White-powder envelope sent to NYC ICE office said it was delivering ‘karma' for migrants
The sinister note — found in one of five envelopes containing boric acid discovered Thursday in the ninth-floor mailroom at 26 Federal Plaza — appeared to include lyrics from the Anthrax song, 'A Skeleton in the Closet' and bore a return address from an ICE building in Washington, DC, sources said.
'Deprive innocent people from their freedom and walk all over their human rights is a crime that has to be punish by men laws and divine law, nobody can escape from karma NOTE EVEN YOU,' read the letter, which was viewed by The Post.

Sources said six employees were in the room — including two within the contamination zone — when the disturbing envelopes were found, prompting authorities to swiftly evacuate the government building, also home to the US Department of Homeland Security, immigration court and other federal agencies.

Thirty-nine detainees on the floor above were relocated to New Jersey as a precaution, the source said.
The agency has come under intense heat from critics for carrying out a White House crackdown on illegal and criminal migrants.

'Upon receiving preliminary test results, 26 Federal Plaza was reopened last last night,' a FBI New York rep said in a statement.
'These preliminary test results from the crime scene, and from the New York Public Health Labs indicated there was no hazardous materials or biological toxins present.'
3 The substance was later found to be boric acid, a chemical which can irritate the skin.

The tainted envelopes were sent to the FBI's Quantico lab in Virginia for further analysis as the agency launched its own probe, officials said.
'ICE is extremely grateful to the FDNY, NYPD, FBI and FPS for their swift and decisive action to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who was inside 26 Federal Plaza during this incident,' an ICE rep said in a statement, noting the building resumed normal operations Friday.
'The perpetrator(s) of this appalling crime who sought to terrorize ICE employees will not prevent us from continuing our congressionally mandated mission to preserve public safety and national security by keeping dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities in New York City and off the streets of America.'

FBI should conduct threat assessment of Epstein files: Schumer
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) called on the FBI Tuesday to conduct a counterintelligence threat assessment of files connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in order to determine whether a foreign actor could use them against President Trump or other prominent Americans. 'Whatever may be in the Epstein files is clearly troubling enough that Donald Trump doesn't want to touch this issue with a ten-foot pole,' Schumer said on the floor. 'So it's natural to ask: what happens if America's adversaries use cyber-attacks or other means to access investigative materials into Jeffrey Epstein that are embarrassing – or worse – for President Trump and the people around him?' Schumer said 'What happens if Epstein materials end up in the hands of the Chinese government, or Russia, or North Korea?' he asked. Schumer argued that unless the Epstein files are released and made fully transparent to the public, they could become compromising material that foreign adversaries could use to 'blackmail someone like the president' or other senior leaders in government. Schumer wants the FBI to assess what risk would be posed if a foreign adversary were to gain access to information in the Epstein files. He is asking the FBI to determine if foreign intelligence agencies could gain access to the information in the files through 'cyber intrusion.' He also wants the FBI to identify any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by foreign intelligence, such as 'being able to gain leverage over Donald Trump, his family or other senior government officials.' And he's asking the nation's top law enforcement agency to 'publicly show they are developing mitigation strategies to counter these threats and safeguard our national security.' Trump said Monday at a press conference in Scotland that he ended his friendship with Epstein more than 20 years ago after 'he did something that was inappropriate.' The president said Epstein stole employees who were working for him at Mar-a-Lago. 'He hired help and I said, 'Don't ever do that again,'' Trump told reporters. 'He stole people that worked for me. I said, 'Don't ever do that again.' He did it again, and I threw him out of the place, persona non grata.' 'I threw him out and that was it. I'm glad I did, if you want to know the truth,' he said. Trump also said Monday that he turned down an invitation from Epstein to visit his private Caribbean Island. 'I never went to the island and Bill Clinton went there supposedly' several times, Trump said in Scotland. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said last week that Trump 'kicked' Epstein out of his club years ago for 'being a creep.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. FBI director: 45 arrests made overnight in DC
FBI Director Kash Patel early Thursday said 45 arrests were made in Washington, D.C., overnight after President Trump ramped up federal law enforcement presence in the nation's capital. 'The FBI and our partners made 45 arrests – 29 immigration-related, 16 tied to the violent crime surge, and 3 firearm seizures,' Patel wrote in a social media post. Patel said charges include possession of child sex abuse material, illegal firearms, drug trafficking, fugitive apprehensions and assault on a federal officer. One person was also arrested for allegedly throwing a sandwich at an officer Sunday, Patel said in a separate post. Sean Charles Dunn, 37, shouted at a group of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents before hurling a sandwich at one, according to police. 'Why are you here? I don't want you in my city!' Dunn reportedly yelled. 'He took a Subway sandwich … and threw it at the officer. He thought it was funny,' U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro said in a video response to the incident. 'Well, he doesn't think it's funny today because we charged him with a felony, assault on a police officer, and we're going to back the police to the hilt. So there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else.' D.C. residents have protested the increased federal law enforcement presence in the District. However, Trump administration officials say people who cross the line will be prosecuted. Patel shared similar sentiments in Thursday's statement. 'Your FBI will make DC Safe Again,' Patel said.
