Maharashtra to get India's longest running Vande Bharat train

Vande Bharat Express Train: Good news for Maharashtra. The state is all set to get its 12th Vande Bharat train, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10. This new semi-high-speed train will be operated and maintained by the Central Railway (CR) zone.
The Ajni(Nagpur) – Pune Vande Bharat Express will be the longest running Vande Bharat train in the country, covering a distance of 881 kms. It will also be the first Vande Bharat to cover the regions of Wardha-Akola-Shegaon –Bhusaval-Jalgaon-Manmad and regions between Puntamba and Daund. It will also be the fastest train between Nagpur and Pune with a speed of 73kmph and 10 intermediate stoppages.
The Pune-Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express will run as train number 26101/26102. It will begin its regular operations from Pine station with effect from August 11 and from Ajni station on August 12. The train will run six days a week.
The Introduction of Vande Bharat Train service between Ajni(Nagpur) and Pune will immensely benefit a large population of passengers wanting to travel between these two cities and the towns enroute for work, business, studies and tourism. It will be beneficial for businessmen, students, employees proceeding on regular travel and special tours and will further promote tourism apart from increasing the avenues of trade and commerce.

The new high-speed trains include aVande Bharat Expressfrom Bengaluru to Belagavi,Vande Bharat fromAmritsar to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra andVande Bharat fromNagpur (Ajni) to Pune. Thereafter, he will flag off Bangalore Metro's Yellow Line and undertake a metro ride from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Electronic City metro station. Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of urban connectivity projects in Bengaluru. During his visit, Modi will also address a public function and lay the foundation stone of Bangalore Metro Phase-3 project worth over ₹ 15,610 crore. TheKarnataka capitalwill witness several traffic diversions and parking bans on Sunday due to the prime minister's visit. Modi will remain in the city for around four hours, according to the Chief Minister's Office. His visit will begin at 10:30 AM after landing at HAL Airport inBengaluru. According to the Bengaluru Traffic Police, heavy crowds and VIP movements are expected due to which restrictions have been imposed on several stretches between 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The traffic police have suggested to avoid these routes -- Marenahalli Main Road (Rajalakshmi Junction to Marenahalli 18th Main Road, and from East End Main Road Junction to Aravind Junction); the Electronic City elevated expressway and Hosur Road (both directions); and multiple internal roads in Electronics City Phase 1, such as Infosys Avenue, Velankani Road, and HP Avenue Road. They have also suggested alternative routes for motorists – From Rajalakshmi Junction towards Jayadeva Hospital: Use Sarakki Market Road/9th Cross Road - IG Circle - RV Dental Junction - Jayadeva Hospital via 8th Main-9th Cross Road Junction; To reach Bannerghatta Road: Divert from Sarakki Junction via the Outer Ring Road; from 4th Main Road to Jayadeva Hospital: Turn right at Rajalakshmi Junction - left on Sarakki Main Road - IG Circle - RV Dental route - Bannerghatta Road From East End Circle to Banashankari: Take 29th Main Road → 28th Main Road - Delmia Junction - Outer Ring Road - Sarakki Junction - Kanakapura Road From Hosur Road to Kanakapura, Mysuru, or Tumakuru roads: Use Jigani Road via Bommasandra Junction to NICE Road; NICE Road users heading to Hosur: Exit at Bannerghatta Junction - Jigani Road - Bommasandra Junction From Hosur Road to Sarjapur, Varthur, Whitefield, or Hoskote: Take Dommasandra Road from Chandapura Junction From HSR Layout/Koramangala/Bellandur/Whitefield towards Hosur: Travel via Sarjapur Road - Chandapura Within Electronics City Phase 1: Use 2nd Cross Road, Shikaripalya Road, Hulimangala Road and Gollahalli Road.

But did you know that the semi high-speed train was originally conceived as Train 18, later renamed to Train 20, and ultimately became the Vande Bharat Express upon its launch on February 15, 2019. What was Train 18? The popular train we know today as Vande Bharat Express was originally conceived as Train 18 in 2017. Train 18 was so named because the Indian Railways had initially planned to launch it in 2018. The Narendra Modi government aimed to build a passenger train that was faster and more advanced than the Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express. Train 18 was India's first engineless train completely based on indigenous technology, designed and manufactured by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. How Train 18 became Vande Bharat? After completion of trial runs, Train 18 was ready for commercial launch, and was renamed as Vande Bharat Express to reflect its Indianness. The Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2019, between New Delhi and Varanasi, and embarked on its first commercial journey on February 17 that year. What is Train 20? Train 20 is upgraded version Train 18 or Vande Bharat, which will have sleeper coaches designed for longer journeys. Commonly known as the Vande Bharat sleeper train, Train 20 will have 16 coaches, which the railways plans to increase to 24 in the near future, according to officials. The Vande Bharat sleeper train will have a capacity of 823 passengers, with 67 sleeper berths, and all 16 coaches will be air-conditioned, they said. Why Vande Bharat Express train is so popular? The semi-high speed medium-distance Vande Bharat Express trains have revolutionized train travel in India since their commercial launch on February 15, 2019. Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced that the upcoming "Brahma" rail coach manufacturing unit at Obedullaganj will operate entirely under the " " and " " framework, with most technology and materials sourced domestically to cut foreign dependence. The CM said the project would benefit Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha and the Mandideep industrial area, creating direct and indirect employment for over 5,000 people, including engineering graduates from local technical institutes. "Special attention will be given to environmental standards in the construction of this plant. The initial production capacity of the project will be 125 to 200 coaches per year, which will be increased to 1,100 coaches per year in five years. The technological capabilities developed here will make the state competitive in the global market for high-speed rail and metro construction. The coaches of Vande Bharat-Amrit Bharat and Metro trains manufactured here will mark a new era for the entire Indian Rail system, the CM said.
