His Highness Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the 4th Make it in the Emirates Forum, taking place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, on Monday.
The event is organised by ADNEC Group and hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and ADNOC Group.
Sheikh Khaled toured the exhibition, and visited the pavilions of several international, national and local participating companies and entities showcasing advanced technology solutions tailored to accelerate growth in key industrial sectors and reinforce the UAE's position as a regional and global hub for future-ready industries.
Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed underscored the UAE's commitment to developing industrial sectors as a cornerstone of sustainable development and a central pillar of economic diversification.
He emphasised the importance of increasing the industrial sector's contribution to GDP in line with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology - Operation 300bn, and the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy, aiming to further enhance the competitiveness of vital industries and build an innovative, knowledge based and transformative economy.
The 4th Make it in the Emirates Forum continues to position the UAE as a leading hub for industrial excellence and innovation by showcasing the investment opportunities within the UAE's competitive industrial ecosystem and the incentives offered by the national economy to foster strategic partnerships across priority sectors.
During the visit, he was accompanied by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs; Mariam Bint Mohammed Almheiri, Head of the International Affairs Office at the Presidential Court; Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Crown Prince's Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC; and Syed Basar Shueb, CEO and Managing Director of International Holding Company (IHC).
Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, affirmed that the UAE has made significant strides in diversifying its national economy and strengthening its global and regional competitiveness, under the guidance of its wise leadership.
As a result, non-oil sectors now account for 74.6 per cent of the country's real GDP.
He highlighted that the industrial sector is one of the key drivers of economic growth and diversification and that it plays a pivotal role in achieving the national goal to double the country's GDP to Dhs 3 trillion by the next decade in line with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision.
In this context, he said: 'The transformative industries sector contributed 11.3 per cent to the UAE's real GDP during the first nine months of 2024, reaching Dhs 149.4 billion, marking an increase of 2.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2023.
Its contribution to the country's non-oil GDP exceeded 15 per cent during this period.' He continued: 'The sector is expected to contribute Dhs 193 billion to the national economy in 2024. By the end of 2022, it had attracted approximately Dhs 40 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), accounting for seven per cent of the UAE's total FDI.' He affirmed that the 'Make it in the Emirates' platform reinforces the industry's role as a key pillar of national economic diversification and global competitiveness.
He further highlighted the significance of continued collaboration between public and private sector entities to accelerate digital transformation across industries, supporting the development of a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy while also driving sustainable economic development.
The Minister of Economy noted that the Forum is a local and regional platform with growing influence in advancing global industrial growth.

RAK Ceramics' revenue grew 6.4% YoY to Dhs826.8 million in Q2

RAK Ceramics PJSC announced its financial results for the second quarter ended 30th June 2025. Total revenue increased by 6.4% YoY to Dhs826.8 million and by 2.9% to Dhs1.6 billion in H1 2025 as a result of strong demand from the UAE and Middle East as well as effective cost management. In Q2 2025, the gross profit margin increased by 110bps to 40.6% YoY and in H1 2025, it increased by 70bps to 40.2%, driven by enhanced operational efficiencies which have contributed to higher gross profit margin, reinforcing RAK Ceramic's market leadership. EBITDA increased by 17.5% to Dhs160.8 million in Q2 2025 compared to Dhs 136.9 million in the same period last year. Similarly, in H1 25 EBITDA increased by 2.9% to Dhs296.4 million, while EBITDA margins have increased by 1.9% to 19.5% in Q2 2025 up from 17.6% in Q2 2024. In H1 2024, EBITDA margin remained consistent at 18.5%. Profit before tax increased by 45.0% YoY to Dhs86.7 million, compared to Dhs59.8 million in Q2 2024. Net profit after tax increased by 30.1% YoY to Dhs66.4 million, compared to Dhs51.0 million in Q2 2024. In line with the increased profitability across the businesses. UAE Corporate tax was Dhs17.2 million in Q2 2025, up from Dhs6.5 million in Q2 2024. Net debt position rose by Dhs120.6 million to reach Dhs1.56 billion in Q2 2025, compared to Q1 2025, primarily driven by increased capital expenditure and working capital requirements. Commenting on the results, Abdallah Massaad, Group CEO, RAK Ceramics, said, "I'm pleased to report that Q2 2025 delivered solid revenue growth alongside strong operational performance, a reflection of the strength and adaptability of RAK Ceramics across the globe. EBITDA increased 59.6 per cent to Dhs245.5m, while net profit rose 18.8 per cent to Dhs209.7m. Q2 revenue climbed 53.5 per cent to Dhs 523.9m, with organic growth accounting for 19.7 per cent. Quarterly EBITDA rose 45.5 per cent to Dhs104.5m and net profit was up 11.5 per cent at Dhs89.7m, reflecting the impact of the 15 per cent corporate tax rate. International markets contributed 26.8 per cent of Q2 revenue, up sharply from 4.9 per cent a year earlier. New orders worth Dhs304 m brought the backlog to Dhs3.7bn, more than triple last year's level. The company ended the period with Dhs2bn in cash and no debt. Presight upgrades guidance Citing strong performance, a robust order backlog and a growing share of multi-year contracts, Presight raised its compound annual growth guidance for 2023-2027: Group revenue growth of 21 to 27 per cent (previously 19 to 25 per cent) Group EBITDA growth of 17 to 22 per cent (previously 16 to 21 per cent) Group post-tax profit growth of 7 to 12 per cent at a 15 per cent tax rate (previously 6 to 11 per cent) Contract wins and overseas push In the UAE, Presight signed contracts with the National Media Office and the Media Council, and agreed a strategic cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy to develop an AI-powered energy and water management platform for nationwide deployment. Internationally, the company advanced its growth agenda in Asia and Africa. In Malaysia, it reached a landmark deal supporting the Madani AI initiative, while in Uganda it prepared to roll out a national digital government programme. Presight also opened an office in Astana, Kazakhstan, expanding energy sector partnerships via its majority-owned AIQ unit. 'Our first-half performance demonstrates that Presight continues to grow both domestically and internationally,' said CEO Thomas Pramotedham. 'Our backlog is three times larger than it was a year ago, and our sovereign partnerships continue to deepen. 'Our international expansion across high-growth markets in the Middle East, Asia and Africa… continues to be a material part of our growth trajectory. With disciplined execution, new AI platforms coming to market and a deep pool of talent, we are on track to meet our commercial objectives and to compete on a global stage.' Innovation and new initiatives During the period, Presight launched the first cohort of its AI-Startup Accelerator and, after the reporting period, rolled out a series of initiatives including an AI-Policing Suite in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police. It also agreed a joint venture with the Central Bank of the UAE to develop sovereign AI-native financial infrastructure, and signed an MoU with Dow Jones to create AI-driven risk and compliance solutions for global financial institutions, regulators and sovereign entities. With a debt-free balance sheet and strategic global partnerships, Presight said it is positioned for continued growth by delivering sovereign AI solutions more quickly, deepening client relationships and driving value in key markets. The company's applied intelligence solutions could benefit from expanding UAE-US technology collaboration and the UAE's AI partnerships aimed at advancing global communities.
