LEWIS Capaldi made his long-awaited return to the stage last night with a surprise gig in Edinburgh.
The hitmaker, 28, performed six songs at the capital's Assembly Rooms during a charity concert in aid of the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Capaldi, from Bathgate, made the last-minute decision to join headliner Tom Walker for part of his set.
Concertgoers were warned not to film the gig as venue bosses asked fans to keep their phones in sealed pouches throughout.
The Hold Me While You Wait crooner, who has Tourette's, reportedly told the audience he was "very nervous".
It is the first time Capaldi has appeared on stage since his 2023 Glastonbury set, which saw him tear up after suffering repeated tics.
Soon after, he cancelled all of his future shows and announced he was stepping back from the spotlight for the sake of his mental health.
After the show on Friday, Tom Walker said: "When Lewis confirmed he wanted to do it last minute, I was delighted. We've bumped into each other a few times over the years backstage at fezzys (festivals) and events and he's a total legend.
"I know how much pressure this industry can put on artists at times, especially after a bit of a break.
"So for him to be able to play a little secret gig in a safe space without all the phones, the noise and the expectations was perfect. I'm buzzing to have been a part of it."
Fans flocked to social media to share their excitement at seeing Capaldi back on stage.
One wrote: "Lewis Capaldi being a surprise guest was the best thing ever. What a gig".

Another added: "Tom Walker you were fabulous tonight, but very generous to give your night up to Lewis Capaldi, it was as epic, thank you, you're both stars".
A third said: "Lewis looked so good and sang so well."
It comes amid rumours that Lewis is gearing up to make a comeback.
Singer Yungblud, who is close pals with Lewis, recently told how he is getting his mental health back on track.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: "I have heard his new music and it sounds great. He is getting his mental health right.
"I love him, as me and him have been on this ride together.
"We experienced it at the same time and he is perhaps the only friend who knows what I am going through, in the same way I know what he's going through."
We previously told how the chart-topper has seen the cost of revamping his 'money pit' mansion soar to more than £1million.
The rising bill is on top of the £1.6million Capaldi forked out for his farmhouse in 2020.
