From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina' box office collections day 6: Ana De Armas starrer collects Rs 8.35 crores

'From the World of John Wick: Ballerina', starring Ana de Armas , continues its steady run at the Indian box office, earning a total of ₹8.35 crore (India Net) over six days. The action thriller, which is part of the globally popular 'John Wick' franchise, seems to be finding a niche audience in India, with decent weekend collections and relatively stable weekday numbers. Strong Weekend Pushes Numbers According to the Sacnilk website, the film opened with ₹1.73 crore on its first Friday, with the English version contributing ₹1.25 crore, followed by Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil dubs. Positive word of mouth and the franchise connection helped the film rise sharply on Saturday with a 54.34% jump, collecting ₹2.67 crore. Sunday brought in ₹2.35 crore, indicating strong interest among action movie lovers and John Wick fans. Steady Hold on Weekdays Despite a steep drop on weekdays, Ballerina managed to hold its ground with ₹0.8 crore collections on both Monday and Tuesday. Though the Wednesday numbers haven't been confirmed yet, early trends suggest no major spike or decline, keeping the total stable at ₹8.35 crore. While the weekday collections aren't as strong, the film's genre appeal and franchise branding have helped maintain interest, especially among urban audiences and multiplex-goers. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cervecería Nacional CFD: Calcula cuánto podrías ganar invirtiendo solo $100 Empieza a invertir Inscríbete ahora Undo The Franchise Effect and Ana de Armas' Rise Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, Ballerina marks the fifth installment in the John Wick universe and is set between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4. Ana de Armas plays Eve Macarro, a ballerina-turned-assassin out for revenge. The film also features Keanu Reeves , Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Norman Reedus , Gabriel Byrne , and the late Lance Reddick in his final screen appearance. ETimes review for the film reads, "For fans of Keanu Reeves and the franchise, of course he's there but he lets the girl fight her own battles without stealing her thunder. Eve isn't spared because she's a girl. She is kicked around, beaten black and blue but never defeated. She rises like a ballerina with an unflinching resolve while pinning her nemesis beneath her toe. She isn't robotic and yet lethal in her flight of fire. Eve stands tall in the world she creates, beyond the John Wick universe." From the World of John Wick: Ballerina - Official Trailer

Robin Wright was denied equal pay in 'House of Cards': Didn't have Oscar

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actor Robin Wright, who essayed the role of Claire Underwood in the popular series "House of Cards", had a hard time demanding equal pay as her co-star, Kevin Spacey, as she didn't have an Oscar. "House of Cards" premiered on 2013 and ran for six seasons till 2018. Created by Beau Willimon, the series was an adaptation of Michael Dobbs's novel "House of Cards". Wright, also known for her work in projects such as "The Princess Bride" and "Forrest Gump", said David Fincher, who directed the first two episodes of the show first pitched the project to her. "When David Fincher introduced 'House of Cards' to me, he said: 'This is going to be the future, it's going to be look where we are now," the actor said according to the entertainment news outlet Variety. The 59-year-old actor admitted it was "difficult" to get equal pay unlike Spacey, who was an Academy Award winner. "Yes, it was difficult. I am going to be honest. When I said, 'I think it's only fair because my character became as popular as (Spacey's), they said 'We can't pay you the same as an actor, so we will make you exec producer and you can direct. We will give you three different paychecks.' I asked, 'Why can't you pay me as an actor?' 'Because you didn't win an Academy Award.'" Wright added being angry "wasn't going to change anything". "That has been the protocol for years - it just is. If you say, 'Why did so-and-so female not get the same amount as Will Smith?' They say, 'It will increase after you win.' Nomination, not so does it have to do anything with a raise," she added. "House of Cards" revolved around Frank Underwood (Spacey), a democrat appointed as the Secretary of State, along with his wife, played by Wright. He then sets out on a quest to seek revenge from those who betrayed him while he was successfully rising to supremacy. The series also featured Kate Mara, Rachel Brosnahan and Kristen Connolly.
