The 5 greatest Masters champions dinner menus of all time

Yahoo08-04-2025

It's one of the better Masters traditions: every year, the previous winner of the green jacket puts together a dinner menu for all the champions to attend the Tuesday before the major at Augusta the next year.
We've seen some incredible offerings, from Spanish tapas to a Japanese-themed menu. But which ones are the best of the best? Glad you asked. We decided to do an all-time top-five of the GOAT menus that we've seen over the years as we get ready for another year of Masters champions dinner goodness.
MASTERS PICKS:
Let's go from No. 5 to the best menu we've ever seen:
A menu can be simple. And this one is simple and perfect: Texas BBQ, some solid veggie sides and a chocolate chip cookie a la mode at the end.

This is gourmet stuff right here. Maybe it should be higher.

Am I biased because it's Tiger? No. It's because it's sushi AND steak AND fajitas AND three desserts!

I just love this one because it's different! And maybe because Moreton Bay Bugs are ... lobsters! Just imagine the champions' eyes, er, bugging out when they saw that.

It's got everything: volume (burgers AND shrimp AND tortilla soup AND fish or steak AND a cookie!), creativity and mystery -- we finally found out what "Scottie-style" sliders are!

ESPN announce Lee Corso's final College GameDay will be Texas at Ohio State in Week 1

ESPN announce Lee Corso's final College GameDay will be Texas at Ohio State in Week 1 Lee Corso's final ESPN College GameDay will feature the Texas Longhorns. ESPN has announced the 2025 debut of the popular college football pregame show will be in Columbus, OH on Aug. 30 for the Longhorns visit to the Horseshoe to take on Ohio State. The show will also be Corso's last chance to make a headgear pick. ESPN revealed earlier this year Corso would be retiring after Week 1 of the 2025 season. ESPN will use the episode to honor Corso's 38 college football seasons on the air. "Special programming honoring and celebrating Corso's career will be present throughout the Week 1 show in addition to the GameDay crew previewing the 2025 season and all the action of the kickoff Saturday slate," ESPN disclosed. "The season-opening episode will be located in its traditional spot on Ohio State's campus before finishing the show inside 'The Shoe' where Corso will make his final headgear pick in front of 100,000 fans ahead of the Buckeyes' noon kick." Ironically, Corso's first headgear pick was also in Columbus back in 1996. 'My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College GameDay for nearly 40 years,' Corso, who will turn 90 in August, said in a statement. 'I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.' 'ESPN has been exceptionally generous to me, especially these past few years," Corso added. "They accommodated me and supported me, as did my colleagues in the early days of College GameDay. Special thanks to Kirk Herbstreit for his friendship and encouragement. And lest I forget, the fans…truly a blessing to share this with them. ESPN gave me this wonderful opportunity and provided me the support to ensure success. I am genuinely grateful.' College GameDay will go live at 8 a.m. CT on ESPN on Aug. 30. The first two hours of the show will be broadcast from outside St. John Arena while the crew will move inside Ohio Stadium for the final hour of the show. FOX's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will also be in Columbus for Ohio State vs. Texas as FOX will broadcast the game on its national network at noon.

2025 U.S. Open picks, odds: Four first-round leader bets for Oakmont

The 2025 U.S. Open gets underway Thursday morning at Oakmont Country Club just outside of Pittsburgh. The oddsmakers believe it'll take something really special to outlast Scottie Scheffler (+280), Bryson DeChambeau (+700), Rory McIlroy (11/1), and Jon Rahm (12/1) over the course of 72 holes, but things change when you change the ask to just 18 holes. That's why the first-round leader market is so much fun, especially at majors. Just about anybody in this field can get hot enough to post the best score after just one round of golf, especially at a course like Oakmont, which is widely considered to be one of the toughest on the circuit. 2025 U.S. Open picks: First-round leader bets Justin Rose (65/1, FanDuel) There seem to be plenty of similarities between Oakmont and Augusta. It's a difficult course that requires you to be precise off the tee and, even then, you need to overcome some lightning-fast greens. It just so happens that Justin Rose, the 2013 U.S. Open champion, has been the first-round leader twice at the Masters. Rose has struggled since losing a dramatic playoff against McIlroy at the Masters in April, but his game should translate well to Oakmont, where you need to be equal parts clever and pragmatic to contend. Justin Rose during a practice round at Oakmont. Bill Streicher-Imagn Images Dustin Johnson (80/1, DraftKings) Nine years ago, Dustin Johnson won his first major at the 2016 U.S. Open here at Oakmont. DJ is not the player he was back then, but his form on LIV has been decent, with a pair of top-10 finishes in his last three outings. Johnson should be as confident as any golfer in this field ahead of Round 1, let's hope that shows up on his scorecard. Denny McCarthy (80/1, Caesars) He's still searching for his first win on the PGA Tour, but Denny McCarthy has the ability to get scorching hot without much notice thanks to his elite ability with the putter. The greens at Oakmont are expected to be full of twists and turns, so it makes sense to find a way to back one of the world's best putters in some fashion. McCarthy is unlikely to have the game to win this tournament, but perhaps his putter can propel him to the top of the leaderboard after Thursday. Dustin Johnson won his first major at the 2016 U.S. Open. Getty Images Phil Mickelson (110/1, FanDuel) A course like Oakmont is a field-leveler. You can't just show up and overpower it. You need to be calculated, crafty, and creative. That gives players like Phil Mickelson a chance to make some noise. Whether he can do it over 72 holes against this field is an entirely different question, but Mickelson clearly has some magic left in his locker. He is coming off a T4 at LIV Virginia, and has three finishes of sixth or better this season on the renegade tour.
