle ensemble, the tin whistle was the most prevalent instrument played today. The previous record for the largest céilí band was 384 people, and was set by The Late Late Show, at Croke Park, in Dublin, on March 15, 2024.
