Can YOU guess who the young Prince is in this photo after he was compared to Princess Anne's granddaughter Isla Phillips?

Daily Mail14-05-2025

Princess Anne 's granddaughter Isla Phillips has been compared to a late Prince in comparison snaps dating back to the 1930s.
Isla, who is the daughter of Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips and his ex-partner Autumn Kelly, has recently garnered attention for her striking resemblance to her late great-grandfather, Prince Philip.
A side-by-side analysis of the images of the two royals was shared on the Instagram page @pgeorge.roya l earlier today - and the resemblance between Isla and Prince Philip is striking.
The facial similarities emphasised the strong familial connections within the royal lineage.
Many pointed out that their shared features include their fair complexion, blonde hair, strong jawline, and almond-shaped eyes.
Isla, who is the great-granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, is often noted for her resemblance to her great-grandfather - including at King Charles 's coronation concert in 2023.
At the time, one royal observer highlighted the likeness between Isla and her great-grandfather in a post on their Instagram account @philibeth_wales.
The caption read: 'Isla Phillips (Peter Phillips' daughter) and Prince Philip (her great-grandfather). I can definitely see a resemblance.'
Fellow royal fans agreed with the comparison, with one person writing: 'Yes agree, the cheekbones the nose and the mouth.'
'Wow, those genetics from her great-grandfather,' another said.
A third commented: 'She is lovely and Prince Phillip was so handsome!'
However other commenters claimed Isla also shares features with her grandmother, Princess Anne.
'I find her identical to Anne Princess Royal when she was young,' one wrote, while another commented: 'I see Princess Anne.'
Isla is 19th in line to the throne and enjoys all the comforts of being part of the extended royal family without the pressure of a life of duties ahead of her.
She does not have a royal title. Princess Anne turned down the Queen's offer of titles for her children, Peter and Zara. As a result the grandchildren don't have titles, either.
Living on Princess Anne's 700-acre Gatcombe Park Estate, Isla and her older sister Savannah are in close proximity to their Tindall cousins - Mia, Lena and Lucas - and the boisterous posse are regularly seen in the great outdoors.
Although they're growing up out of the spotlight, Isla and her sister Savannah are recognisable from their attendance at royal events such as the Queen's Platinum Jubilee - and they're known for adding a touch of mischief to these formal occasions.
At Princess Eugenie's wedding in October 2018, for instance, Savannah, now 14, entertained Prince George by imitating the trumpet fanfare to announce the arrival of the Queen, as the then-toddler erupted in fits of giggles.
With only 15 months between Isla and her older sister Savannah, it's no surprise the pair are growing up with a close bond, although the elder girl seems to be the ringleader for most of the light-hearted mischief.
Their parents, Peter and Autumn, announced they were separating in 2020, with the divorce finalised in 2021.
They have been amicably co-parenting, with pictures showing Autumn, her new love Donal Mulryan - an Irish construction company boss - and Savannah and Isla on a Mother's Day outing to the Cirencester horse trials.
Meanwhile, Peter has found happiness with oil heiress girlfriend Lindsay Wallace.
Born at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, weighing 7lbs 4oz during the Queen's milestone Jubilee year, it's no surprise that Isla's second name is Elizabeth in honour of her grandmother.
There was also sadness for Isla and her sister in recent years when they lost their beloved great-grandparents in quick succession.
Isla put on a brave face when she spent her tenth birthday attending a memorial service for Prince Philip in March 2022, held at Westminster Abbey after only 30 people could attend his funeral the previous year due to Covid restrictions.

Isla was also present for the Queen's funeral, where she wore a riding crop and stirrup brooch to her great-grandmother's funeral in a subtle tribute to Her Majesty's love of riding.
While Isla maintains a relatively low public profile compared to some of her cousins, she occasionally makes appearances at family events.
On Sunday, the Princess Royal's grandchildren enjoyed a family day out - as they gathered to show support for Zara Tindall at an equestrian trial.
Isla and her older sister Savannah, 14, took selfies with their cousin Mia Tindall, 11 - who was on hand to cheer on her mother - as they took in the fifth and final day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials.
Looking sporty and casual, Savannah opted for a slouchy quarter-zip with shorts, and wore her wavy hair down, while her sister Isla was trendy in a Von Dutch cap and grey top.
Elsewhere, little Mia was adorable as ever in a chic white shirt and hat, teamed with a fun patterned skirt.
The kids clearly enjoyed some girl time as they were spotted chatting up a storm in the stands.
Their father Peter, 47, looked after the royal cousins with his girlfriend Harriet Sperling, who looked summary and glam in a white and navy patterned dress.
Meanwhile, Princess Anne's son looked ready for every weather in a pinstripe button-down, gilet and a cap - along with aviator shades.
In one sweet father-daughter bonding moment, Isla could be seen huddling up to her dad for a cuddle.
The family was out to support the King's niece Zara, 43, who looked to be in high spirits as she collected a revered accolade at the event.
The mother-of-three beamed as she posed with other attendees in Gloucestershire.
Radiating sporty casual, the daughter of Princess Anne dressed for the warmer weather in wide-leg jeans and a blue cropped jacket, adorned with golden buttons.
She kept her blonde tresses out of her face with a ponytail, and looked excited to chat with others at event - even being snapped giggling at something.
Keeping her look practical yet classy, the mother-of-three donned simple white trainers.
For her make-up, Zara opted for a fresh-faced visage that accentuated her eyes, and kept accessories minimal.
The Badminton Horse Trials are known to be 'one of the toughest and most exciting equestrian events – the pinnacle of the worldwide horse trials calendar'.
For four days, competitors are tested on a myriad of disciplines, including dressage, a cross country course and show jumps.
It was also a big day for Zara, who collected her first 'Armada Dish', which is usually awarded for five completions of the event.

Prince William enjoys impromptu pint at the pub with locals after braving the rain for muddy Dartmoor visit

PRINCE William enjoyed an impromptu pint during a muddy visit to Dartmoor yesterday. The Duke of Cornwall braved heavy rain and wind to visit Royal Tor Bog, near Yelverton, Devon, and spoke to men and women working in collaboration to help restore the "special" landscape. 4 4 After working up a thirst, William headed to the Prince of Wales pub in the picturesque village of Princetown. He sipped on a local cider at the bar and chatted to locals before making his way home. The Prince's project will focus on a "coordinated public and private investment" to restore peatlands and upland mosaic habitats in the south Devon area. 'I'm keen to continue my father's work as well,' said William, who inherited responsibility for the land with the Duchy of Cornwall in 2022. 'For me it's about the impact, I want to see stuff actually happen. We've done the talking now, we've put the vision together, the design, now it's about the activation.' Pointing to an area of bog which has been restored, he added: 'Even though this is a small bit, we need to get more and more of this going on all around Dartmoor to bring it back to its former glory while still keeping the farming and everything else going.' The Prince spoke out after discussing a new 20-year plan to give fresh life to Dartmoor's wilderness while helping to protect it from climate change with a group including Tony Juniper, chair of Natural England and Phil Stocker, Chair of Dartmoor Land Use Management Group. As they chatted in the steady downpour, the Prince joked: 'I came to talk about the fires and a plan to re-wet peat!' Referring to the Landscape Vision, he said: 'To be able to bring everyone together, I think, is not only crucial to the whole thing but it sets a model for how it can be done elsewhere. "And that's what I love doing. Whatever we do here, other people can follow what we're doing. 'So much of it is local leadership and collaboration. If you put those two together, things can be adapted.' The Prince said not everyone believed the vision to restore the land within just two decades was possible. '[They said] 20 years, good luck, it's going to take longer than that! These things take time, they really do. "But at least if you set up a path and move in that direction, everyone will move in the same direction.' The Prince heard from Stocker how they had been 'making progress' in bringing different people on board with the plan. 'The one thing that has come through is the enthusiasm," Phil said. Morag Angus, of the South West Peatland Partnership, told William how the land they were looking at had become more barren and dry and was benefitting from a 're-wetting' process. She said afterwards: 'If someone like the Prince is coming down here, it just shows that he's thinking about it and how important is. "And I think it just galvanizes everyone and gets everyone on board and gets them coming here to talk about it, but also to make sure we action things and we make meaningful restoration happen. "See it happening, rather than just talking about it." 4 4

King presents new Colours to Coldstream Guards

King Charles has presented new Colours to the Coldstream Guards during a ceremony at Windsor Castle, marking the regiment's 375th anniversary. Troops from the 1st and 2nd Battalions paraded on Friday morning before the King's official birthday celebrations in London this weekend. The soldiers marched from Victoria Barracks through Windsor town centre, accompanied by the Band of the Coldstream Guards, before entering the castle. The old Colours were formally marched off to the sound of Auld Lang Syne. The youngest soldier on parade was 18, while the oldest was a 67-year-old veteran. Lieutenant Max Martin, 24, admitted he smirked as he was mentioned by the King during his address. He said: 'It was an absolutely incredible day. It caught me completely off guard - the first thing I thought about was my mum and dad in the stands and how excited they would have been to hear my name. 'I tried my best not to let out a grin, but as His Majesty pushed up the King's Colour and said good luck for tomorrow, I couldn't help but have a little smirk to myself.' He added: 'The eagle eyes of the Garrison Sergeant Major were watching me, so I tried to cover it up but I couldn't help myself.' Around 1,000 guests watched the event in the roasting sun inside the Quadrangle, with around another 100 members of the public gathered outside the castle gates trying to catch a glimpse. A traditional drumhead service followed, with regimental drums stacked to form a makeshift altar. The new Colours were laid on top and consecrated by the Chaplain-General. The King, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment, touched each Colour before formally presenting them to the Guards. 'It gives me enormous pride, as your Colonel-in-Chief, to be able to present these new Colours to you today in the presence of the wider Regimental family,' he said. 'Each and every one of you on parade today is now part of that great legacy.' The new Colours display 44 of the regiment's 113 battle honours, ranging from Tangier in 1680 to the Gulf in 1991. They also bear the eight-pointed Star of the Order of the Garter and the King's Crown, featured for the first time in 70 years. 'These Colours, encompassing your richly deserved battle honours, are a gallant testament to the outstanding courage, fortitude and spirit that the Regiment has always displayed throughout our nation's history,' the King said. He also paid tribute to the families of serving soldiers, adding: 'I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks for your tremendous, unwavering support and encouragement.' The Coldstream Guards are the oldest continuously serving regiment in the British Army, founded in 1650 during the English Civil War. They serve both in frontline military operations and in ceremonial duties, including guarding royal residences. They have recently deployed to Iraq, supported training efforts in Ukraine, and delivered military instruction in West Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East. 'You have done so much to support both Ukraine and the United Kingdom's own security,' the King said. After the presentation, the Colours were returned to the regiment's ensigns, who took up position in front of the parade. The Guards then gave three cheers and a Royal Salute before marching off. The King remained in the Quadrangle later in the day to meet serving guardsmen, families, veterans and the bereaved.
