National Agricultural Development Co. (NADEC) said that its subsidiary, AlRai National for Livestock (a limited liability company, 51% owned by Nadec), signed a financing agreement with the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) to fund the establishment of a project focused on intensive livestock breeding (sheep and goats), reproduction, and meat production, with a ceiling of up to SAR 1.1 billion.
The financing amount will be disbursed in stages based on the project's progress and the submission of required documents.
According to a statement to Tadawul, the 15-years agreement was signed on March 23, with three years grace period.
The company clarified that the partners provided guarantees in proportion to their shares in the company, with Nadec offering one of its lands in Wadi Al-Dawasir as collateral, in addition to providing corporate guarantees from the partners in accordance with the approved format by the Agricultural Development Fund.
The agreement was signed under the sponsorship of the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) Abdulrahman AlFadley, the statement noted, adding that the project aims to enhance local red meat production by developing integrated facilities for breeding (sheep and goats), contributing to increased domestic production.
This project is part of NADEC's strategy to strengthen food security within the framework of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia's ranking on Mining Investment Attractiveness Index jumps to 23rd from 104th globally

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's mining sector has achieved a major global milestone, jumping its ranking from 104th in 2013 to 23rd in 2024 on the Investment Attractiveness Index. Saudi Arabia surpassed major mining destinations in Asia and Latin America in the index, prepared by Fraser Institute in its 2024 Annual Survey of Mining Companies. This achievement solidifies Saudi Arabia's position as one of the world's fastest-rising powers in the mining sector. According to the report, Saudi Arabia made remarkable progress in the Policy Perception Index, rising from 82nd globally in 2013 to 20th in 2024, reflecting growing international confidence in its stable regulatory environment. The Best Practices Mineral Potential Index saw an unprecedented leap, moving from 58th in 2013 to 24th in 2024, underscoring the scale of the Kingdom's vast and untapped mineral wealth, supported by ongoing geological surveys, discoveries, and widely attended mining licensing rounds. Commending the remarkable achievement, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs Eng. Khalid Al-Mudaifer said: "This outstanding performance reflects the structural transformation and holistic efforts being driven across the mining and mineral sector under Vision 2030." Over the past few years, Saudi Arabia has built a globally competitive investment environment, underpinned by clear regulations, accessible geological data, including one of the most extensive geological surveys of the Arabian Shield, competitive incentives, and world-class infrastructure. "Our focus remains on maximizing the economic value of our mineral resources, creating jobs for citizens, and localizing supply chains. Mining is no longer a traditional sector; rather, it has become a key driver of industrial and economic growth, and we are committed to building on this momentum to ensure sustainable success," he said. The Fraser Institute noted that Saudi Arabia's success was driven by broad regulatory transformations covering security of tenure, taxation, environmental legislation, infrastructure, and community engagement. These efforts enabled Saudi Arabia to enter the top quartile of the index for the first time. The report also highlighted that investors expressed no concerns regarding political stability—one of the Kingdom's key strengths—and praised the Mining Exploration Enablement Program as an effective tool for reducing investment risks and increasing confidence in early-stage projects. According to the report's data, the Kingdom has achieved exceptional improvements in key indicators between 2013 and 2024, including 305.8 percent improvement in the clarity and effectiveness of mining administration, from 17 percent in 2013 to 69 percent in 2024, ranking 11th globally; 82.2 percent improvement in clarity of land use for mining activities, from 45 percent in 2013 to 82 percent in 2024, ranking 7th globally; 102.2 percent improvement in labor regulations, from 45 percent in 2013 to 91 percent in 2024; and 81.8 percent improvement in the quality of geological databases, from 33 percent in 2013 to 60 percent in 2024. The report praised the Kingdom's stable regulatory environment and ambitious reforms, which have strengthened international investor confidence and solidified Saudi Arabia's status as a world-class mining investment destination—fully aligned with Vision 2030's goal of diversifying the economy and developing strategic sectors. The Fraser Institute's Annual Survey of Mining Companies is one of the world's most trusted benchmarks for evaluating mining investment environments and is widely used by investors, governments, and financial institutions worldwide.

Saudi banks' June profits hit record $2.63bn amid loan growth, digital boom

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's banking sector maintained its momentum in June, as aggregate profits before zakat and taxes climbed to SR 9.9 billion ($2.63 billion) — the highest monthly result on record. Data from the Saudi Central Bank, known as SAMA, shows that profits were approximately 28 percent higher than the same month last year, the fastest annual growth in six months, highlighting the sector's resilience despite global challenges. For the first half of 2025, cumulative profits reached SR51 billion, roughly 20 percent higher than the SR42.5 billion during the same period in 2024. The strong performance builds on a solid first half for the Kingdom's banking industry, which has benefited from Saudi Arabia's robust macroeconomic fundamentals and policy reforms. Supported by steady credit demand from both corporate and retail segments, healthy liquidity levels, and Vision 2030-linked infrastructure and private sector projects, lenders have maintained profitability despite global interest rate uncertainty. Analysts attribute the rise in profits in the second quarter to robust lending growth, lower impairment charges, and the sector's embrace of digital banking. AInvest noted in a July article that Saudi National Bank, the Kingdom's largest lender, delivered 17.3 percent higher net profit in the second quarter, supported by increased net special commission income and reduced credit-loss provisions. Across the sector, net profits rose 18 to 25 percent as lenders benefited from fintech integration, deeper capital markets, and broader economic diversification under Vision 2030. The report highlighted that more than 261 fintech firms now operate in the Kingdom and 79 percent of retail transactions are processed digitally, boosting fee‑based income and lowering costs. SAMA's June bulletin showed the banking system's assets reach SR4.8 trillion and claims on the private sector stood at SR3.1 trillion, reflecting strong corporate and consumer credit demand. Capital adequacy ratios remained robust at 19.3 percent, well above the regulatory minimum. The banking sector's strength has been reflected on the Saudi Exchange. Tadawul's second quarter report showed that banks accounted for SR61.58 billion of traded value — the highest among all sectors. This leadership in trading activity, ahead of most other sectors, signals strong investor confidence in banks' earnings momentum and their pivotal role in financing Vision 2030 projects. Saudi banks enter the second half of 2025 with solid capital buffers, growing fee‑based income, and a clear role in the Kingdom's economic diversification agenda. Continued reforms, including the National Debt Management Center's restructuring of $32 billion in sukuk to deepen capital markets and ongoing fintech proliferation, will support earnings. However, analysts at AInvest cautioned that geopolitical tensions, potential margin compression as global interest rates ease, and regulatory hurdles in construction financing could moderate growth. Even so, with digital adoption surging and non-oil sectors expanding, the banking industry appears well-positioned to sustain strong profitability while supporting Saudi Arabia's transformation into a diversified, knowledge‑based economy.
