The Climate Tribe Opens Its First Sustainability Hub in Abu Dhabi
Founded in 2023 by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, The Climate Tribe is a UAE-based social enterprise committed to collective climate action through creativity, storytelling, and community mobilisation. Over the past two years, it has built a movement that blends sustainability with culture—and now, that vision has taken physical form.
The Climate Tribe unveiled its first permanent space: The Climate Tribe Hub in Abu Dhabi. Purpose-built as a collaborative venue for climate-focused creativity, the Hub officially opened with 'The Climate Tribe Live!'—a launch event that brought together partners, creatives, and environmental changemakers.
'The Climate Tribe began with a vision to inspire climate action through storytelling, creativity, and shared purpose,' said Her Highness Sheikha Shamma. 'With 2025 being the Year of Community in the UAE, we are proud to align with our national vision as we now mark this new chapter in our journey.'
The Hub itself is as much a statement as it is a space. Designed in collaboration with local artisans and sustainable design studios like Alchemy, Tashkeel, and Alghadeer Emirati Crafts, the venue integrates low-impact materials, recycled elements, and nods to Emirati heritage in every detail. The result is a space that is both functional and reflective—hosting workshops, screenings, panel talks, and strategy labs for climate-driven projects.
At the launch event, guests watched a mini-documentary detailing the Hub's transformation from concept to construction, followed by a panel featuring members of The Climate Tribe's leadership team and project collaborators. 'The Hub is a true reflection of our values,' said Executive Director Hind Al Ghseen. 'It stands as a symbol of what can be achieved when creativity, culture, and purpose come together.'
Since its founding, The Climate Tribe has united more than 2,200 community members, facilitated over 70 climate initiatives, and contributed to the planting of 921 trees and recycling of over 8,600 kilograms of waste. With the launch of its first physical space, the group is expanding from a digital platform into a real-world ecosystem of ideas, tools, and partnerships—ready to turn climate storytelling into action.

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development KFED has successfully completed the first edition of its Future Entrepreneur programme, aiming to foster entrepreneurial skills among youth aged 6 to 18 years. The key objectives of the programme included fostering innovation, empowering young people with financial management skills, and building a new generation of Emirati entrepreneurs using tools for excellence in a practical environment under the guidance of a committee of experts. The Future Entrepreneur Programme attracted applications from more than 1,000 individuals, with 948 invited to take part in a training focused on financial literacy and the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Following the training, participants joined an interactive workshop aimed at identifying the most promising ideas. Out of the invited applicants in the training, 134 youth were selected for a final three-day bootcamp. During the bootcamp, participants developed their business ideas across three main pathways. These included 25 projects involving 70 students in the food and beverage sector, 16 projects with 33 students focusing on goods and merchandise, and 13 projects featuring 30 students in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The 54 projects also participated in a marketplace where they had the chance to live a real-world experience and sell their products and services to more than 350 attendees. At the conclusion of the camp, the most outstanding projects were selected to join the Future Builders Launchpad. This phase provides both financial and technical support to help turn their ideas into business ventures.
