Bibb County deputy gets backup to help remove 12-foot alligator from business
Bibb County Sheriff's Office removed a large alligator from a business on Joe Tamplin Industrial Boulevard on Saturday.
Animal Enforcement Officer Rebecca Galeazzo got to the scene to get a 12-foot alligator off of the business property.
According to the sheriff's office, the alligator crawled up to the business overnight and was not happy to go.
To tip the scales and get the beastie removed, Galeazzo had to call for backup, the sheriff's office said.
After it 'put up a fight,' the alligator was eventually captured and released unharmed back into the wild.

2-year-old shot at Ohio apartment complex; Man arrested on tampering charges
A 2-year-old was shot at an apartment complex in Cincinnati over the weekend, and a 21-year-old man is now facing charges, according to our media partners, WCPO-9 TV. WCPO-9 reported that he hasn't been charged with shooting the child, however, police have not released details on how the child was injured. It is not clear if Anderson is related to the child. Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theete issued a statement on the shooting. In part, she said she's 'outraged, heartbroken and deeply disappointed to learn that yet another child — a 2-year-old — has endured unimaginable pain and trauma after sustaining a gunshot injury this weekend.' It is unclear if Anderson will face additional charges. This shooting remains under investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department. 10-year-old brings loaded gun to Ohio elementary school; Police reveal where he got it from
A 10-year-old boy is facing charges after he brought a loaded gun to an Ohio elementary school last month, according to our CBS affiliate in Cleveland, WOIO-19. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Jackson Township Police officers responded to reports of a third-grade student at Sauder Elementary with a loaded 45-caliber gun in his backpack around 12:30 p.m. on May 16. WOIO-19 reported that the student reportedly threatened a student and the school resource officer. Jackson Township police said everyone at the school followed safety protocols when the incident occurred. In an email to families, Jackson Local School District said in part, 'We know hearing this news is distressing. We want to reassure you that the safety and well-being of your children is our highest priority. Our district's safety protocols were followed and worked as designed. We appreciate our student seeing something and saying something.' WOIO-19 reported that the child's father is cooperating with police in this investigation. 'Now that the investigation is complete, the case will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office to determine if any further charges will be filed,' the spokesperson wrote in a press release. U.S. Department of Labor pauses operations at Job Corps centers
The U.S. Department of Labor announced it will begin a phased pause in operations at Job Corps centers nationwide, including Georgia. Wisemon learned of the sudden closures just a few days ago. 'How can y'all promise something and then take it away?' asked Wisemon. Job Corps is a residential career training and education program. Wisemon heads the student government association at a Job Corps center. He said he believes the pause will impact thousands of at-risk students. 'We're looking at youth that are caring and hoping for a second chance at life,' Wisemon explained. On Monday, Washington spoke with former Job Corps contractor Kip Carr. 'It directly affects the working-class people,' said Carr. 'It was helping a lot of people get a job.
