Second World War bomber returns home for 80th anniversary
The Avro Lancaster performed flypasts over Broughton, North Wales, alongside Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane fighters before landing at the Airbus wing building factory on Friday evening.
The aircraft was built in May 1945 during the Broughton site's early years as a shadow factory for manufacturing bombers.
The Lancaster PA474, which is owned and operated by the RAF's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, was the star of the recent VE Day celebrations, leading the ceremonial flypast over London.
The Officer Commanding the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Squadron Leader Mark Sugden, said: 'Our flying season so far this year has been memorable with the VE Day celebrations, but this is one of the highlights of the year in a visit that takes our incredible aircraft back to her birthplace.'

Natalie Gray drops into food bank in Gorleston A stricken oil tanker, which was involved in a crash with a cargo ship in the North Sea, has come to the aid of a community food bank and kitchen. The Stena Immaculate was struck by the Portuguese-owned Solong off the coast of East Yorkshire in March, causing a massive fire and leaving one sailor missing, presumed dead. The Stena was later towed into the port of Great Yarmouth in April for repairs. Volunteers from the St Mary Magdalene Church food bank in Gorleston, Norfolk, say they were invited to the stricken tanker to collect frozen meat. Eight freezers packed with meat were salvaged, thought to be worth thousands of pounds. The Reverend Matthew Price, from St Mary Magdalene Church, said, 'It doesn't happen every day, it's extraordinary. It's going to make a massive difference to what happens here. "It was clearly a tragic accident, but for something good to come of that is really beautiful. "The Christian faith is all about good coming out of bad, resurrection, new life, and there's something of that I think in what we see here. "A terrible accident out in the sea has brought good to our community here in Gorleston." Chef Lottie Eaton at St Mary Magdalene Church said he couldn't believe it. "I got very excited because I'm very much a meat-eater," he said. "We went to the ship and literally filled the van as full as we could. There was just so much variety and range, it's not something we've been given before. "It's something good coming from something bad." The church believes the donation will keep their Tuesday lunch club going for several months.

Death of RAF corporal investigated by MoD and Lincolnshire Police
The Ministry of Defence is investigating the death of an RAF dog handler alongside the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Rebecca Hudson, 32, from Stourport, died on 23 Police said it attended an incident on 18 May at an RAF site in Kirkby Lane, Tattershall Thorpe, in which a 32-year-old woman suffered "serious injuries" following "a collision" with a was airlifted to hospital but died five days later. The East Midlands Ambulance Service said after receiving a call at 15:23 on 18 May it sent a paramedic, a LIVES emergency responder and an ambulance. The air ambulance also attended. "One patient was taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham via air ambulance," it RAF police dog training facility is located on Kirkby Lane. The HSE said it would be investigating the incident "alongside the relevant authorities".A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said it was supporting the coroner's office with its inquiries."As investigations are ongoing, we cannot comment further at this stage and ask the media and public to avoid speculation as this could cause additional distress to Cpl Hudson's family, friends and colleagues," they added. 'Sorely missed' In a statement, the RAF described Cpl Hudson as "devoted to her dogs and her teammates" and said she would be "sorely missed".Gp Capt Samantha Bunn, provost marshal and commander air security force, said: "The tragic loss of Cpl Bec Hudson has been profoundly felt by every single member of the RAF Police. Airbus procurement chief to move to India role, no successor named
PARIS, June 4 (Reuters) - The top supply chain executive at planemaker Airbus ( opens new tab, procurement chief Juergen Westermeier, has been appointed to run the group's operations in India and South Asia from Sept 1, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters. His successor is "subject to further notice," the memo said. Airbus declined to comment on internal appointments. A person close to the company said the move was not linked to the recent supply chain situation which had in any case begun to stabilise.
