Giannis Antetokounmpo defends LeBron against 'no bag' accusations
If they're people out there that believe that one of the greatest players to ever be on earth has no bag… Man i've seen it all 💯🤦🏽‍♂️ https://t.co/fPioveZcJf — Giannis Antetokounmpo (@Giannis_An34) June 9, 2025
Even though LeBron James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer two years ago and has amassed over 42,000 regular-season points in 22 years, he isn't quite as skilled a scorer as many of the game's other all-time greats.
Since he has always relied a lot on his athleticism and physicality to score, some have accused him of not having "a bag" as far as offensive skill sets he can rely on. His mid-range game has gone largely unrefined and undeveloped, and although he's capable of shooting a fairly effective fadeaway jumper out of the post, he doesn't go to that move on a consistent basis.
James responded to that criticism on a recent episode of the "Mind the Game" podcast, which he co-hosts with Hall of Famer Steve Nash. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo also had his own response to that criticism of James.
In some ways, Antetokounmpo's game resembles that of a young James, minus the brute force but with more length and longer strides. He, as James still is, is a terror on the fast break, and he is one of the NBA's very best players when it comes to attacking the paint and finishing near the rim.
The two-time MVP averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists a game while shooting 60.1% from the field this season. With the Bucks' supporting cast aging and thinning out and fellow All-Star Damian Lillard expected to miss most, if not all, of next season with a torn Achilles, many expect Antetokounmpo to ask to be traded this summer.

Former Quarterback Continues To Disrespect Eagles Star

Former Quarterback Continues To Disrespect Eagles Star originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Jalen Hurts has been to the Pro Bowl twice, is an All-Pro player, has been to two Super Bowls, won one, and even earned the game MVP trophy. That kind of resume on the Philadelphia Eagles would usually have people arguing about his all-time greatness. Advertisement Not Hurts, though. And especially not in the national media. Hurts has continued to be disrespected as a starting quarterback this offseason despite winning Super Bowl LIX MVP. Former starting quarterback and NBC commentator Chris Simms spoke out about his latest quarterback rankings, which have Hurts just 10th in the league. 'The Super Bowl champ, the Super Bowl MVP. Really kind of an incredible year when you really think about it," Simms said. "The ultimate leader, that's the first thing I'll say. He's tough, he's the same guy all the time. He can handle the Philadelphia criticism good or bad and seems to take it all in stride." Advertisement It is incredible that a quarterback with six times the playoff wins as someone like Justin Herbert, three times as many wins as Dak Prescott, and a record of 4-1 against the top quarterbacks is ranked so far below. It shows that people no longer care about wins at the NFL level; they care only about the numbers. And Simms' comments show that people have lost the narrative regarding how we judge quarterbacks in the modern era. That is ok, though. So long as Hurts continues to win, comments like these from Simms will only be laughed at when his enshrinement in Canton happens. Charles Barkley slams Knicks amid team's search for next head coach

The New York Knicks' plan to hire a successor to Tom Thibodeau does not appear to be going so well at the start of the NBA offseason. The team was rumored to be interested in former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Jordan Ott before he took the Phoenix Suns' head-coaching job and the Cavaliers' associate head coach Johnnie Bryant, who the Knicks have yet to pull the trigger on bringing in. ESPN reported over the last few days the Knicks have tried to reach out to several teams' current head coaches in an attempt to lure them via trade. Among those reportedly on the list were the Dallas Mavericks' Jason Kidd, Minnesota Timberwolves' Chris Finch, Houston Rockets' Ime Udoka and Atlanta Hawks' Quin Snyder. All to no avail. Charles Barkley took a swipe at the Knicks' early offseaon woes. "The Knicks gotta be the stupidest damn people in the world," Barkley said on NBA TV before Game 3 of the NBA Finals. "You don't fire no good coach like that and don't have a plan. I mean, Thibs did a hell of a job, obviously something's going on there. You don't have a plan? And now three coaches have turned you down. You've gotta have a plan, man. And they don't have a plan. I don't know what the hell they're going to do." The Knicks fired Thibodeau after the team reached its farthest spot in the postseason since 2000. New York was 51-31 and has a decent team built around Jalen Brunson. It is unclear what the offseason will hold for the organization. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
