Teacher accused of hosting 'Scream gangbangs' with kids forced to sell home after being dumped by husband

Daily Mail2 days ago

A married Indiana teacher who police say raped young boys while forcing them to wear Scream masks is selling her home after being dumped by her husband, according to court records.
Brittany Fortinberry's husband, Nicholas, filed for divorce on February 25 as the 31-year-old educator was charged with more than three dozen felonies related to her alleged sex crimes with at least six students as young as 13.
Nicholas has since filed a motion with the court revealing his intention to sell his and Brittany's marital home in Martinsdale.
While Brittany sits in jail awaiting trial, Nicholas claimed he can no longer afford it, according to divorce records seen by TMZ.
The couple told a judge they've been using monthly benefits from the Department of Veteran Affairs to pay the mortgage but explained that this money is no longer being deposited into their joint account.
Nicholas is a veteran and now works as a diesel mechanic and a shop foreman, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The home the couple sought to sell is worth an estimated $440,000, according to Zillow.
The home, where police found a stripper and sex toys, is also where Brittany allegedly sexually abused numerous children last year, according to FOX59.
The second accuser came forward after Brittany was arrested in February. The victim claimed that when he was 13 years old, he was forced to have group sex with the disgraced teacher and two of his other underage friends
On June 3, the judge granted the couple's request to sell the home. Records show Brittany was present at this hearing via Zoom.
Nicholas has also been accused of having knowledge of Brittany's alleged crimes, with one parent telling police that he 'threatened to slaughter (the teen) in front of her if he came forward.'
He has been charged with intimidation and failure to report a crime.
The investigation into Brittany began in August 2024, after a teenager's grandmother told police she molested him when he was 15 years old.
The grandmother also claimed she sent him nude pictures and gave him drugs.
The boy's grandmother further claimed Brittany sent him graphic messages allegedly threatening to kill herself if he told anyone about the abuse.
'[The boy] said that it was no different than a 30-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl. [The boy] said it was child molestation and he's there because he doesn't want her to molest more kids,' court documents
More alleged victims from Eminence High School came forward, telling police Brittany also sent them explicit messages, pictures and videos.
One of the most bizarre claims is that she insisted her alleged victims wear a 'Scream' mask during the sessions, a reference to the Ghostface mask worn by the killer in the movie.
This allegation came to light from a boy who came forward after Brittany was arrested in February, according to an affidavit seen by DailyMail.com.
The boy's mother, who was friends with the disgraced teacher, said Brittany showered her son with expensive football gifts and tried to message him repeatedly on Snapchat until she told him to block her on the social media app.
When she then heard of the the teacher's arrest, the friend said she asked her son about her interactions with Brittany - and he began to cry as he detailed how she would send him sexually explicit videos of herself and provide him with drugs and what he suspected was alcohol, the document states.
The boy explained to detectives that Brittany, 'would always make him food and would buy him anything he wanted' including 'vapes, weed, and THC carts (cartridges)', according to his affidavit.
He made claims about several instances where Brittany allegedly plied him and friends with mushroom pills before encouraging them to touch her sexually.
'Brittany would peer pressure them if they didn't want to take the shrooms,' the affidavit reads. 'Brittany would grab their arm she would say, 'just let it happen".'
His mom also told cops that her son claimed that, 'Brittany would put the shrooms on a peanut butter sandwich so they couldn't taste them'.
In one instance, the boy claimed, Brittany picked him and two friends up and took them to the mall, before calling their parents to ask if they could spend the night.
Once there, the then 13-year-old alleged Brittany ordered him and his two friends to have group sex with her, despite the youngsters all being underage.
'Brittany had one condition for them to have the gangbang with her and that was that they had to wear a Scream mask to f**k her,' the affidavit states.
Another victim claimed Brittany raped him while her young son was sleeping nearby.
'One of her sons was in the room at the end of the bed on a couch,' the boy told police, according to a probable cause affidavit from Morgan County Sheriff's Office Detective Sergeant Patrick Williams.
'Brittany's son really wanted to stay in the room with them [the boy] said, he laid on the couch with Brittany's son while they watched a show and when her son fell asleep he got in bed with Brittany
'[The boy] said that Brittany asked him to have sex with her, that he did have sex with her, and that her son was in the room at the end of the bed the entire time.'
She was arrested in February and was initially charged with 29 counts, including child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of matter harmful to minors and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Prosecutors tacked on a dozen more charges in April, bringing the total to 41 counts. The additional charges include incest, multiple counts of child molestation and conducting a performance that is harmful to minors.
She pleaded not guilty and if she is found guilty, she could spend the rest of her life in prison.
The ex-teacher has since blamed her actions on her weight loss, saying she regretted losing 150 pounds and would have acted differently if she was still heavier.
Still, she was 'immediately suspended' from her role with Eminence schools after the allegations emerged in August last year, and she resigned one day later.
'The welfare and safety of our students is the top priority of the Eminence Community Schools,' the district said.
'As such, the School Corporation has been and will continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement and the Morgan County Prosecutor's Office in this matter.'

'Explosion' on Las Vegas strip after car 'flees scene': 'It sounded like a bomb'

An explosion has rocked the Las Vegas strip with dramatic footage showing flames erupting outside the Aria Resort and Casino. The fire began near a vehicle just off the strip, quickly engulfing at least two palm trees in front of the luxury hotel, according to witnesses on social media. Footage shared online shows black smoke billowing into the sky as fire crews race to contain the blaze. No injuries have been reported and there is no damage to nearby hotels, according to initial reports. Witnesses described the terrifying moment flames burst into view. 'Big explosion. We just heard what sounded like a bomb. Right in front of the Aria,' one bystander said in a video shared from the scene. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have now issued a statement confirming the cause of the fire. 'We are investigating a small fire in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard,' the department said. 'The fire was contained to a small area and was extinguished quickly. It was learned that an occupant in a vehicle threw fireworks causing a tree to catch fire.' Firefighters remain at the scene as the investigation continues. In a video posted from the scene, TikToker Baby Khaled claimed he and others 'heard an explosion' and then spotted a car speeding away from the area. Khaled shared footage of the skidding vehicle and declared: 'Let's find this car.' Other witnesses also flooded social media with clips of the blaze erupting outside the Aria Resort and Casino. The explosion outside the Aria Resort and Casino comes just days after a fatal shooting shook the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night. A man and his wife were gunned down near the iconic Bellagio fountains in what police described as an 'isolated incident' involving individuals who were known to each other.

Texas reps. attending anti-Trump rally warned of 'credible threats'

The Texas Department of Public Safety has warned Saturday that 'credible threats' have been made to state legislators and their staff who plan to attend an anti-Trump rally at the Capitol in Austin. This comes hours after two Democratic Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot by a former appointee of the state's governor , Tim Walz. The DPS alert was sent out just before 1pm on Saturday, according to emails obtained by The Texas Tribune . Austin's 'No Kings Day' protest was scheduled to begin at 5pm, and roughly a half hour before, Texas House Democratic Caucus Chair and state Rep. Gene Wu confirmed it would commence as planned, despite the threats. 'We have every indication from the Austin No Kings organizers and Hands Off Central TX that our demonstration will continue,' Wu said in a statement. 'We are in active conversations with public safety officials, as well as state and local leaders to ensure have the opportunity to exercise their First Amendment rights without fear, intimidation, or violence,' he added. And ten minutes before 5pm, a man was arrested in connection to the threats made this afternoon, a spokesperson with Texas DPS told A state trooper with DPS arrested the man in La Grange, a city 65 miles southeast of Austin. The spokesperson said there is no longer an active threat against the Austin protest, which is one of more than 2,000 'No King Day' events across the country on Saturday meant to protest President Donald Trump's actions in his second term. Officials scheduled to speak at the Capitol protest include Democratic US Reps. Greg Casar and Lloyd Dogfgett; Democratic state Reps. Lulu Flores and John Bucy III; and Democratic state Sen. Sarah Eckhardt. Organizations involved with coordinating this large-scale resistance are strongly pushing back against what they describe as Trump's march toward authoritarianism on issues such as immigration enforcement, civil rights and cuts to the federal government through DOGE. The simple message people involved want to get across is that 'we don't do kings in America,' said Ezra Levin, the co-executive director of progressive organizing group Indivisible. The protests were also meant to counter Trump's military parade in Washington, D.C. , which began at 6:30pm ET. The threat against Austin's 'No Kings Day' protest came at a particularly sensitive moment. Early on Saturday morning, a gunman entered the residence of Minnesota state Senator John Hoffman and his wife early Saturday, shooting both and leaving them critically injured. He then proceeded to the home of former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman, where she and her husband were fatally shot. Both lawmakers who were shot were Democrats. Vance Luther Boelter, 57, who was appointed by Walz in 2019 to serve a four-year stint on the Governor's Workforce Development Board, has been identified as the suspect in the quadruple shooting. The first shooting occurred just after 2am at Hoffman's home in Champlin, about 20 miles from Minneapolis. Hoffman and his wife were shot multiple times, KSTP reported. The second attack took place at around 4am at Hortman's Brooklyn Park residence, eight miles south. After that shooting, police engaged the suspect in a gunfight on the street, officials said. Drew Evans, head of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, confirmed that the suspect escaped during the exchange and remains at large. According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Boelter stands at 6-foot-1, weighs roughly 220 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Texas capitol evacuated after officials warn lawmakers of ‘credible threats'

The Texas department of public safety has warned state lawmakers and legislative staffers of 'credible threats' to their safety, hours after two Minnesota politicians were targeted early Saturday. An alert was issued just before 1pm local time, alerting legislators planning to attend a 'No Kings' anti-Trump rally at the capitol in Austin. The area was evacuated soon after, according to the Texas Tribune, which first obtained a copy of the warning. The alert said the state capitol had been evacuated 'out of an abundance of caution' after the DPS received a 'credible threat' against state lawmakers. Both the capitol building and surrounding grounds were closed temporarily, and officials did not immediately indicate when they would be reopened. 'DPS continues working with our law enforcement partners to address the threat,' the statement said. 'DPS has a duty to protect the people and property of Texas and is continuously monitoring events occurring today and their impact on public safety across the state,' the DPS statement said. 'A credible threat was made to possibly kill members of the Texas legislature at the capitol,' the state's lieutenant governor, Dan Patrick, posted on social media. 'I urge everyone to take appropriate precautions and heed the warning of the Texas department of public safety until that threat is no longer active.' Patrick noted the killings of the Minnesota Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, saying that what happened 'in Minnesota is a tragedy and our prayers go out to the families, friends, and those impacted'. Saturday's protest in Austin, which organizers have said will be nonviolent, is sponsored by the chair of the Texas house Democratic caucus, Gene Wu. The Democratic state representative John Bucy III, the Democratic state senator Sarah Eckhardt and the Democratic representative Greg Casar were expected to attend. Republican representative Charlie Geren later told colleagues in an email that the Minnesota suspect – identified by police as Vance Boelter, 57 – had a list of potential targets. 'It seems to be an isolated incident. However, we're always concerned about copycats and those who the attack might inspire,' Geren wrote. 'Your safety is our top priority, and we are taking all necessary precautions to address any potential threats.'
