After a rainy and chilly day (for May) on Friday, the weekend will return to sunshine and mild temps.
It's now looking to stay dry for the Lung Force Walk Saturday morning, and then even warmer for Mother's Day Sunday, with highs near 80 degrees, a beautiful day for Mother's Day Brunch outdoors!

Taste of Syracuse vendors prepare for rain
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The unofficial start to summertime in Syracuse is right around the corner. Day one of the Taste of Syracuse kicks off at 11 a.m. Friday morning. 'When I first started doing it, they would have five, ten thousand people…now, it's well over 200,000…it's just insane,' Robin Casper, the only alcoholic vendor, said. Codi Lisi, owner of Punch'd, said every year draws in more and more eclectic crowds. '…to see, in the last couple of years, everybody just kind of comes together,' Lisi said. 'Rain or shine, hot or overcast…just to watch everybody from the community come out in every different form.' But with rain in the forecast, vendors came prepared with their weather gear a day before the festival. 'Even the littlest bit of rain isn't going to do anything…at least from anybody that I've talked to that's venturing out here,' he said. 'So, we're ready, no big deal, we're good to go.' Zach Marji, owner of Fair Deli and Chocolate Taps, spent his afternoon attaching walls of tarp to his tents in preparation. 'Rain is going to happen one way or the other, whether we like it or not,' Marji said. 'We're stocking up with raincoats and we're just going to give it the best we can.' As for manning nine different tents that sell exclusively alcohol, Casper said he is ready for whatever comes his way because he has been at the Taste for over 25 years. 'Well, we serve alcohol! PITTSBURGH — Framber Valdez pitched seven strong innings, Isaac Paredes homered twice, and the Houston Astros beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-2 after a lengthy rain delay on Thursday night. Valdez (6-4) won his fifth straight decision by limiting the Pirates to two runs on five hits with three walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts after waiting out the delay that pushed the start of the game back 3 hours and 22 minutes. The left-hander is now 5-0 with a 1.72 ERA in his last six starts.

Pirates fall to Astros with 8-2 loss following lengthy rain delay
Framber Valdez pitched seven strong innings, Isaac Paredes homered twice, and the Houston Astros beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-2 after a lengthy rain delay on Thursday night. Valdez (6-4) won his fifth straight decision by limiting the Pirates to two runs on five hits with three walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts after waiting out the delay that pushed the start of the game back 3 hours and 22 minutes. The left-hander is now 5-0 with a 1.72 ERA in his last six starts. Paredes hit his 13th homer of the season leading off the fourth against Mitch Keller (1-8). His 14th, a two-run shot in the ninth, put the game away. Jeremy Peña added three hits and drove in a run for the Astros. The shortstop is batting .361 since moving to the leadoff spot on April 27. Jake Melton, who made his major league debut last weekend against Tampa Bay, had two hits, including a two-run single against Keller in the fourth. Keller had been pitching well despite receiving the lowest run support in the majors. The right-hander wasn't quite as crisp against the Astros, giving up six runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings as his ERA crept up to 4.19. Jared Triolo had two hits and scored twice for the Pirates, who have dropped four of six. The Pirates were down two and had runners on the corners with two outs in the fifth when Valdez fanned Andrew McCutchen on a curveball. 9 — the number of runs Pittsburgh has scored in Keller's last starts. Astros: head to Cleveland for a three-game weekend series starting Friday when Colton Gordon (0-1, 5.95 ERA) faces Cleveland's Logan Allen (3-3, 4.22).
