Creighton adds MEAC POY Blake Harper from portal
Howard guard Blake Harper, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, announced he is transferring to Creighton.
As a freshman, Harper made an immediate impact in the MEAC, leading the conference in scoring at 19.5 points per game and adding 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest.
Harper, who's listed at 6-foot-8, also shot 40.4 percent from 3-point range, making 40 of 99 shots from the arc in 2024-25.
Harper follows a pair of Iowa starters to Omaha, as forward Owen Freeman (16.7 ppg last season) and guard Josh Dix (14.4) left the Hawkeyes for the Bluejays after Iowa fired coach Fran McCaffery this offseason. Creighton also signed Charlotte transfer guard Nik Graves (17.5).

She has been out for the past two weeks because of a quad injury--the first missed time because of injury in her career--but she has still been showing up at Fever games as she rehabs. Advertisement She was on hand at the United Center on Saturday night for the Fever's victory over the Chicago Sky, and spent considerable time before the game signing autographs and taking photos with fans who had come to watch her play. But she drew the line on one thing: She was not about to autograph Sky materials. That was shown in a video on X from Saturday in which Clark signed a string of autographs only to smile and pass on signing what appeared to be a Chicago Sky-colored shirt. A post from the account, "The Indiana Fever," noted, "Caitlin Clark refused to sign the Chicago Sky merch." The fan who had tried to get her to do so, it should be pointed out, laughed it off. Ironman takes competitors 70 miles around Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Ironman 70.3 kicked off early in downtown Des Moines on Sunday and took competitors on a long journey through the city. The event started at 6:30 a.m. with a 1.2-mile swim in Gray's Lake, followed by a 56-mile bike ride, and ending in a 13.1-mile run. This totals 70.3 miles, and competitors have 8 and a half hours to finish. Isaiah 117 House holds community-wide kickoff, goal to open house One runner says Sunday's race was a high point in his competition catalog. 'It feels great, I've been doing triathlons for four or five years now, I've taken second place at a few of these, so it feels good to finally cross the finish line first, while racing my teammates and enjoying the beautiful venue,' said Tyler Tanko, first runner across the finish line. Athletes finished by Cowles Commons and enjoyed the IRONMAN Village which featured new gear, food, and stores. During the award ceremony, runners were able to get their medals engraved. Luka Garza continues NBA journey, ready for summer camps
Former Hawkeye All-American and NCAA player of the year Luka Garza just completed his 4th season in the NBA. This was the first year Garza spent the entire year in Minnesota without coming back to play in the G-League in Iowa. Garza appeared in 39 games with the Timberwolves averaging 5 points 2 rebounds per. Garza says he's happy with his progress in the NBA, and knows he can earn more minutes and be a productive player in the league for a long time.
