Kid Cudi Recalls Confronting a Jealous Diddy: 'You Messed with My Dog'
Kid Cudi alleges Diddy broke into his house in 2011
He was dating Diddy's on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, at the time
Diddy reportedly tried to talk to Kid Cudi several times in an attempt to "get to the bottom" of the rapper's relationship with Ventura, Cudi told the courtKid Cudi says he once tried to confront Sean "Diddy" Combs — and during the confrontation, the rapper accused Diddy of locking his dog inside a bathroom.
The Grammy-winning artist, whose legal name is Scott Mescudi, took the stand on Thursday, May 22, in Combs' high-profile federal trial in Manhattan.
Mescudi recalled a break-in at his home in December 2011, when he was in a brief relationship with Combs' on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura.
Ventura called Mescudi early in the morning on the day of the break-in, and the two got on a call with an employee of Combs', Mescudi testified.
The employee 'seemed very scared" and told them Combs and an associate were inside Mescudi's house, Mescudi testified.
When Mescudi contacted Combs, the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly said, "I just want to talk to you," later adding he was at Mescudi's home "waiting for you."
Combs was not there when Mescudi arrived at the home, but he noticed several things out of place: gift boxes opened, his security camera turned away, and his dog locked inside the bathroom, Mescudi testified.
"I was looking for [Combs]," Mescudi said. "I wanted to confront him, I wanted to fight him, you know?"
He chose not to, however, and opted to call police.
Later, when Mescudi was spending Christmas with Ventura's family, Combs allegedly called him several times to ask about his relationship with Ventura, he testified.
"He wanted to get to the bottom of it and figure it out," Mescudi said.
"But post-break-in, I didn't want to talk to him. I told him, 'You broke into my house and messed with my dog, I don't want to talk to you.'"
Earlier this week, the jury heard testimony from witnesses alleging he abused Ventura and carried a trove of drugs on him, including pills with former president Barack Obama's face on them. Law enforcement officials revealed the firearm components, baby oil and pink ketamine they found in his possession during their investigation.
Combs is on trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Harvey Weinstein sex crimes retrial ends in disarray as jury foreperson refuses to deliberate
Harvey Weinstein's sex crimes retrial case ended in disarray on Thursday as the jury foreperson refused to deliberate and the judge declared a mistrial on a remaining rape allegation. The ruling came a day after a split verdict on other charges in the landmark #MeToo-era case and now sets up the former studio boss for a third trial in New York. Before that case however goes ahead, the 73-year-old will face new sentencing early next month on his sexual assault conviction. The Oscar-winning movie producer denies all the charges and his lawyer says he plans to appeal. Related New York jury convicts Harvey Weinstein of top charge in #MeToo sex crimes retrial In Wednesday's partial verdict, Weinstein was convicted of one criminal sex act charge but acquitted of another. Both concerned accusations of forcing oral sex on women in 2006. Those verdicts still stand. While the jury of seven women and five men was unanimous on those decisions, it got stuck on the rape charge involving another woman, Jessica Mann. The hairstylist and actor testified at length — as she did in 2020 — that Weinstein raped her amid a years-long consensual relationship. 'I will never give up on myself and making sure my voice – and the truth – is heard," Mann said in a statement Thursday, confirming she's ready to testify yet again. Tensions and disagreements among the jury began to emerge in public last Friday as one member asked to be excused because he felt another was being treated unfairly. On Monday, the foreperson complained that other jurors were pushing people to change their minds and talking about information beyond the charges. The man raised concerns again Wednesday, telling the judge he felt afraid in the jury room because another juror was yelling at him for sticking to his opinion and suggested the foreperson would 'see me outside.' When Judge Curtis Farber asked the foreperson Thursday whether he was willing to return to deliberations, the man said said no. And with that, Farber declared a mistrial on the rape count. Two jurors disputed the foreperson's account as they left court. One, Chantan Holmes, said that no one mistreated the man and that she believed he was just tired of deliberating. 'We all felt bad. Because we really wanted to do this. We put our hearts and souls in here,' she said. Another jury member, who identified himself only by his juror number, said the deliberations were contentious, but respectful. 'What happened in that jury room was absolutely improper,' attorney Arthur Aidala said outside court. Weinstein is due back in court July 2 for discussion of retrial and sentencing dates. His first-degree criminal sex act conviction carries the potential for up to 25 years in jail, while the unresolved third-degree rape charge is punishable by up to four years — less than he already has served. He's been behind bars since his initial conviction in 2020, and he later also was sentenced to prison in a separate California case, which he's appealing. Weinstein's 2020 conviction seemed to cement the downfall of one of Hollywood's most powerful men in a pivotal moment for the #MeToo movement. The anti-sexual-misconduct campaign was fueled by allegations against him. But that conviction was overturned last year, and the case was sent back for retrial in the same Manhattan courthouse. Weinstein's accusers said he exploited his Tinseltown influence to dangle career help, get them alone and then trap and force them into sexual encounters. 'These hopeful young women were trying to follow their dreams in a world that he controlled,' Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat, said at a news conference Thursday. Weinstein's defence portrayed his accusers as Hollywood wannabes and hangers-on who willingly hooked up with him in the hope of getting opportunities, then later said they were victimized to collect settlement funds and #MeToo approbation. Miriam Haley, the producer and production assistant whom Weinstein was convicted — twice, now — of sexually assaulting, said outside court Wednesday that the new verdict 'gives me hope.' Accuser Kaja Sokola also called it 'a big win for everyone,' even though Weinstein was acquitted of forcibly performing oral sex on her when she was a 19-year-old fashion model. Her allegation was added to the case after the retrial was ordered.

Sabrina Carpenter's New Album Cover Controversy Explained Amid Fan Reaction
Sabrina Carpenter's new album, Man's Best Friend, has ignited controversy over its cover art, with some fans arguing it perpetuates the 'oversexualization' of women. The pop star's latest visual choices have divided fans and sparked broader conversations about female representation in music. Sabrina Carpenter has teased the release date of her new album, Man's Best Friend, with a revelation of its cover art. The Grammy-winning star's new album cover immediately sparked a social media discourse as fans theorized the meaning behind it. In the Man's Best Friend cover, Carpenter is seen kneeling on the ground in a black body-con dress and high heels. A suited individual is pulling her blonde hair as she poses towards the camera with her mouth slightly open. In another photo, a furry animal is wearing a collar with 'Man's Best Friend' written on it. The cover art garnered over 3 million likes within half a day of its release. However, the comments indicated the divided opinion of fans. One user noted in the comment section, 'These images are clearly designed for the male gaze and are not empowering.' A second netizen posted on X (formerly Twitter), 'I'm so tired of this oversexualization of women. This is not feminism, and this is not empowering.' However, some other social media users argued that the cover could be a commentary on the male gaze. An X user explained, 'For those of you who may lack critical thinking skills, the cover is clearly satirical with a deeper meaning, portraying how the public views her, believing she is just for the male gaze.' Carpenter explained in a fan letter that her new album, the successor to the 2024 release Short n' Sweet, is not a planned release. She gushed, 'I didn't plan on releasing a new record however when inspiration strikes, I go to the studio, and when it doesn't, I still go to the studio. But luckily life was really happening to me, and inspiration struck!' The 'Espresso' crooner added that making the new album was quite different. She noted, 'Every inch came together so effortlessly' (via US Weekly).
