As the trial of disgraced American rapper Sean "Diddy" combs is going on in New York, the attention has turned to the music mogul's ties and relationships with celebrities, particularly Canadian superstar
Justin Bieber
. The trial of American hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs, who is accused of running a sprawling sex trafficking operation, is underway. He was arrested in September last year and faces charges including racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied any accusations of wrongdoing and rejected a government plea deal offer.
Why has the spotlight shifted to Justin Bieber?
Justin Bieber, 31, often appeared alongside Diddy when he was a teen pop idol. On Thursday, the Canadian singer has broken his silence amid speculation on social media that he was a victim of Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
A representative for Bieber told TMZ on Thursday: 'Although Justin is not among Sean Combs' victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him.'

When Diddy befriended a teenage Bieber
Sean Diddy Combs and Justin Bieber appear to have met early in latter's career, shortly after he signed with Usher and Scooter Braun's label RBMG Records in 2008. At that time, Bieber was just 14 years old.
In November 2009, Bieber uploaded a video to his official YouTube channel titled 'JUSTIN BIEBER's 48 HRS with DIDDY!!'
'You ever seen the movie 48 Hours?" Diddy asks the camera after presenting his protege with a silver Lamborghini, referring to the 1980s buddy movie starring Eddie Murphy.
'Right now [Justin is] having 48 hours with Diddy, him and his boy. They're having the times of their lives. Like, where we hanging out and what we're doing, we can't really disclose. But it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream.'
The producer continues: 'I have been given custody of him. You know, he's signed to Usher, and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album… We're gonna go full. Buck full crazy.'
He then asks Bieber what he wants to do with the day and the teen responds: 'Let's just go get some girls.' Diddy approves of the suggestion and calls Bieber 'a man after my own heart.'

In another video dating from a year later that recently resurfaced on social media, Bieber is seen working in a recording studio when Diddy arrives unexpectedly.
'What's up man, you good? Selling out arenas and everything?' Diddy asks, before pivoting to a more challenging, resentful tone: 'Starting to act different, huh? You haven't been calling me and hanging out the way we used to hang out.'
'Well I mean, you haven't... you tried to get in contact with me through all my, you know, my partners and whatnot, but you never really got my number,' Bieber stutters in response.
'So, you want my number? I'm gonna tell you my number.'
Did Sean Diddy make veiled warnings?
In 2011, Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Justin Bieber appeared together on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where they were asked about how they first met. Diddy gave a cryptic response, saying their friendship began 'in a strange way,' before adding, 'We want to protect [Justin] because he's genuinely such a nice person besides his talents.'

When asked about a video showing Bieber with a luxury sports car, Diddy clarified, 'He had the Lamborghini for a day or two and access to the house. And he knows better than to be talking about the things he does with Big Brother Puff on national television. Everything ain't for everybody.'
After that, their public appearances together became rare. However, in 2014, Bieber was seen shirtless at Diddy's Ciroc vodka party at the Vanquish Lounge in Atlanta.
Diddy's arrest and the impact on Bieber
In 2021, the two were seen again in a video where Diddy greeted Bieber and appeared to pat him down—a moment that sparked online speculation that he might have been checking if Bieber was wearing a wire.
Two years later, Bieber was featured on 'Moments,' a track from Diddy's 2023 album The Love Album: Off the Grid. But when Diddy was arrested in 2024, The Daily Mail reported that Bieber was deeply disturbed by the allegations and withdrew from discussing them.
'Bieber is so disturbed by the Diddy news and is unwilling to process it or discuss it, so he has shut off,' a source told the outlet. 'Many people close to him were also close to Diddy, and this has shaken him. He had distanced himself from Diddy during the period when much of this is alleged to have occurred. Had he known, he never would have participated in the album.'
Another source told People magazine that Bieber preferred not to focus on the situation, choosing instead to stay in a 'happy bubble' with his wife and newborn son.

Diddy Faces Serious Charges
Diddy is currently facing a five-count federal indictment, including charges of sex trafficking, prostitution-related offenses, and racketeering conspiracy.
This week, proceedings at the Daniel Moynihan Courthouse in Manhattan included disturbing testimony from his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. She described prolonged abuse and graphic accounts of 'freak-off' sex parties allegedly organized by Diddy, during which she said she was coerced into sexual acts with male sex workers while Diddy filmed the encounters.
Ventura testified that these parties could last up to four days, with one instance involving a baby pool filled with baby oil. 'It was such a mess,' she recalled. 'I was like, 'What are we doing?''

He shared warm memories that gave fans a glimpse into the superstar's true nature, off-screen. 'His house was always open' One of the most surprising things Sooraj revealed was about the ' Bajrangi Bhaijaan ' actor's home. It wasn't just a place for family and close friends, it was open to everyone. 'His house was always open earlier. There was a lock on the door, but it was never used. If you want to eat his food or open his fridge and take something, no one would stop you. Even if you want to have his protein shake or vitamins, nobody ever says no,' he said. According to Sooraj, Salman's home was a place where guests were never treated like strangers. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esta nueva alarma con cámara es casi regalada en San Francisco Solano (ver precio) Verisure Undo 'There were many times when he'd wake up in the morning, see someone there, and simply say, 'Oh, you're here, you had food,' and then quietly go about his own routine without disturbing anyone. His house is actually quite small,' Sooraj added. Food for everyone—On and off set The 'Ek Tha Tiger' actor's generosity wasn't limited to just his home. Sooraj shared that this spirit of sharing carried on to the film sets as well. 'Many people have said this and it's true that when his lunch or dinner is arranged, it's not just for him but for the entire unit. 'Grandfather category': Usha Vance recalls how her kids bonded with PM Modi during India visit
Vance family's visit to India in April (ANI photo) US Vice President JD Vance's wife, Usha Vance, on Monday heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hospitality after the Vance family visited India in April. Usha said meeting PM Modi was very special, and her kids put him in the "grandfather category" after meeting him. "Meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that was really very special. My kids saw him — they were sort of sleep-deprived in Paris, and they saw an Indian man with a white beard and white hair, and they just put him in the grandfather category immediately," Usha said. "They are very into him; they just love him, and he really cemented his status by giving our five-year-old a birthday present that day. When we were able to visit his home, they just sort of ran up. They were hugging him. He was just incredibly kind and generous to them," said US Second Lady Usha Vance on meeting PM Modi during their visit to India. Usha claimed that JD Vance had a very productive conversation with PM Modi, and the visit was a real opportunity for them to "cement the personal relationship." "I think it was a very productive conversation for JD Vance and the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi), of course. But also, I think it was a real opportunity for us to kind of cement that personal relationship that they have, which I think is only to the good," she said. "There was a puppet show that was a particular highlight, with sort of puppeteering from all over the country, including from Andhra Pradesh, where my family is from. There were bits from the Ramayana, there were sort of comedic bits with animals, and it was a huge hit. My kids have been trying to recreate it at home with construction paper," said US Second Lady Usha Vance on meeting PM Modi and their visit to India. JD Vance, along with his family, was on a four-day visit to India, which was also his first official visit to the country since assuming office. JD Vance is married to Usha Chilukuri Vance, a Yale Law graduate and accomplished attorney whose family hails from Andhra Pradesh. Fluent in Telugu and deeply connected to her cultural heritage, Usha is one of the most prominent Indian-American women in conservative legal circles. She's also been a transformative influence in JD's life—not just personally, but spiritually.
