Today's horoscope for August 9 as Taurus feels the pressure

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Today's horoscope for Saturday, August 9 will see one sign feel full of nervous energy, as another is forced to face the truth
It's Saturday, and one star sign tackles their to-do list, while another takes a look at their social life.

There are 12 zodiac signs - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces - and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here's what today could bring for your horoscope - and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
You're full of nervous energy and this needs an outlet. A good choice would be to visit a favourite shopping centre for a little shopping excursion. You could find some great bargains and a terrific gift for a Leo friend. Of course there are other alternatives available like enjoying a stroll along the beach.
Taurus (Apr 21 - May 21)
You're carrying a lot of weight of expectation from your peers in a group situation. You are unequivocally the most skilled in the group. Spending a little time getting to grips with what this means is important now. Follow what your heart tells you regardless of what others think.
Gemini (May 22 - June 21)
You may have to face the truth about your role in recent conflicts in the family. Your tendency to speak without thinking has led to misunderstandings. Recognising that you may be the cause of some issues is the first step towards making amends. Reach out and mend these relationships.
Cancer (June 22 - July 23)
At last you will find the time and energy to tackle tasks that remain unfinished. You will admit that you could have done these earlier but for some reason you kept postponing them and now the day has come when you need to do something to get back on top of it all.
Leo (July 24 - Aug 23)
You have a knack for connecting with others and can coordinate any group effort effectively. That's why you are such a popular leader. This doesn't reflect on your personal life though when you should perhaps take some time to think about those whose needs you overlook in pursuit of your own achievements and social approval.

Virgo (Aug 24 - Sept 23)
There's a warm, cosy feel to the places you visit and to the get-togethers that have been arranged for today. There's no room for disagreements when you are spending time with some wonderful people. You can fully enjoy your work and genuinely connect with friends, colleagues and family.
Libra (Sept 24 - Oct 23)
A challenge you take on early on will come with a lot of responsibility. This will take you away from places you'd been scheduled to visit. You may not realise it but people close to home are waiting for you to tackle various tasks. Alongside new commitments there are old ones that you should not ignore.
Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
Some people around you seem easily distracted whereas you won't find it a problem to think deeply and concentrate. It's a great day for tackling problems. Routine tasks won't slow you down as you have the focus, energy and attention to detail to get things done. Evening will find you chatting about what should come next.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 - Dec 21)
Financial discussions make you tense when there is a real possibility that funds are running low. Whether you're concerned about everyday expenses or financing a long-term project, you need to discuss how this can be better managed. Cut down on your spending. Instead of dining out, consider enjoying a delightful meal at home instead.
Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
Encourage family chats especially if your hope is to build a stable future together. An older or more experienced relative will have some valuable suggestions. Discussions will include home repairs and how to manage finances to make these improvements happen.
Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
You're all set to make some big changes. This is something you have been considering for a while so it will not be an impulsive move as someone who doesn't understand, is implying. You are creating a solid plan, focusing on your goals and making what matters most to you a priority.
Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
Travel plans run into problems. Whether it is traffic delays, airport disruptions or transport breakdowns, you might wish you had stayed at home. If you do decide to remain put, this does not mean you are stuck with nothing to do. After all, no one can stop you from enjoying some fresh air.

Gardener's World fans are moved to tears after star reveals his terminal cancer diagnosis during the show

Gardener's World viewers were moved to tears following Friday's episode after a star revealed he'd been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Steve gave the cameras a tour of his stunning cottage-type garden and revealed his dream of restoring a windmill on the property. But during his interview for the BBC favourite alongside his wife Pippa, Steve shared his cancer diagnosis, adding he's unsure how long he has left to live. He added that he hopes his wife and son will carry on with his endeavour to restore the windmill. Steve said: 'I don't know how long I might live, it could be two months, two years possibly. 'I didn't feel down, as a result of it. I just saw it as another challenge. I thought, I'm going to have to sort something out. Steve, who was sharing his hopes of restoring a windmill in the grounds of his cottage, revealed he could have 'two months or two years' left to live 'Actually I had a big creative burst as a result of this. And I'm getting there, Pippa and our son will be able to manage this whole thing. 'I would like to be remembered for the restoration about the mill. But I feel more strongly about the garden.' Steve's sad announcement left many viewers in tears, and they took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their own sweet messages for him. Posts included: 'Let's hope he can do it and beats the disease as he dearly loves his wife. #GardenersWorld; 'Inventor man, what an inspiration # Gardenersworld; 'He has the correct attitude, be positive, get up, dress up, show up and never give up #GardenersWorld;' Gardener's World first hit BBC screens in 1968, and from 2003 to 2008, and then since 2011, the show has been hosted by Monty Don. The presenter is no stranger to sharing tales from his time working on the long-running show, including the moment he was left 'stark b*****k naked' in his garden after suffering a hilarious blunder. The star recalled how a herd of cows once caused chaos in his garden while speaking in a recent interview. Monty, who films the series from his own garden, Longmeadow, in Ivington, Herefordshire, explained that he sees all kinds of wildlife outside his window. He told The Sun: 'Sometimes we have wildlife there that we don't want. One time some cattle got in. 'I got in the bath, looked out of the window and there was this big white face looking at me. 'So I got a towel and rushed outside to chase them. I put on some wellies and then the towel fell and I was running around Long Meadow stark b*****k naked.' Monty added how he eventually managed to get the herd out and keep them out to ensure it doesn't happen again. Earlier this year, Monty Don opened up about his future on the beloved show, after being forced to cancel six gigs during his An Audience With Monty Don tour after he had to stay in hospital for several days. Speaking to The Radio Times, he said: 'I never make plans beyond two years, but I've agreed to do another two.' 'If the programme is made well, I'll continue.' The news comes after Monty was forced to cancel several tour dates when he was rushed to A&E.

Today's horoscope for August 10 as Pisces is in need of relaxation

Today's horoscope for Sunday, August 10 will see one sign spend some time alone, as another prioritises their health It's Sunday, and one star sign is urged not to rush into decisions, while another holds off on overspending. ‌ There are 12 zodiac signs - Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces - and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more. ‌ These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here's what today could bring for your horoscope - and what you can do to be prepared. ‌ Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20) You're struggling to understand yourself and your emotions. For some reason you are taking all the blame for issues in a close relationship. While it is true you have played a part in it, instead of punishing yourself, why not have an open and honest conversation with your partner? Taurus (Apr 21 - May 21) Unforeseen costs may occur due to you having to lend a loved one some cash or pay for something they need but cannot afford. You might worry about their lack of money-sense but this isn't the time for lectures. That can come later; though whether they listen or not is another story. Gemini (May 22 - June 21) Your focus is on your home and family when you are getting together to finalise details of a little project plan. Loved ones appreciate your knack for sensing their needs and feelings. You seem to be the one who comes up with the best ideas on how to take this forward with everyone's preferences in mind. ‌ Cancer (June 22 - July 23) The outcome of your day hinges on whether or not you find the time to finish a personal project. You are also aware of a relationship that could do with some attention. Things haven't been too good between you lately. Do you want to save this relationship or are you ready to let it go? Leo (July 24 - Aug 23) You need to start focusing more on yourself. Set aside any unfinished tasks and don't hesitate to say no if someone asks for your help especially if this is something you don't want to do. You've worked hard and supported everyone around you. Now, make your personal life and well-being your top priority. ‌ Virgo (Aug 24 - Sept 23) A get-together will take place in a friendly and warm environment. You won't want to miss out on this occasion. You feel fortunate to be among some wonderful friends who can provide you with this much-needed opportunity to have fun and recharge. Libra (Sept 24 - Oct 23) If you haven't been managing your budget well, it is no surprise that financial troubles hit you like an avalanche today. You cannot ignore this problem any longer. Talk to an older relative. They won't be happy about it but they may offer a loan to help you out. Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22) You're anticipating a fun event involving a number of interesting people. Someone you meet at this gathering could become a good friend. Although you are tempted to overspend, try to hold back. You can have fun without it costing a lot. You will be grateful to yourself later when an unexpected bill needs to be paid. ‌ Sagittarius (Nov 23 - Dec 21) Rushing into decisions and acting impulsively as you are tempted to do will not yield positive results. You would feel better knowing that a business project or social enterprise is set up for success and this can only happen if everyone takes a careful and considered approach from the start. Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20) Make health a priority. When was the last time you really relaxed? Remind yourself of how refreshing a short break and change of scenery can be. Arrange to take a break from your busy schedule. Spend time with your closest friends and family and soak in their love and understanding. Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 19) The best moments for you today will be those that are spent alone. You aren't being anti-social, you just know you won't be the most enjoyable company for those around you. There's nothing wrong with needing some time to yourself. A good book can also be a wonderful escape. Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20) Given some recent challenges and problems, a rejuvenating day in nature would be the perfect remedy. At the same time, today will not be entirely about relaxation as you may have to attend to some pressing financial or domestic matters, this evening.
