Real Madrid star Luka Modric, 39, buying £1.1m house in SWANSEA after shock investment as he's tipped for transfer

REAL Madrid super-star Luka Modric is set to buy a £1.1m house on the outskirts of Swansea, leaving excited fans gobsmacked.
The Ballon d'Or winner is snapping up a five-bedroom mansion in the Gower village of Three Crosses, according to a well-placed source.

Modric, 39, was spotted at the property and his arrival quickly became the talk of the wealthy neighbourhood.
It comes after he confirmed he's leaving Real Madrid - leaving Swans at fever pitch he'll soon be joining the Championship side.
One neighbour said: 'We don't host many Galacticos in Swansea so it was a bit of a surprise to see him on our doorstep.
'But it's a fantastic house close to the beach and I'm sure he will enjoy exploring the Gower and the local restaurants.
'I doubt we have as many fancy nightclubs as they do in Madrid, but we have plenty of good pubs where he will be made to feel very welcome.'
Father-of-three Modric is buying the huge mansion with a pool table from former Swansea footballer Leon Britton, who put the property on the market in 2017.
Modric still owns a £10.1m home in Madrid but decided to create a base in the Welsh city after taking a minority stake in Swansea City, whose training ground is a short drive from the mansion.
Former Tottenham midfielder Modric was announced as a co-investor and owner in Swansea City last month having become the most decorated player in Real Madrid history - winning six Champions Leagues, six Club World Cups, five European Super Cups, four La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups, and five Spanish Super Cups.
The Swans finished 11th in the Championship and it is hoped that the backing of the star – worth an estimated £56m and married to glamorous Vanja Bosnic, who acts as his agent – will help them push for promotion to the Premier League.
In a statement released through the club, Modric said 'This is an exciting opportunity. Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fanbase, and the ambition to compete at the highest level.
Luka Modric passed out in a cubicle and had to be carried out by a bouncer on his first Tottenham night out, says Jenas v2
'Playing at the highest level, I believe I can provide my experience to the club. My goal is to support the club's growth in a positive way and to help to build an exciting future."
Modric and Leon Britton were approached for comment.

The Netherlands international has signed a five-year deal at Anfield after the Merseysiders met his £29.5million release clause at previous club Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong became Arne Slot's first signing of the summer, to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who has joined Real Madrid. Liverpool wasted little time in announcing Frimpong's arrival, confirming his move a matter of hours after revealing they'd accepted a £10m deal with Madrid to let Alexander-Arnold move to the Bernabeu a month early. ‌ Frimpong won't be the last to move to Anfield this summer, with talks ongoing over a mega-money move for Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz. A close pal of Frimpong - the pair sat together in the changing rooms at the BayArena and drove into training together until Wirtz passed his test - the German international only wants a move to Merseyside this summer. ‌ Talks are also ongoing over a deal for Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, the Hungary left back. Dutch star Frimpong, 24, celebrated his move with his family, including his dad and brother who are both die-hard Liverpool fans. In the days after he was officially named a Liverpool player, it appeared that the news hadn't quite settled for the 24-year-old who penned an emotional message on Instagram. "Seeing the smiles on the people you love means everything," he wrote. "Grateful and honoured to be a Red. Let's get this started." The post garnered attention from some high-profile names, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch hitting 'like', alongside Jamie Gittens, the Borussia Dortmund winger who was previously rumoured to be on Liverpool's radar, and Real Madrid star Bellingham. ‌ Discussing his move, Frimpong shared in an interview with the club: "I have had a few conversations with them, Virgil has called me and told me a little bit more about Liverpool and the expectations, those types of things. And made me feel like the guys are going to welcome me well. "That's what I expect from Virgil with how he is in the national team – he's a big character, captain. They have told me good things. "Playing with world-class players as a footballer is a great feeling, it's a privilege, like 'I'm going to be next to Mo Salah '. Not just him, the whole Liverpool squad. Just Liverpool in general, this is a privilege, a blessing that I can be part of it. ‌ "But I can't wait to link up with him – hopefully we link up well. I'm excited for these things, 100 percent." Frimpong also described his own style of play enthusiastically: "I would say I'm very fast, explosive, up and down on the wing. Energetic. I can bring a lot of energy to the team."
