Lionesses legends inspire next generation of women in sports media
The former England stars turned prime-time pundits offered words of wisdom to 12 graduates from Pixel FC Academy – a landmark programme delivered by Google Pixel, supported by Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC and The FA to provide ambitious female creators with the opportunities, training and inspiration to break into the business.
Developed in partnership with women's sports experts The Powerhouse Project, the five-month Academy programme has featured workshops on every aspect of modern sports media, from TV punditry, production and written press, to creating viral social content.
The programme, available to women aged 18+, began in January, following research by YouGov which revealed that 70% of female sports fans aged 16-24 believe sports media is a male dominated industry, with 63% stating that they would be more likely to apply if they saw a greater number of women in prominent roles.
Since beginning in January, Pixel FC Academy members have produced 120 social media posts of their experiences, with 1.6 million views in total, contributing to an average personal follower uplift of 145% on TikTok and 33% on Instagram.

Content cannot be displayed without consent At the end of May, Jaguars revealed their pre-season schedule, with Rees-Zammit finding out where he may get a chance to play in another live game. Despite spending a season as part of the 17-player practice squad, the Welshman was not elevated to the main roster to play in a proper game. However, his first season was more of a learning phase. Therefore, his last real game was in pre-season last year while at the Kansas City Chiefs, so it'll be around one year since he last played a match. Jaguars found out they'll be taking on three teams in August this year, with Rees-Zammit highly likely to be involved in at least one of those. Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen agree British record fee for German star Wirtz
Liverpool have agreed to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for an initial £100m, potentially rising to £116m, making him their new club record signing. Wirtz, who preferred joining Liverpool, will undergo a medical next week and is expected to agree personal terms, rejecting offers from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. Liverpool 's previous bids included a £109m offer last week before reaching an agreement with Leverkusen, who initially wanted €150m (£126m).
