Xbox Games Showcase 2025: Persona 4 Remake, Revival, Announced
The teaser trailer, which is just short of 50 seconds, shows some of the sights to be found in the rural town of Inaba, including Naganaki Shrine, Yasogami High School and the Central Shopping District. In-between shots, a tower of old CRT TVs are shown turning on and off before the red glow of Persona 4's infamous Midnight Channel comes on screen. To wrap things off, the player protagonist, canonically named Yu Narukami, can be seen lightly jogging from the shrine into the shopping district, which serves to show off the game's revamped visuals.
Like in the case of Persona 3 Reload, which was similarly a ground-up remake of a PlayStation 2 classic, fans can expect Persona 4 Revival to bring, beyond said revamped visuals, numerous quality of life changes, retouched gameplay mechanics and more. Fans are also speculating that Persona 4 Revival might correct its outdated views on especially gender and sexuality, alongside other minor story changes. No new characters are expected to be introduced, as was the case with Persona 4 Golden or with Persona 5 Royal, rather, Persona 4 Revival is likely to introduce additional Personas, outfits and animated cutscenes.
In a letter from Persona 4 Revival Kazuhisa Wada, he states that the game will be a 'fresh and surprising product for both newcomers and long-time fans' and that the studio he helms, P-STUDIO, is 'actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series.' Persona 6, anyone?
Meanwhile, CGM's Zubi Khan, in his 9/10 review, has appreciated the most recent Persona remake, Persona 3 Reload, dubbing it 'a radiant remake'.
Persona 4 Revival will release on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Persona 3 Reload is coming to Switch 2 in October, finally confirming what we've expected since it was announced
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Sega has finally confirmed that Persona 3 Reload is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, with it arriving on October 23, 2025. I was shocked during the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal not to see a hint of Persona 3 Reload, but it felt like only a matter of time before Sega confirmed its 2024 RPG remake would come to the new console. It was finally confirmed as part of the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase – Persona 3 Reload is not only coming to Switch 2, but it's also only a few months away. The game is set to get a digital and physical launch, but there's no confirmation yet on whether it's a game-key card or an actual physical copy. All of Sega's launch titles were on game-key card, but the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds developer is doing the right thing and putting it onto a 64GB card, so maybe Sega has learned nobody wants the game-keys. What Sega didn't confirm, however, is if the Persona 3 Reload DLC expansion Episode Aigis would be launching alongside the main game – or if it will be a separate purchase (but given it wasn't mentioned, I'm sure it will be). Elsewhere in the Direct, Sega confirmed that action RPG Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to Switch 2 on November 13, with a native Switch 2 version of the first Yakuza Kiwami (which is already on Switch) coming alongside it. However, in what seems like an obvious missed slam dunk, Metaphor: ReFantazio did not get a Switch 2 announcement – hopefully that won't be too far off. Persona 3 Reload Switch 2 excitement has been immediately dampened by Game-Key cards and the $35 expansion not being included in the $90 premium edition: "Thanks for saving my money Atlus!"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Sega has announced that Persona 3 Reload is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, but the excitement around it has been dampened by some bizarre decisions. One of the most anticipated reveals going into the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase was that Atlus would finally announce it's 2024 JRPG remake Persona 3 Reload would be coming to Switch 2 after skipping the original Switch last year. In addition, hopes were high that Sega had learned its lesson after Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was confirmed to not be on a Game-Key card, with it being on an actual 64GB card. However, while we did get the confirmation of Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2, I'm afraid I have bad news. A Sega rep has confirmed to GamesRadar+ that Persona 3 Reload's physical release on Switch 2 will be released as a Game-Key card. This was also spotted on a Japanese retailer by Twitter user NSuperGamerGuy, and the responses to it are as you would expect. One user says that if the game had been on a full card with the DLC included, they "would've instantly double dipped," adding "thanks for saving my money Atlus!" Which brings us to the other part. Sega has also confirmed that the Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass, featuring the Episode Aigis DLC, will be available at launch. You can currently pre-order Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo eShop, with a $90 "Digital Premium Edition." This comes with the game, digital soundtrack and artbook and a selection of character costumes... but no mention of the Expansion Pass or Episode Aigis. Keeping in mind that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 almost two years later than the other consoles, people aren't exactly happy to be paying full price for the game and DLC separately. One Twitter user says in response to the news: "I like their games, but can't say I'm surprised with this, classic Atlus." Considering fans slammed the DLC's Steam page with negative reviews when it was announced, Atlus likely expected this reaction, but it's still disappointing nonetheless. Oh hey, Square Enix announced a turn-based JRPG: Octopath Traveler 0 is coming this year and it looks like it's added 8-character fights and some Suikoden to the mix.

Persona 3 Reload arrives on Switch 2 in October
The Nintendo Switch was a great place to play Persona games, and it looks like the outgoing console has passed on the torch to its successor, with last year's Persona 3 Reload kicking things off when it comes to Switch 2 on October 23. Reload is a full remake of 2006's Persona 3 (later ported to the PSP as Persona 3 Portable ), which Engadget's Mat Smith called "a gorgeous version of itself" in his review. It's both one of the most confusing and influential entries in the long-running series, and the remake's updated visuals means it sits proudly alongside Persona 5 Royal as one of the most stylish RPGs you'll ever play. It's also one of the more repetitive entries, but that didn't put off the many Persona sickos out there from experiencing the remixed game all over again. The Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload means the game will be playable on practically every modern platform, but the big question will be how it performs on the more powerful hardware. The Switch port of Persona 5 Royal wasn't quite as easy on the eyes as the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions, but the portability made it the ideal platform for the game all the same. Persona 3 Reload comes to Switch 2 on October 23. At the time of writing there's no news on whether a physical version will be available at launch.
