Man accused of shooting at woman sitting in car

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man accused of firing shots at a woman in Orange Mound earlier this month is now behind bars.
On February 5 around 5:50 p.m., officers say they received an aggravated assault call in the 900 block of Tunstall Street. A woman stated that she had been shot at by a man, later identified as Martavious Jenkins.
The woman was not reported injured.
Overnight shooting in Whitehaven leaves 1 dead
She told police it started when she was in a Nissan Altima that was struck by a bullet. She says she saw Jenkins pointing a black unknown handgun in her direction before firing two shots.
Police say they took photos of a bullet hole in the Altima's passenger-side front fender.
After the woman gave a statement to the police at Felony Response, she was able to identify Jenkins in a six-person photographic display.
Martavious Jenkins, 27, is held in jail on a $125,000 bond and facing an aggravated assault charge. He is due in court on Wednesday morning.
