Newcastle United Identify This Manchester United Attacker As A Target: Decent Choice For Howe?

Yahoo8 hours ago

In a recent report, The Sun claimed that Newcastle United have identified Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford as a target. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the English wide player on a season-long deal.
Rashford's Impressive Loan Spell At Villa Park
Rashford enjoyed a decent loan spell at Aston Villa last season when he put in a handful of promising displays for them in the final third. The England international played in 17 matches for the Villans in the previous campaign, scoring four goals and picking up six assists across multiple competitions.

The 27-year-old deserves a ton of credit for averaging 3.65 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League but only kept 27.8% of his attempts on target. However, he has to find a way to improve his ball distribution in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 71.3% in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at his parent club Manchester United will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for the Magpies to sign him on a cut-price deal.

Is Rashford A Decent Choice For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?
Rashford is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it in and around the opponent's penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net.

The England international can chip in by scoring his fair share of goals up top when he is playing well on the field. He mainly operates as a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or play as a centre-forward if asked to do so.
We can expect Rashford to add more pace and goals to Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe's frontline. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Tyneside club in the coming seasons.
At 27, Rashford has his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for the Magpies to consider in this summer transfer window.

Jeremie Frimpong tells Liverpool exactly what to expect from Florian Wirtz

Jeremie Frimpong has backed Florian Wirtz to shine at Liverpool despite the pressure that inevitably will come with his record-breaking transfer fee. The German completed his £100M ($135M) move to Anfield on Friday, which is the highest transfer figure ever paid by the Reds, while a further £16M ($22M) in additional add-ons could make Wirtz's arrival the most expensive transfer in Premier League history. Advertisement Given FSG 's usually tight-fisted approach, committing to such a lavish transfer fee underlines Liverpool's internal belief that it has signed one of the most talented young players on the planet. (Bradley Collyer/PA via AP) DUBLIN (AP) — England will debate the worth of taking Immanuel Feyi-Waboso on its Americas tour next month after the winger received a two-match suspension on Sunday. Feyi-Waboso was sent off during the England XV's 26-24 loss to a France XV on Saturday at Twickenham. Advertisement He caught Antoine Hastoy in the head with a swinging right arm in an attempted first-half tackle. His yellow card was upgraded on review to a 20-minute red card. A World Rugby disciplinary hearing confirmed it was a dangerous tackle and suspended Feyi-Waboso for both of England's tests in Argentina on July 5 and 12. He will be available for the test against the United States on July 19 in Washington, D.C., if he completes World Rugby's tackle school. Saturday's game was Feyi-Waboso's first action since December, when he dislocated his shoulder. He missed the Six Nations and a possible place in the British and Irish Lions squad. Richard Hughes WILL finalise deal for £65m star - even if he doesn't know it yet

Richard Hughes WILL finalise deal for £65m star - even if he doesn't know it yet Liverpool were already a force of nature to be reckoned with in the transfer market before Richard Hughes became the club's sporting director, but now it seems the Reds have gone up a level. This summer's transfer business has been nothing short of remarkable so far, leaving the fans in awe of what they're seeing. By all accounts, the recruitment team still have plenty more up their sleeve. Advertisement Being the first club to trigger Jeremie Frimpong's release clause was a stroke of genius, signing Florian Wirtz for £100m plus £16m in ambitious add-ons and then getting £10m for Trent Alexander-Arnold to leave a month before his contract expired. These are just incredibly brilliant deals. And then we have the 'Here We Go' for Jarrel Quansah to join Leverkusen for £35m (including add-ons), which makes him the German club's record transfer. Embedding a buy-back clause into the deal made it a no-brainer. If he fails, we have £30m; if he excels, we have priority to sign him again. Now, the Reds might be on the brink of yet another piece of shrewd transfer market business. © IMAGO Guehi to Liverpool is just a matter of time Liverpool are reportedly interested in Marc Guehi - the Crystal Palace captain, who is a centre-back with vast experience. Despite having an extensive reputation, the Englishman is just 24 years old and he would help the Reds fill the homegrown hole left in the squad after Quansah's departure. Advertisement However, the player is in demand. Last season, Newcastle made a £65m bid for him which was declined and Tottenham also made an approach of £55m plus £15m in add-ons, which was also dismissed. Palace are unlikely to be helping Guehi pack his bags to move to Merseyside. But the situation this year is very different to last. He now has just one year left on his deal and contract talks are uncooperative. It is will understood that he will leave, either this year or next. As such, Liverpool are in a position to be a little bit cheeky with their approach. Claims of £30m might well be short of the mark, but £50m including add-ons might well suffice. After all, he's an extremely talented player who could replace Virgil Van Dijk in the long-term after 2027. One thing for sure is that Liverpool will get him if they want him. That much shouldn't be in doubt.
