Each episode unravels a crime that shares uncanny similarities with high profile cases including Laci Peterson, Chandra Levy, and the Craigslist Killer. Cases covered include Evelyn Hernandez, a pregnant mother who disappeared with her 5-year-old-son before her remains, like Laci Peterson's, were found in the San Francisco Bay; Joyce Chiang, a promising young attorney who vanished and was found dead in Washington, DC like Chandra Levy; and The Tagged Killer, an American serial killer who used social networking, like the Craigslist Killer, to lure women to secluded locations where some met their tragic deaths. The series includes exclusive interviews with friends and families of the victims as they fought for attention and justice for their loved ones, exploring the possible connections to the highly publicized cases.
The series not only shares new details on these overlooked crimes, but it also asks the question – why didn't they get the same level of attention as their notorious eerily similar counterparts?
'With Murder Has Two Faces, I wanted to challenge the narrative around whose stories get told — and why,' said executive producer and director Cortés. 'These cases are as haunting, as tragic, and as deserving of national attention as the ones we all know. ABC News Studios and Robin Roberts were the perfect partners in helping bring visibility to these hidden figures. By spotlighting these overlooked lives, we're not just telling true crime stories — we're confronting the biases that determine which victims are seen, heard, and afforded justice.'
Murder Has Two Faces is produced by Cortés Filmworks and Blue Ant Studios for ABC News Studios. Lisa Cortés serves as director and executive producer. Jon Sechrist, Tara Malone, Laura Michalchyshyn, Matthew Hornburg and Mark J.W. Bishop serve as executive producers. For ABC News Studios, Claire Weinraub is executive producer, Katie Conway is senior producer, and David Sloan serves as senior executive producer.

Harris Yulin, prolific stage and screen actor of ‘Ghostbusters II' fame, dead at 87
Actor Harris Yulin, an Emmy-nominated actor who appeared in projects including 'Frasier' and 'Ghostbusters II,' has died. He was 87. The news was confirmed by Yulin's manager Sue Leibman, who said in an email to CNN that he passed away June 10 in New York City from a cardiac arrest. Yulin was a decorated theater actor, playing Hamlet three times off-Broadway and appearing in plays on Broadway including 'Hedda Gabler,' 'The Price' and 'The Visit.' He also taught at NYC's prestigious Juilliard School for eight years. Leibman's email said Yulin was working on new projects with actor and longtime collaborator Stacy Keach up until the time of his death. The actor brought his theatrical stage presence into his film work, appearing in 'Looking for Richard' with Al Pacino in 1996. Yulin is perhaps best known to audiences as the angry judge in 1989's 'Ghostbusters II' who unwittingly causes the supernatural goo to boil over and ghosts to wreak havoc in the courtroom. His other notable film roles included parts in 'Scarface,' 'Clear and Present Danger,' 'Training Day' and 'Multiplicity.' On the small screen, Yulin scored an Emmy nomination for his work on 'Frasier' in 1996. He also appeared on 'Veep,' 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' 'And Just Like That…,' 'Billions' and 'Divorce.' Recently, Yulin had a major arc on the hit Netflix series 'Ozark' opposite Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. In the weeks prior to his death, Yulin was preparing to work on a new TV series costarring Linney along with Kevin Kline titled 'American Classic.' The director of that series, Michael Hoffman, called Yulin 'very simply one of the greatest artists I have ever encountered,' according to a statement provided by Leibman. 'And what he was as an actor, he was as a man, the grace, the humility, the generosity. All of us at 'American Classic' have been blessed by our experience with him,' Hoffman added. Yulin is survived by his wife Kristen Lowman, a son-in-law, a nephew and godchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, actress Claire Lucido, Leibman said.

‘Materialists' Filmmaker Celine Song Knows Something About Love
The best romantic comedies in and of themselves become timeless Bibles of life. Woody Allen's Annie Hall didn't just speak to the 1970s single folk but also to any teenager in a future era going through heartbreak. More from Deadline 'How To Train Your Dragon' Won't Be Laggin' At Summer Box Office With $175M-$185M Global Start For Live-Action Redo - Preview 'Materialists' Review: Dakota Johnson Measures Value Of Love Between Chris Evans And Pedro Pascal in Celine Song's Sublime Romcomdram From Grammy Nominated Hip Hop Artist To Indie Filmmaker With 'Paradise Records': The Rise Of Logic - Crew Call Podcast Ditto for 2009's 500 Days of Summer: It may have been about millennials and for millennials, but carried themes about the pursuit of love that any fortysomething could relate to. And, so, we arrive at Celine Song's Materialists which is a deconstruction of the singledom that's absolutely now, steeped in its social media marketability and posh wants, but at the end of the day it's the raw, shabby, sincere form of love which wins out. In turning the romcom on its head (though Jane Austen's Emma does come to mind), Dakota Johnson plays Lucy, a high-end matchmaker in NYC who contends with her clients lofty wants in a mate. Lucy, who knows everything there is about marketability in the game of courtship, falls for the ultimate unicorn in Pedro Pascal's ultimate rich dude, Harry. But then Lucy's ex, John (an amazing, no-holds-barred Chris Evans) reenters the picture. He doesn't have Harry's wallet, but, man, he knows what makes Lucy tick (beer and soda). Before she was an Oscar nominated filmmaker, Song was a matchmaker ten years ago. 'I learned more about people in those six months, than in any other part of my life,' she tells us today on Crew Call. Though she doesn't consider herself an expert on love, you can't deny her knowledge. Move over, Leo Buscaglia. 'Love is a completely mysterious thing that we don't have a solution for,' says Song about the difference between dating and finding the love of your life. 'Love is something that humbles us, that ask us to surrender, it's the one that asks us to be our purist, most simple self,' Song shares, 'When love is offered to you, all you can say is 'Deal'. You can say 'Yes, deal. I want this love in my life.' Materialists opens this Friday. Best of Deadline 'Stick' Release Guide: When Do New Episodes Come Out?
