SCR General Manager inspects Vijayawada, Gunadala railway stations

South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain inspected the Vijayawada railway station on May 2 (Friday). He was accompanied by Narendra A. Patil, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division, and other senior division officials.
Mr. Arun Kumar inspected passenger amenities, traffic facilities, safety aspects, foot over-bridges, and the functioning of water troughs on Platform No. 6. He verified the crew lobby, interacted with the loco pilots and staff and enquired about their problems. He also inspected the passenger amenities on Platform No. 1.
When Train No. 22851 Santragachi–Mangaluru Express arrived in the station, the General Manager boarded the train and checked the onboard house keeping service, cleanliness and rake maintenance., and directed the officials to attend to the watering and hygiene complaints promptly.
Mr. Arun Kumar also visited the Summer Kiosk set up on the platform to distribute water and butter milk to passengers and commended the service taken up by the Vijayawada Division Scouts and Guides and volunteers.
Later, the General Manager proceeded to the Gunadala railway station by a self-propelled inspection car, and conducted rear window inspection of the track safety aspects. He also inspected the ongoing Amrit Bharat Station (ABSS) redevelopment works taken up at the Gunadala station at a cost of ₹24.37 crore, which includes a 12-metre foot over-bridge, platform surface improvements, additional cover over platform, two lifts, waiting hall, improvements to façade building and circulating area.
Mr. Arun Kumar discussed in detail the ongoing works and directed officials to complete the redevelopment works on time.

The achievement reflects the division's ongoing focus on safety, reliability, and excellence, setting a benchmark within the SCR zone and reinforcing its leadership in modern railway infrastructure.

SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain has asked his top managers to strengthen track patrolling by deploying additional RPF and track patrolling staff at all identified vulnerable sections at tracks, bridges and locations with heavy rainfall to prevent unsafe conditions. In addition, they should also identify the miscreants' activities to ensure track safety. Safety drives should be taken up in view of monsoon for strict implantation of the safety procedures to ensure safety in train operations, he said. Proper working of signalling system should be checked to avoid the unexpected failures during the rainy season. Strict cordination should be maintained in train operations and all safety precautions especially passengers safety at all levels by inspecting assets, said the GM. The standard protocols at level crossing gates has to be adhered to and the availability of CCTVs over the zone, including private sidings, was discussed to ensure security and transparency. Earlier, Mr. Arun Kumar Jain had launched a new version- 2.0 of e-DAS (Electronic Drawing Approval System) which will be helpful to maintain database related to engineering drawings and help full for approvals by the competent authority. This will promote paperless working, saves time and money, said a press release.

Hyderabad: As part of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway conducted essay writing, drawing and painting competitions with the themes 'Mera Amrit Station' and 'Operation Sindoor – Veertha Ki Misaal'. These competitions were held for two days, i.e. on May 18 and 19 at various schools in Begumpet, Warangal, Ramagundam and Karimnagar, wherein a total of 170 students enthusiastically participated. According to SCR officials, at Begumpet, the competitions were held at St John's High School and Dawn Bud's High School, where a total of 75 students participated. At Warangal, the competitions were held at the Railway Institute, Kazipet where a total of 70 students from different schools such as Delhi Public School, Kazipet; St. Gabriel High School, Kazipet; Kendriya Vidyalaya High School, Kazipet & Resonance College, Kazipet participated. At Ramagundam and Karimnagar, over 25 students from different schools took part in the competitions. Three prizes (1st, 2nd & 3rd) in each category, along with mementos & certificates will be presented to the winners on the day of inauguration of Amrit Stations by the Chief Guest at the respective locations. Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR, stated that such competitions help in nurturing the creativity and enhancing the vision of the students on how they perceive the various facets of developed India and how Railways will be a part of it.
