Qatar reiterates condemnation of Israeli attack on Iran

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Dr Abbas Araqchi on Saturday.
The meeting was held on the margin of the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), currently taking place in Istanbul, Turkey.
Discussion during the meeting focused on the latest developments in the region, particularly the continued Israeli aggression against the territory of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran.
In this context, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli aggression against Iranian territory, considering it a flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, and a clear breach of the rules and principles of international law.
The PM stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through diplomatic means, affirming that the State of Qatar is making strenuous efforts with its partners to return to the path of dialogue to address outstanding issues and consolidate security and peace in the region and the world.

WASHINGTON: The United States struck three sites in Iran early Sunday, inserting itself into Israel's war aimed at destroying the country's nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe despite fears of a wider regional conflict. Addressing the nation from the White House, President Donald Trump asserted that Iran's key nuclear sites were 'completely and fully obliterated.' There was no independent damage assessment. TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that his country reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people in accordance with the UN Charter. "The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran's peaceful nuclear installations," Araghchi said on X. "In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defence, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people," he added. The Iranian Foreign Minister's post comes following US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan.

DOHA: The State of Qatar has expressed its regret over the deterioration of the situation following the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, noting that it is following with great concern the developments following the recent attacks on the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran, which targeted its nuclear facilities. In this context, it stressed the need to halt all military operations and immediately return to dialogue and diplomatic tracks to resolve outstanding issues. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the current dangerous tensions in the region will lead to disastrous repercussions at the regional and international levels. It hopes that all parties will exercise wisdom and restraint at this time, and avoid an escalation that the peoples of the region, burdened by conflicts and their tragic humanitarian consequences, cannot tolerate. The Ministry also affirmed the State of Qatar's full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at settling disputes and defusing crises through peaceful means to consolidate peace and stability in the region.
