Swansea couple stole car and drove dangerously in Caerphilly

Andrew Williams and Bobbie Kittle appeared at Swansea Crown Court charged with a series of offences on June 9.
Prosecutor Emily Bennett said a man parked his Citroen DS4 on Argyle Street in Swansea at around 11pm on June 8. He returned home and left his keys on his table.
When he woke up, he saw his keys were gone and his front door was now unlocked.
He reported the break-in and his missing car to the police.
Later that day, a National Police Air Service helicopter spotted the stolen Citroen in the Rhymney area heading northbound.
A stinger was set up, but as the Citroen approached, the driver stopped and attempted to 'reverse ram' the police car behind.
The Citroen 'narrowly missed' the police car and hit a tree. The driver then narrowly missed the police car again as he drove off.

The driver continued towards Rhymney High Street – where another stinger was being set up. However, before the car reached the stinger, the driver crashed into a fence.
Williams was pulled from the driver's seat, and Kittle was in the passenger seat.
As she was arrested, Kittle told officers that the incident was going to appear in the media.
Williams and Kittle both admitted burglary and aggravated vehicle taking, whilst Williams also pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and driving with no insurance.
Jon Tarrant said 34-year-old Kittle, of Geiriol Road in Swansea, had managed to stay out of trouble for periods of her life, but struggled with alcohol and drug addicting and fell back into offending.
'There appears to be very little planning about the incident,' he added.

'The men you have associated with have dragged you into crime,' said Judge Paul Thomas KC.
'But you have to take responsibility for what you do.'
Williams' defence counsel said 'instability' in the defendant's life had 'drawn him back' into offending again.
She acknowledged the driving was dangerous, but said that the burglary only involved the car keys being taken 'rather than there being anything more intrusive'.
It was accepted that Williams, 42, whose given address was Phoenix Way in Swansea, was on licence at the time of these offences.
Judge Thomas sentenced Williams to three-and-a-half years – made up of 30 months for the burglary and car theft, and a further 12 months for the driving offences. He was banned from driving for two years, and must pass an extended re-test to regain his licence.
Kittle was jailed for two years.

Drug dealer had cannabis and dirty cash in Milford Haven

Police attended the address of Joanna John in Milford Haven to execute a search warrant on October 8 last year. Inside a locked bedroom, they found Kaleb Thomas, and a 'large sheath knife', prosecutor Craig Jones said. The officers recovered a vacuum sealed bag containing 165 grams of cannabis, as well as two smaller quantities of the drug. For the latest crime and court news for west Wales, you can join our Facebook group here. Thomas told the officers that he knew what they were looking for, and directed them to a locked drawer where he had stashed 1.62 grams of cocaine. The defendant's mobile phone and a set of digital weighing scales were seized, along with £2,470 in cash. An analysis of Thomas' phone revealed a series of drug-related messages dating back to February last year – including on one occasion where he was asked if he could deal half a kilogram of cannabis. Thomas pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis between February and October last year, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of criminal property – relating to the cash. He denied an offence of possession of crack cocaine. Mr Jones offered no evidence on the cocaine possession charge, stating that it was not in the public interest to pursue a trial on just this matter, and Judge Huw Rees entered a formal not guilty verdict. Thomas, 20, of no fixed abode, is currently serving a sentence of three years detention in a Young Offender Institution after he was sentenced last month alongside three other men following a police raid in Milford Haven on April 3. The quartet all pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, as well as possession of criminal property. (Image: Dyfed-Powys Police) Judge Rees said it was unfair on the defendant that he was being sentenced 'in a piecemeal way' instead of together with those previous matters. He said this meant he would need to pass a more lenient sentence with respect to the principle of totality as if the cases had been sentenced together. David Singh, appearing for Thomas, said this mirrored the mitigation that he would have made. He added it was hoped that Thomas had employment lined up when he is released at his dad's work. Thomas was sentenced to six months detention in a Young Offender Institution, running consecutively to the sentence he was already serving. 'There is no hope for anybody who gets involved in the supply of Class A drugs or cannabis,' he warned Thomas. Swansea Crown Court heard John pleaded not guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and cannabis between August and October 2024, but admitted possession of crack cocaine. The 46-year-old, of Howarth Close, will face a trial in March.
