Man arrested for trespassing on restricted airport ramp at Charlotte airport
CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Virginia man has been arrested after allegedly entering a restricted area where planes are located at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, raising some questions about airport access protocols.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, Elijah Nathan Pressley, 27, of Virginia Beach, was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. on April 19 after officers responded to the report of a trespasser on the ramp area near Gate D4, a secure zone typically inaccessible to the public.
Authorities said Pressley managed to bypass security measures by pushing through two clearly marked doors in the E Concourse, both warning against unauthorized access.

One of the doors, labeled with three red signs including 'Restricted Security Area,' and 'Emergency Exit Only – Alarm Will Sound,' was forced open before he continued through a second restricted-access door, eventually making his way onto the ramp where aircraft are.
Pressley was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespass on airport property.
Queen City News has reached out to Charlotte airport officials for further information. At this time, it's unclear if any flights were disrupted during this weekend's incident.
The motive behind Pressley's actions remains unclear, and authorities have not said whether alcohol, mental health concerns, or other factors played a role.
Pressley was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail and issued a $500 unsecured bond. His case is scheduled to be heard in Mecklenburg County District Court on May 15.

Georgia men accused of selling stolen construction equipment arrested in Union County: Sheriff
UNION COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two Georgia men were arrested and charged after an extensive investigation revealed the pair were selling stolen construction equipment to Union County residents. The case began in late March when a man purchased a skid steer on Facebook Marketplace. The sellers, Jahbril Kelley and Nicholas Tucker, agreed to deliver the equipment as part of the sale. After the delivery, the buyer discovered the skid steer was reported stolen and contacted law enforcement. During the investigation, Kelley and Tucker allegedly attempted to sell a second stolen skid steer to another buyer. When the men returned to Union County to deliver the equipment, they were taken into custody. In total, detectives recovered approximately $80,000 worth of construction machinery. More than $3K raised for 7-year-old girl with shattered legs, brain injury after lemonade stand crash in Burke County, family says
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — More than $3,000 has been raised in just a day for 7-year-old Annabelle, who has reportedly undergone surgery after a crash at a lemonade stand. Annabelle was seriously injured on Tuesday, June 10, when NC troopers said a car accident sent a vehicle flying off Conley Road and into the front yard where she and two other young girls were selling lemonade. The car slammed into the stand, critically injuring all three children. Annabelle was airlifted to Mission Hospital in Asheville with life-threatening injuries.
