Cowboys fan Denzel Washington blasts owner Jerry Jones amid Micah Parsons contract dispute
The Cowboys are coming off a massively disappointing season where quarterback Dak Prescott got injured early and the team missed the playoffs entirely.
Now, most of this offseason has been defined by the team's ongoing battle with pass rusher Micah Parsons - who is trying to get himself a contract extension.
Those discussions have been icy - with Jones and his son, Stephen, delivering subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) shots at Parsons throughout the negotiation process. Parsons, in turn, has filed a trade request.
Washington joined 'First Take' alongside friend and movie maker Spike Lee to promote an upcoming flick: 'Highest 2 Lowest'.
Seeing as he was on a sports show, Washington took the chance to address the owner of his favorite football team.

'There's box office, and there's Oscars, Jerry. Been a while, huh? Ain't been to the show, you wouldn't know... what it is to win,' Washington said while staring daggers into the camera.
'And I love the Cowboys, I love the Cowboys. Because I really love them, this is why I feel the way I feel.'
Washington then pivoted to try and discuss the movie more, but host Stephen A. Smith got another comment about Dallas out of the 'Training Day' actor
'What's it say down the bottom of the movie [poster]: All money ain't good money, Jerry. All money ain't good money,' Washington said while Lee hyped him up.
Last week, fans at the team's training camp the following day voiced their displeasure with that latest development as they chanted Parsons' name.
Attendees at the practice in Oxnard, California - which Jones was present at - could at one point could be heard loudly chanting 'We want Micah!'
Other fans brought signs to camp urging Jones to pay the four-time Pro Bowler, with one supporter even bringing a sign which read 'sell the team!'
Jones downplayed Parsons' trade request after practice and urged fans not to 'lose any sleep' over the situation.
'I think the world of Micah,' he said. 'And that [request] is just a part of negotiation.'
Jones added to reporters that the pair had agreed to a deal in March, but that Parsons had later taken the offer off of the table.
Parsons, for his part, said that prior conversation began with the pair talking about 'leadership' before contract talks were brought up, and that he did not walk away from the conversation believing an official agreement had been struck.
'Yes, I engaged in a back and forth in regards to what I wanted from my contract, but at no point did I believe this was supposed to be a formal negotiation and I informed Mr. Jones afterward my agent would reach out thinking this would get things done,' he wrote in a statement shared on X.

Hulk Hogan 's estranged daughter Brooke got visibly emotional while out with her family in Orlando on Tuesday night following the recent and sudden loss of her dad. Just weeks after her father died of a heart attack at age 71, the TV personality, 37, looked caught up in grief as tears rolled down her face during a walk with her husband Steven Oleksy and their seven-month-old twins, Oliver and Molly. Oleksy, a retired ice hockey player, sweetly comforted his wife by wrapping his arm around her waist as he pushed their little ones' stroller down the sidewalk. Brooke, who went 'no contact' with both her parents prior to the WWE legend's passing, took a deep breath and placed her hand on his shoulder for support. An insider told TMZ that Brooke 'got emotional seeing the sunset' as it 'reminded her of her father.' 'She was telling her husband how much Hulk would have loved it,' the source claimed. Her latest sighting comes just days after Brooke opened up about her fallout from Hulk and that he never met her children. Rangers place Adolis Garcia on IL with ankle injury
August 13 - By Field Level Media Adolis Garcia was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a sprained left ankle and the Texas Rangers activated fellow outfielder Evan Carter before the finale of their home series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Garcia, 32, is batting .224 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs this season. The two-time All-Star had a four-game hitting streak before going 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Diamondbacks but is batting .196 in August. Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday night the Rangers "were just bad" in the loss and pointed to ongoing offensive issues as a concern as Texas attempts to keep pace in the wild-card race. Carter, 22, last played on Aug. 1 and is batting .238 with four home runs and 21 RBIs this season. Carter had a .185 batting average in July. Carter, drafted out of high school with the 50th overall pick by the Rangers in 2020, was placed on the IL with a back injury.
