Libya strongly condemns Israeli occupation's attacks on Syria
The Ministry considered these "criminal attacks a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and the principles of international law," stressing that such strikes only further complicate the security and humanitarian situation across the region and contribute to destabilizing Syria, a country that has suffered for years from the ravages of war and destruction.
The Foreign Ministry called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities regarding these 'irresponsible violations,' urging immediate action to halt the aggression and ensure respect for Syria's sovereignty as a member of the United Nations and the unity of its territory. It reiterated its full solidarity with the Syrian people, stressing its support for their aspirations to achieve security and stability.
Israeli forces carried out heavy airstrikes on Damascus, Suwayda, and Daraa, targeting several sites, especially the Ministry of Defense headquarters, the General Staff, and the vicinity of the presidential palace. The attacks coincided with the deployment of armed forces to the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, under the pretext of protecting the Druze from attacks in southern Syria. Syrian Ministry of Health said that the airstrikes on the capital resulted in the death of 3 people and the injury of 34 others. Tags: Syria Israel
