Singer Rihanna has confirmed she is expecting her third baby while attending fashion's biggest night of the year, the Met Gala in New York.Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, already have two sons.A$AP Rocky thanked reporters who offered their congratulations on the red carpet. "It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up," he said.
The high-profile Met Gala is a benefit event for New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and marks the opening of its Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit.A$AP Rocky, a co-chair of the event, confirmed the news on the red carpet."Thank you, thank you, thank you," the rapper said. "I'm glad everybody's happy for us because we're definitely happy", he added.
The couple's first son RZA was born in May 2022 and their second son, Riot, was born in August 2023.
The pop star and businesswoman made another high-profile pregnancy announcement when she performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023. She's not the first star to reveal their baby bump at the Met Gala, the tennis player, Serena Williams and model Karlie Kloss both publicly revealed their pregnancies at the 2023 event.

And reflecting on the show, she beams: 'I had so much fun.' That's evident from the moment Shakira bursts on to the stage, after a film showed an AI version of the singer with a missing arm, emerging from a pile of sand and putting itself back together. In an empowering speech, she tells the crowd: 'Many of you know that the past years haven't been the easiest for me, right? But who doesn't have a fall here and there, right? During Te Felicit, a song in which she says congratulations to a man who has broken her heart, she tries to reprogram a dancer dressed as a male robot so that he isn't a misogynist. But he still touches her bum and turns out to be a dud in bed when she gets cosy with him in the centre of the stage. During one interlude, there are visuals of a wolf with two cubs, representing the She-Wolf singer and her sons Milan, 12, and Sasha, ten, who both lend their vocals to song Acrostico. But Shakira balances her own turmoil with fun and froth — with a whopping 14 outfits on show. For her second song, the catchy Black Eyed Peas collaboration Girl Like Me, she unzips her jacket to show a silver vest top, which she then tears off to reveal a glittery pink mini dress. There is a sea of lights across the stadium as fans wave their light-up wristbands in unison. And Shakira pulls on everything from sparkly bodysuits to ball gowns and bra tops. I'm told it took ten months to design the show, and given the attention to detail you can see why. At 48, Shakira seems to have discovered the elixir of life, because she looks and moves like someone half her age. By the halfway point of the concert, temperatures are 30C and I have sweat running down my face. Yet Shakira, who is marking three decades since her first headline concert, is running across the stage and twerking without so much as a moist brow. In fact, she looks even fitter and healthier than when she first became a household name in the UK in the early-Noughties. She is in tip-top form for this tour, which kicked off in February and Shakira describes as her 'most ambitious'. She is constantly working out and has two physiotherapists with her on the road. And I can attest that her backstage catering area, where I had dinner before the show, has plenty of healthy options including grilled red snapper, Peruvian chicken and cauliflower steak. A significant part of the show features Spanish-language songs, which have sometimes held the singer back in the UK, given most of us Brits can barely understand a word. Tender moment But as more and more non- English acts gain traction here in Blighty — such as K-Pop stars BTS and Blackpink and Spanish-speaking rapper Bad Bunny — now is her time. At the show she is joined by two special guests: Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, to perform their song Monotonia together for the first time, and Spanish Alejandro Sanz for the danceable La Tortura. During Soltera she pole- dances on a giant letter S before changing the pace for the piano-driven ballad Ultima, which she sings atop a mound of diamonds. When the tour does eventually come to our shores, it is bound to be the English language tunes that keep the audience on their feet. There's an understated rendition of her 2002 belter Underneath Your Clothes, a traditional dance with knives for her megahit Whenever Wherever, and a mass howl-along for She-Wolf, complete by a gigantic wolf image that towers over the audience. Then she throws an on-stage, multi- coloured carnival for 2010 smash-hit World Cup anthem, Waka Waka (This Time For Africa). One surprising omission from the setlist is Beautiful Liar, her 2006 collaboration with Beyonce, which topped the charts here. But in a tender moment, Shakira reveals it was her fellow artist's 2023 Renaissance tour that inspired her to organise her own. Shakira, whose North American dates were upgraded from arenas to stadiums due to overwhelming demand, explains: 'To see this place this packed, it's a dream for me. It's surreal. 'The last time I came to Hard Rock Stadium, I saw Beyonce's show and I said to myself, 'How amazing would it be if I could play the stadium one day?' 'How amazing that tonight, I'm here playing two stadiums. I have the best crowd in the world. You make all of my dreams come true.' There is no doubt that she is stronger than ever before. This show cemented Shakira as a true music icon. 'There's lots of opportunities in this from a branding point of view - and with 25m Instagram followers, she's got a lot of influence!' Last week, the Euphoria star confirmed reports that had been circulating since February, that, after seven years, she'd broken up with fiancé Jonathan Davino. Speaking to The Sunday Times Style magazine, she said she was now single, adding, 'I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it.' 'I think that's what's great about her - she owns herself and she owns the way she looks. 'She's a bit like Sabrina Carpenter - they both own their sexuality and it's up to them what they push and what they don't push.' Of course, this isn't the first time that Sydney has leaned into her desirability to earn the big bucks. In 2023, she starred in the romcom Anyone But You - but it was the press tour to promote the movie that had fans running to the cinemas, as they couldn't get enough of Sydney's 'are they - aren't they' chemistry with co-star Glen Powell. And she spends it well, admitting she's 'obsessed with Zillow' (America's version of Rightmove), and has invested in a highly lucrative property portfolio that includes homes in Bel Air, Los Angeles, Florida Keys, and several more properties in the Pacific Northwest. She also has a vintage car collection - which she last added to with a $68,500 Fiat Jolly. Meanwhile, the savvy star has also cemented herself behind the camera in Hollywood, producing Anyone But You and her recent film Immaculate. She's also producing her two upcoming movies - The Housemaid, and an untitled biopic about the boxer Christy Martin. However, as she herself has previously said, the acting and producing gigs only go so far - especially in today's economy. 'They don't pay actors like they used to,' she said in 2022. 'And with streamers, you no longer get residuals'. On brand That's where the brand deals come in. According to Nick, Sydney's massive following - which eclipses most actresses working today - guarantees her a sizeable income from sponsored content. That means that, the way things are going, she could easily double her fortune in no time. 'She could absolutely double it - I think she could be making hundreds of thousands per post,' he explains. 'She's wearing clothes from the likes of Miu Miu and jewellery from De Beers - ultra fabulous stuff. Some stars in the past have tried and failed to be both commercial and respected in acting circles, but Sydney's somehow struck that balance. If she were a mediocre actress, she couldn't have done this Nick Ede According to Nick, her brand comes down to some excellent strategising and talent management. 'If she were a mediocre actress, she couldn't have done this,' he says. 'Look at Megan Fox, who kind of ruined her career because her sexuality came before her acting. 'Sydney's different - she's got really great range, and also has that respect of Hollywood, which allows her to do these brand deals. 'She's very clever - and the team behind her must be really clever as well. Everyone understands what she's doing. 'She's peppering the deals with movies and she's not over-saturating in either arena - that means we'll keep buying into her.' As for where she goes from here, it seems the sky's the limit for Hollywood's ultimate It Girl. She'll soon be starring as boxer Christy - in a film that's already being pegged for Oscar success. Meanwhile, in the meantime, she's proving she's got enough self-awareness - and cheekiness - to cash in on her sex appeal. Beyoncé's London Cowboy Carter show made me homesick for a US that doesn't exist
When Beyoncé sang the American national anthem on the first night of her London Cowboy Carter tour dates, I instinctively placed my cowboy hat over my heart, unsure whether I was pledging allegiance to the US flag or Beyoncé herself. As Tottenham Hotspur Stadium filled with (nearly) 62,000 Londoners in chaps, Levi's, cowboy boots, and the occasional bolo tie, I bizarrely felt more connected to the country I left nearly three years ago than I ever did during my final decade living there. That might be because Beyoncé presents a version of the American South not as it is, but as it could be: inclusive, textured, full of contradiction and pride, defiant of unjust power structures, and rooted in the stories of people who refused to disappear – no matter how hard the world tried to erase them. This defiance is nothing new for her. Beyoncé has long navigated the delicate balance between American patriotism and protest. She's been criticized for everything from her 2016 Super Bowl performance that paid tribute to the Black Panthers, to her support of Black Lives Matter, to the visual album Lemonade, which unapologetically explored infidelity, rage, and Black womanhood. And then there's the country music establishment, which has famously tried to keep Beyonce on the outside. Which is why this concert felt revolutionary in a time of political was reclaiming a genre, a flag, and a cultural identity, not just for herself, but for everyone who's ever been told they don't belong. While I was moved to tears repeatedly by this message, I did wonder if the concert didn't strike an interesting chord with a UK crowd. Could it be alienating to anyone who didn't grow up listening to Willie Nelson in the backseat of their daddy's pickup? Maybe. But it doesn't matter. Even if the images of pioneering black country singer Sister Rosetta Thorpe were lost on you or if you didn't immediately recognise a famous Texas line dance when it broke out on stage, the power of the performance could not be ignored. While the country album's contents take up almost half the set, there was something for everyone. Fans were treated to Crazy In Love, If I Were A Boy, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), a very short rendition of To the Left, Daddy Lessons from Lemonade, and several hits from Renaissance. It's a goose-bump-inducing pleasure just to watch her strut the length of the stage and flip her hair, so when she joins in the choreography, it feels like staggering generosity from a star with nothing left to prove. Perhaps the most moving moment of the show came when the singer stood completely motionless in a dress that, via projection, changed colors and designs in sync with the soaring notes of the song Daughter. It's a song that references the violence and toxic Christianity woven into the fabric of Southern culture, and when she sings:'Now I ripped your dress and you're all black and blue/ Look what you made me do..' it's with all the power and perspective of a Shakespearan monologue. So when a message that read, 'THIS IS THEATRE' later flashed across the screen, it felt undeniably true. Almost counterintuitively, becoming the most famous person in the world allows Beyoncé the freedom to be herself. She grinned at the crowd after every voice in the place shouted along to Box to the Left, giggling and saying into the mic: 'Did y'all know every world to that thang? Did that just happen like that?' One of the most talked-about moments of the night came during her performance of Protector. As she sang, her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy – who performs as a backup dancer throughout the show – stood just behind her. Then, to a roar of surprise and delight from the crowd, seven-year-old Rumi walked on stage and wrapped her arms around her mother in a tender hug. There had been speculation about whether Rumi would appear during the London shows, so the eruption of cheers visibly delighted the little girl, and Beyoncé's beaming smile read as nothing but genuine pride. With another artist, this level of family involvement might risk feeling gimmicky or even exploitative. But Beyoncé – who's long past the point of doing anything she doesn't want to – makes it feel like something else entirely: a mother sharing her passion with her daughters and loving them boldly, in front of the world. More Trending My only criticism worth mentioning has nothing to do with Beyonce or her crew. Bizarrely, given that it's a football stadium, the venue seemed startlingly unprepared for the crowd's exit. A chaotic queue system for the overground descended into confused chaos, and buses literally passed by crowds of concertgoers, unwilling or unable to take on the cowboy-hat-clad masses. But a two-and-a-half hour journey home is a small price to pay for a night that combined the best of stadium concerts, political commentary, theatre, and star power so bright it was almost blinding. Thanks to Beyonce, for the first time in a long time, I feel proud to be an American. Got a story?
