Chinar Super League launches Season 7 kits at grand ceremony
The event featured the presentation of jerseys for the 16 participating teams, attended by their captains.
Prominent business leaders, including Kamran Ghani, Chairman of Empire Developments and Ghani Holding Group of Companies; Asad Qureshi, Head of Smart Creation; and Osama Asif Jabar, Managing Director of Park Group, participated in the jersey distribution.
The Chinar Super League, an annual cricket tournament for the Kashmiri community in the UAE, has taken its message of peace and environmental sustainability to new heights. The trophy for the league's seventh season was displayed at the globally renowned Dal Lake in Srinagar, an iconic tourist destination in the Kashmir region.
The announcement was made by Chinar Super League Chairman Raja Asad Khalid during the grand unveiling ceremony.
Addressing the media, Raja Asad Khalid emphasized the league's role in uniting the Kashmiri diaspora while embracing the UAE's spirit of tolerance. He explained that the decision to showcase the trophy at Dal Lake was also aimed at raising awareness about climate challenges in the region.
Additionally, a video of the trophy placed at Srinagar's historic Jamia Masjid was unveiled during the event, receiving widespread acclaim.
Kamran Ghani, Chairman of Empire Developments and Ghani Holding Group of Companies, praised the UAE's leadership for promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities based on talent rather than background. 'This vision aligns with the values of the Chinar Super League, which is why Empire Developments proudly supports this initiative," he said, adding: 'We are partnering with Chinar Super League for a tree-planting drive in Dubai and across the UAE, contributing to environmental conservation efforts.'
Asad Qureshi highlighted the league's commitment to sustainability by unveiling eco-friendly team jerseys made from recyclable materials, minimizing environmental impact.
Osama Asif Jabar announced Park Group's support for the league's climate awareness campaign.
The Chinar Super League has pledged to plant 50 trees this season in Srinagar, Muzaffarabad, and Dubai. Last year, eight trees were planted in each city as part of the initiative to combat global warming.
This year's tournament also features an official anthem, showcasing the scenic beauty of Kashmir. Produced by digital creator Arif Urfi, with lyrics by Shehzad Rathore, the anthem was shot using advanced drone technology in Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capturing breathtaking visuals of the region.
The seventh season of the Chinar Super League promises to deliver an extraordinary blend of sports, cultural pride, and environmental advocacy, setting a benchmark for community-driven initiatives in the UAE.

How I got my job as… founder of this Moroccon-inspired fashion label
This week, we speak to Aisha Jabrane, Founder of JABASHI Fashion. Known for its intricate designs, the brand is known for their elegant abayas crafted to perfection. Welcome to the Emirates Woman weekly series 'How I got my job as…' where we speak to some incredible entrepreneurs and businesswomen both based in the UAE and globally to find out about their career paths that led them to where they are now; what their daily routines look like; the advice they'd give to those starting out; and the hurdles they've had to overcome. This fashion brand blends the intricate artistry of Morocco, the glamour of the Middle East, and the timeless elegance of South Asia into a modern luxury statement. To delve into her journey, Emirates Woman sat down with Jabrane to see how it all began. What was your favourite subject at school? Psychology. I've always been captivated by the way people think, feel, and express themselves. Fashion, to me, is an unspoken language and that early curiosity about human nature became the foundation for my creative journey. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JABASHI (@shopjabashi) What was your first job? At 18, I worked in a high-end eyewear boutique. It was my first true immersion into the world of luxury retail, where I learned that refinement is as much about experience and detail as it is about the product itself. What brought you to Dubai? While I am based in the United States, my designs were naturally drawn to Dubai's cosmopolitan energy and discerning clientele. Dubai is a global stage for elegance, where tradition meets innovation, which mirrors exactly what Jabashi Fashion stands for. What inspired you to enter the fashion space and launch JABASHI FASHION? My story is one of cultural fusion. I am American-born with Pakistani and Kashmiri heritage, and I married into Moroccan culture. Jabashi Fashion was born from my desire to weave these worlds together blending the intricate artistry of Morocco, the glamour of the Middle East, and the timeless elegance of South Asia into a modern luxury statement. Talk us through the concept. Jabashi Fashion is a curated blend of heritage and high fashion. Every piece is handcrafted to embody both tradition and contemporary allure, think Moroccan embroidery, flowing Middle Eastern silhouettes, and sophisticated detailing designed for the modern woman. What are the key elements of your role? As founder and creative director, I oversee everything from design and fabric sourcing to brand partnerships and visual storytelling. I am deeply committed to ensuring each collection carries our signature: cultural authenticity, impeccable craftsmanship, and a sense of timeless elegance. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JABASHI (@shopjabashi) Talk us through your daily routine. I start my mornings with gratitude and prayer to set an intentional tone for the day. The early hours are devoted to reviewing design progress, liaising with our artisans, and managing international logistics. Afternoons are for creative directio, photoshoots, campaign planning, and client consultations. Evenings are sacred for family time, reflection, and sketching new ideas. What advice do you have for anyone looking to follow in the same footsteps? Never dilute your story to fit into trends. In luxury fashion, your narrative is your most powerful asset. Protect your vision fiercely, build meaningful relationships with your artisans, and let quality, not quantity define your success. Tell us more about the products. We design luxury abayas, gowns, and Moroccan-inspired statement pieces that embody elegance, heritage, and modernity. Each garment is crafted using premium fabrics and fine detailing, made for women who appreciate both artistry and exclusivity. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? 'Protect your brand like it's your name.' Reputation and trust are irreplaceable in this industry. And what is the worst? 'Play it safe.' True creativity exists beyond comfort zones. What's the biggest challenge you have had to overcome? Managing international production while preserving uncompromising quality. Working with artisans across different time zones and cultural contexts has been both a challenge and a privilege, it requires vision, patience, and precision. What lies ahead for the brand? Our vision is to expand into the Gulf region with exclusive capsule collections, high-profile collaborations, and eventually a flagship presence in Dubai. The future of Jabashi Fashion is about becoming a global name synonymous with cultural elegance and modern luxury. We will be adding very unique jewellery pieces as well. – For more on luxury lifestyle, news, fashion and beauty follow Emirates Woman on Facebook and Instagram Images: Supplied & Feature Image: Supplied

Prices Up to Dh7,000: Eid Al Adha Udhiya Delivery Services Now Available on UAE Grocery Apps
Grocery apps Careem and Noon are bringing back their popular Udhiya delivery services, giving UAE residents a convenient way to fulfil their Eid Al Adha sacrifice from the comfort of home. From May 15 to June 4, residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi can pre-order sacrificial animals through Careem Groceries, choosing to either receive the meat at home or donate it to the UAE Food Bank. The platform is partnering once again with Dhabayeh Al Emarat, offering options such as a local goat for Dh1,723 and a Naimi sheep for Dh2,143. Noon Minutes, in collaboration with Zabehaty (Oasis Livestock), is offering a broader range, including a full cow or camel for Dh7,000, alongside Somali goats (Dh1,000), Kashmiri sheep (Dh1,300), and local Nuaimi sheep (Dh1,800). Customers can choose specific time slots for delivery and preferred meat cuts. The Udhiya, or Qurbani, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience. Meat from the sacrifice is traditionally shared with family, friends, and those in need. Chase Lario, VP of Careem Groceries, said last year's strong response motivated the team to bring the service back. 'Customers loved the ease and convenience... and we're excited to support this meaningful practice again,' he said. Users on both apps can select the day of sacrifice during the first four days of Eid. Careem also enables direct donation to the UAE Food Bank, which has provided over 70 million meals to date. Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on Saturday, June 7, with a possible five-day holiday from June 6 to June 10, subject to Moon sightings. News Source: Khaleej Times

Social media accounts of Babar, Rizwan and Afridi blocked in India
Top Pakistani cricketers, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, have had their Instagram accounts blocked in India in the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The three are currently participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, representing Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Lahore Qalandars, respectively. However, Indian users can no longer access their Instagram pages, with a message citing compliance with a legal request to restrict the content in the country. The move comes as part of a broader crackdown following the April 22 terrorist strike in Kashmir, where 25 tourists and one Kashmiri local were killed after gunmen opened fire at a meadow near the tourist town of Pahalgam. In response, the Indian government has begun restricting Pakistani social media accounts with significant Indian followings. Olympic gold medallist javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem's Instagram account was also blocked in India on Thursday. Nadeem, who defeated India's Neeraj Chopra at the Paris Olympics, had recently declined an invitation to participate in Chopra's NC Classic javelin event set for May 24 in Bengaluru. Earlier in the week, several Pakistani YouTube channels were also withheld in India for "disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content' and "misinformation against India, its Army, and security agencies.' Former cricketers Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, and Basit Ali were among those whose YouTube presence was curtailed. Interestingly, their Instagram profiles remain visible for now, unlike the accounts of Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen. Other notable Pakistani celebrities, including actors Mahira Khan and Ali Zafar, have also seen their Instagram profiles restricted in India, marking a significant digital blockade amid rising bilateral tensions. Moreover, many other Pakistani YouTube channels have been banned in India for provocative and communally sensitive content, along with false and misleading narratives targeting India, its Army, and security agencies. The other banned channels include Dawn News, Irshad Bhatti, SAMAA TV, ARY NEWS, BOL NEWS, Raftar, The Pakistan Reference, Geo News, Samaa Sports, GNN, Uzair Cricket, Umar Cheema Exclusive, Asma Shirazi, Muneeb Farooq, SUNO News HD, and Razi Naama.
