Starseeker, Silksong and Other New Switch 2 Games Revealed During Stream Freeze

Yahoo03-04-2025

For those who woke up early to watch the Nintendo Direct unveiling the new Switch 2, the majority of the hour-long livestream went off without a hitch, unveiling features and new games. But for a brief minute, both the YouTube and Twitch livestreams were frozen solid, with only audio coming through. That just so happened to be when several brand-new games were revealed to the world for the first time.
Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions, System Era's follow-up to its cozy space base builder Astroneer, was one of the games that "debuted" without visuals. The upcoming game looks to take its predecessor's cute astronaut adventures to the next level, setting players up with a space station-size crew to take on planet- and system-size tasks. The game comes out in 2026.
Enter the Gungeon 2, a 3D successor to the popular 2D roguelike Enter the Gungeon, also had its first look demoted to audio-only. The new game preserves the "bullet hell" of its predecessor, taking on big bosses with bigger guns from a tilt-shifted perspective.
While some reveals had narration that clued viewers into what was happening, other reveals went overlooked until later. That's how I (and many others, it seems) missed that Silksong, the long-awaited spin-off of the fan-favorite Hollow Knight, was revealed in a pair of clips that lasted around 5 seconds…but only for those who rewatched the recorded Nintendo Direct. Silksong: Hollow Knight, as it's properly called, is coming later this year.
Nintendo Direct live watchers were halfway through the reveal of Survival Kids when the stream froze. This cartoony survival game is based on a cult classic Konami title from decades ago, according to GamesRadar. Survival Kids is a launch title for the Switch 2, arriving with it on its June 5 release date.
The freeze also took out visuals for reveals of several existing games that the Switch 2 would be getting. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to Nintendo's upcoming console, as well as Capcom's underrated Japanese myth-themed fantasy strategy game Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.

WWE loads up SmackDown with Cena, Cody, Logan, Ripley, Americano, and so much more

It's WWE's turn to broadcast way too much damn wrestling content at once, with both Worlds Collide and Money in the Bank scheduled for this Saturday (June 7) in the Los Angeles area. That means this Friday's (June 6) episode of SmackDown in Bakersfield, California, is the go home show for both events. With that in mind, General Manager Nick Aldis posted the following video on social media today announcing that all the relevant top stars will be in the house. Advertisement The one match Aldis announced is a six-woman tag team match pitting Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, and Alexa Bliss against Roxanne Perez, Naomi, and Giulia. These are the six women who have qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match, of course. He says the six men's Money in the Bank participants (Seth Rollins, Penta, El Grande Americano, Andrade, LA Knight, and Solo Sikoa) will also be in the building, and teased a significant confrontation between them. Finally, Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso are scheduled for Friday night's show, where they will confront WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul. These three wrestlers and one YouTube douchebag will square off in a tag team match at Money in the Bank. Is that enough star power to get you to tune into this Friday's three hour episode of SmackDown on USA Network? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders. Advertisement More from

After a Flurry of Successful Lead Singles and the EP 'Ride or Die,' James Robert Webb Is Set to Drop His Highly Anticipated Outlaw Country-Inspired Fourth Album 'Weekend Outlaw' June 6

TULSA, Okla., June 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Over four decades since Loverboy iconically reminded us that everybody's "Working for the Weekend" and Waylon, Willie and company set the Nashville establishment on fire with their Outlaw Country movement, modern day storyweaver James Robert Webb offers a fresh twist on those empowering aesthetics with the drop of his highly anticipated fourth full-length album Weekend Outlaw Artfully weaving raw emotion, cinematic storytelling and clever turns of lyrical phrase into songs that feel all at once untamed, liberating and eternal, the veteran Tulsa OK singer/songwriter's 11 track set is the culmination of several years releasing a large batch of lead singles and the 2024 EP Ride or Die, Webb launched his current run of success with two songs that hit the upper reaches of the Texas Regional Radio Report chart – "Gentlemen Start Your Weekends" (#2) and "Lovesick Drifting Cowboy" (#1). Both appear on the EP and the new collection. With genre-busting outlaw soul, the tracks on the album aim to empower with a sound that is equal parts haunting mystery, explosive muscle and vibrant tradition, all captured by a spirit of fast-driving rebellion. Weekend Outlaw is inspired by and dedicated to folks like Webb who grew up in working class families and are successful professionals in other fields (in his case, a top musculoskeletal radiologist). Yet, especially since the pandemic, they realize that time is of the essence to pursue their creative dreams - and there's way more to life than the daily 9 to 5 grind. "We're all aware of the fleetingness of life, and know we've got to do it now," Webb says. "The whole 'Weekend Outlaw' mentality is about being true to our passions. My goal with the album is to encourage listeners to take ownership of their free time and follow the pursuits that come after clocking out on Friday night." Webb, who released his debut full-length Pictures in 2016, rose to prominence a few years later when two tracks from his 2020 self-titled album – "Something Out of Nothing" and "Stealing Home" – hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report chart. In 2022, he was named the Country Breakout Awards' Independent Artist of the Year (an honor bestowed by Nashville's Music Row Magazine) and a year later he was a 2023 New Faces nominee at the Texas Regional Radio Report Music Awards. Expected later in 2025, Webb makes his debut as an actor playing himself in a new family-friendly holiday film currently titled "Music City Mistletoe." In addition to singing his original song "Fighting for a Dream" on camera, the film will include his recording "Merry Magical Christmas," a song he co-wrote with the film's writer and executive producer Shantell Ogden. Banijay Chief Marco Bassetti On Potential ITV Takeover: 'Scale Is Really Important'

Marco Bassetti, CEO of MasterChef and Peaky Blinders production empire Banijay Entertainment, has addressed speculation about the company's interest in acquiring ITV. The Financial Times reported in April that Banijay has held talks with ITV about a takeover. Deadline reported last month that the talks were still tentative and that the shape of any deal was unclear. Bassetti went on to talk about the benefits of scale in the current climate. If Banijay was to make an audacious bid for ITV, it would cement its status as one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world. 'To put this in context, we are a niche business with many companies, so we always talk to each other about how to create more value. And sometimes rumors get out,' he said, adding that we are currently 'living in a world where consolidation is really important.' 'It wasn't like this a few years ago,' he said. 'Then, we were a little bit scared about scale. We didn't want to be seen as too big or powerful. But today, if you don't have a big distribution branch or have the money to invest in pilots, it is difficult to stay in the market.' Flanked by its banking advisors at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Robey Warshaw, ITV has reportedly been entertaining potential suitors since at least last November. RedBird IMI, run by former CNN chief Jeff Zucker, emerged as the frontrunner to a deal after the Abu Dhabi-backed investment fund acquired All3Media last year. Last month, citing sources with knowledge of the talks, we reported that RedBird IMI's interest has cooled significantly in recent weeks, though the situation remains fluid and could change again quickly. Sources told Deadline that RedBird IMI believes ITV Studios' valuation is too high. Bassetti's talk was moderated by Jordan Schwarzenberger, co-founder of Arcade Media, the management company of YouTube creators The Sidemen. On the topic of online creators and their convergence with traditional producers like Banijay, Bassetti spoke at length, telling the audience that to move forward, both producers and creators must increasingly work together. 'We must converge if we want to exploit the content created,' Bassetti said. 'We need to use as much as possible all the platforms the market has today. So like your next picture for you is Netflix. We are working to produce shows on YouTube.'
