The Cincinnati Bengals begin training camp in 13 days. The team will gather for the first eight practices on July 23 at the Kettering Health Practice Fields.

Coming off a 9-8 season where the team failed to make the playoffs, coach Zac Taylor hopes to make improvements this offseason, with a focus on eliminating unforced errors and mistakes, particularly on offense.
The Bengals were guilty of 19 false start penalties last season according to nflpenalties.com – well below the league average of 22.09. But some of those came at the most inopportune times for the team.
At one point, quarterback Joe Burrow had had enough.
As featured on the latest episode of "Quarterbacks" on Netflix, the former LSU Tiger and 2019 Heisman Trophy Award winner lost his "stuff" in a game against the Tennessee Titans last season.

Video and microphones caught the moment Burrow went off on his teammates and coach Taylor on the sideline, as posted by Tyler Dunne.
"What in the [expletive] are we doing, man," Burrow shouted as he walked off the field following a penalty. "[Expletive] wake up! [Expletive] mental mistakes all [expletive] day."
Coach Taylor wasn't immune to Burrow's wrath, either. "Embarassing performance by us," Burrow continued. "[Expletive] embarrassing. [Expletive] that. [Expletive] that. We sucked today. That was embarrassing. We jumped offsides [expletive] eight times."
"Sometimes I walk into an emotional moment, and I know I'm walking into an emotional moment, and it becomes a really emotional moment," Taylor commented later. "It can be viewed as conflict, but it's really just passion for the game."

"I understand that we won the game and we want to be happy that we won the game, but, at the same time, when things aren't good enough, I'm not going to act like they were," Burrow later added.
The Bengals won that road matchup against the Titans 37-27, but it was far from a perfect game. Burrow threw for 271 yards on 26-of-37 passing, and threw three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Patriots Make Sense As Landing Spot For Disgruntled Defensive Superstar
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons recently requested a trade from the team following a contract dispute with the front office. It seems like Parsons is serious about wanting out of Dallas, so there's a good chance he's dealt unless a deal comes to fruition. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox recently listed Parsons as the Cowboys' biggest trade chip ahead of the season. OXNARD, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 5: Micah Parsons #11 of the Dallas Cowboys looks on during the joint practice against the Los Angeles Rams at Staybridge Suites Oxnard on August 5, 2025 in Oxnard, California. OXNARD, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 5: Micah Parsons #11 of the Dallas Cowboys looks on during the joint practice against the Los Angeles Rams at Staybridge Suites Oxnard on August 5, 2025 in Oxnard, California."Dallas has a recent history of waiting until the last minute to reach contract agreements," Knox wrote. "This led to massive deals for wideout CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott—who now makes $5 million more per year than any other player. Parsons is now set to top the $41 million annually that T.J. Watt will make on his new deal. "If Parsons is prepared to leave, the Cowboys should see what they can get in return. They're unlikely to be serious Super Bowl contenders within the next few seasons, and paying more than $130 million per year for three players would be hard to justify if they aren't. Trading Parsons would likely bring back a pair of first-round picks and more. The Cowboys owe it to themselves to see just how high his price tag might go." If Parsons lands on the trade block with a real chance of being dealt, the New England Patriots need to throw their name in the hat. The Patriots have built up the offense around Drake Maye a bit, but adding a superstar edge rusher to the defense could make the young quarterback's job a lot easier. Parsons would help shorten drives. His impact plays could take a lot of pressure off of Maye and the offense. The Patriots have the draft pick capital and a few young players they could dangle in a trade for Parsons. At the end of the day, when a player of Parsons' caliber lands on the trade market, it would make sense for every team to take a shot at landing him. More NFL: Micah Parsons Blockbuster? New York Giants defeat Buffalo Bills, 34-25: Here's how Giants Nation reacted
Jaxson Dart shares a postgame moment with his mom after his first NFL game @Giants The New York Giants opened their preseason with a 34-25 victory over the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Saturday. The win evened head coach Brian Daboll's all-time preseason record at 5-5, including 3-1 during the opening week. Although the result itself is meaningless, the Giants showed impressive life on offense with all four quarterbacks leading scoring drives. That's a feather in the cap of offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, who has reassumed play-calling duties. Most importantly, the Giants seemed to escape the game without any notable injuries. Here's a look at how Giants Nation reacted on X: DUBS Even when it isn't perfect, Marcus Mbow's athletic ability is just so nice. His feet are so quick. He doesn't cross his feet, still stays balanced and gives the QB a path to step up in the pocket. WDubs only NYG had 51 pass attempts today with ZERO sacks. Granted it wasn't against a great pass rush defense, but in the past 51 NYG pass attempts against high school JV team would have produced a sack or two. Giants did not commit a turnover but did have 10 penalties totaling 70 yards. NFL Twitter put a golden jacket on Shedeur Sanders after his performance in the Browns first preseason game. Keep that same energy for Mr. Jaxson Sanders:14/23 138 yds 2TD4 car 19 ydsJaxson Dart:12/19 154 yds 1TD3 car 24 yds #NYGIANTS #GIANTS Aside from the first step on Jaxson Dart's path to Canton, the most important development from today is that it doesn't appear that the Giants lost any key players to injury. Got some work and got out healthy. Defensive line looked goodJaxson Dart played wellGraham Nano looked goodNo key injuries... Onto preseason week 2. In 1990, NY Giants started the preseason with a win in Buffalo and ended the season with a win vs the Bills in the Super Bowl. I don't make the rules, the precedent is set. Get the parade floats dusted off for February. Idc how good Jaxson dart is.. I will never forgive the giants for drafting him over shedeur smh Here's an ad for you Giants fans watching Jaxson Dart's preseason debut today! 🔥 Dart looks goodCarter dominating franchise tacklesPrime fat Daboll has returnedGiants football is back Carl Banks is right, if the Giants cut DeVito, he won't be on their practice squad, some team will pick him up.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor explains aversion to popular joint practices during training camp
NFL teams going head-to-head during training camp practices is relatively common. The Cincinnati Bengals are one of just three teams who have decided not to hold joint practices this year. Bengals coach Zac Taylor believes there is a better way to get his players ready for the season. The coach prefers to see some of his projected starters — and even star players — take reps in preseason games. Pro Bowl quarterback Joe Burrow and star wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins played in the Bengals' preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday. Taylor argued intrasquad competition is more beneficial than joint practices. "I'm thankful this year we're not doing that (joint practice)," Taylor told reporters. "It's really good for us to continue to put some install stuff in and tweak some stuff, as opposed to locking in on X opponent that you know that we're gonna spend three days preparing for and practicing for and reviewing." Taylor said the Bengals will have some scrimmage-style competition between the offense and defense during six practices leading up to the team's next preseason matchup. "We just get to spend that on ourselves. And I think that's really needed right now for this group. That's the way that this camp hit us this year with no practices against anybody else, just focusing on (ourselves). I'm excited about it." Taylor said it will be another important week for the Bengals' offensive line competition. Lucas Patrick and Cody Ford have competed at the right guard position, and the Bengals have been mixing in different second-unit offensive linemen all summer. "(It's) very open," Taylor said. "I think nothing is set in stone right now. There's still a lot of opportunity. There are eight true practices and two games, so we're going to utilize every one of them to gain all the information we can out of it." The Bengals open the regular season Sept. 7 against the Cleveland Browns.
