Paris Saint-Germain opens title defense with Narrow win over Nantes
Paris – Saba: Paris Saint-Germain began their Ligue 1 title defense with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Nantes on Sunday evening in the opening round of the French top-flight. It was not an easy win for Luis Enrique's men, who showed signs of fatigue after their intense effort in the UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur, which they won. The first half saw PSG dominate possession and press hard for a breakthrough, but the score remained goalless at halftime. In the second half, Portuguese midfielder Vitinha finally broke the deadlock, securing the only goal of the match and giving PSG some relief. Another Portuguese, Gonçalo Ramos, later found the net, but his goal was ruled out for offside, leaving the defending champions with a slim 1-0 victory.
