Dana White: Rumor on UFC Apex's massive expansion 'biggest bullsh*t story ever written'
CHICAGO – Dana White isn't sure how a story he says is false was written about the UFC Apex supposedly expanding it's capacity in a big way. With the UFC signing a $7.7 billion broadcast deal with Paramount, which begins in 2026, a report emerged that the UFC Apex plans on expanding to 10,000 seats, which was later corrected in the story. Not only did White heavily dismiss the report, but said he was stunned to see UFC officials were quoted. "That was the biggest bullsh*t story ever written. It's f*cking unbelievable," White told reporters at the UFC 319 post-fight press conference. "They quoted people that literally said nothing to them – never spoke to them or anything. That entire story was a f*cking absolute bullsh*t lie – the craziest thing we've ever seen. "I called (the UFC PR director) and said 'This whole story is a lie. Everything about it is a lie, including the people that they quoted. Never talked to them.' If you look at the construction that's going on at the Apex, to even think that it's going to be a 10,000-seat arena, it's f*cking unbelievable. Complete lie. Everything about that story was a lie." The UFC Apex has hosted events ever since the global pandemic in 2020. It plays home to Dana White's Contender Series, "The Ultimate Fighter," and numerous fight night events throughout the year.
