‘Final Destination…': Box truck explosion in Illinois caught on camera, leaves homes damaged and Internet shaken
A quiet street in Addison, Illinois, in the United States turned into a scene of chaos on Sunday when a box truck suddenly exploded while driving by, sending debris flying and startling the neighbourhood. The blast was so powerful that pieces of the truck, along with scattered clothing and broken furniture, were left strewn across the area. Fortunately, the driver survived the accident.
CBS News reported that the truck had been rented by a man who was using it to move his personal belongings. Authorities, including local police, the bomb squad, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), later traced the cause of the explosion to a propane tank leak inside the vehicle.
The dramatic moment was captured on a nearby home security camera and has since gone viral on social media, racking up millions of views.
The impact of the blast was significant — four homes were damaged, and one was deemed temporarily unsafe to live in. One of the truck's walls was hurled straight into a house, smashing into a load-bearing wall and pushing it inward by several feet. Addison Fire Protection District Chief Brock Herion said the homeowners 'kind of described it as an earthquake, and then a tree falling on their house'.

Chicago museum director stripped mid-air after booze and pills, but still has his million-dollar role
The Art Institute of Chicago's director, James Rondeau, is set to return to his position Monday after being temporarily sidelined due to a bizarre and embarrassing incident on an international flight that saw him reportedly strip naked mid-air. Rondeau, who earns more than $1 million annually as the museum's highest-paid employee, was detained by German authorities on April 18 upon landing in Munich. According to reports, he became intoxicated after consuming alcohol and prescription medication, eventually disrobing in-flight aboard a United Airlines flight from Chicago. The 55-year-old museum chief was taken into custody by German police after the plane touched down, sparking an internal crisis at one of the nation's most respected art institutions. Rondeau later took a voluntary leave of absence while the museum launched an independent investigation into the incident. 'I deeply regret this incident' In a statement released through CBS News, Rondeau expressed remorse for the ordeal, "I deeply regret this incident and the impact it has had on the museum and me and on my colleagues. I have dedicated the past 27 years of my professional career to the Art Institute and I am grateful to have the opportunity to continue furthering its mission." Despite the public embarrassment, the Art Institute has decided to reinstate Rondeau, citing confidence in his leadership. Museum backs director's return "Board leadership of the Art Institute of Chicago has conducted an independent investigation of this incident and is confident in James Rondeau's leadership and ability to continue as the president and director of the museum," a museum spokesperson told CBS News. Rondeau has been with the Art Institute since 1998, when he began as an associate curator. He was appointed president and director in 2016, overseeing the museum's vast collection of more than 300,000 artworks.

Box Office: Final Destination Bloodlines becomes 10th post-COVID horror film to cross USD 100M in US
Final Destination: Bloodlines has achieved a milestone it had long awaited. The sixth installment in the long-running supernatural horror franchise surpassed the USD 100 million mark at the domestic box office on Thursday, becoming only the 10th post-COVID horror film to do so. The movie amassed USD 100.9 million in the US by the end of its second full week in theaters, with a strong USD 1.9 million second Thursday, the biggest second Thursday ever for the Final Destination franchise. That figure marked a respectable 38.8 percent drop from its previous Thursday and far surpassed The Final Destination (2009), which made USD 663K with a steeper 58.8 percent drop. With positive word of mouth and solid weekday holds, Bloodlines continues to outperform expectations and is now eyeing a final domestic run in the USD 125–135 million range. The film is also set to overtake Alien: Romulus (USD 105.3M) to become the ninth-highest-grossing post-COVID horror release in the US and will soon enter the all-time Top 30 horror films domestically. Worldwide, Final Destination: Bloodlines has grossed USD 192.8 million, making it not only the highest-grossing entry in the series but also the best reviewed, receiving generally positive feedback from both fans and critics. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Bloodlines is based on a story by Jon Watts and features a screenplay by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor. Kaitlyn Santa Juana leads the cast as a college student haunted by visions of an avoided tragedy inherited from her grandmother. As death starts creeping eerily close to her family, she must unravel the mystery behind the premonition to change fate. The cast also includes Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Brec Bassinger, and franchise veteran Tony Todd. Initially slated for a streaming release on HBO Max, Warner Bros. Pictures pivoted to a theatrical rollout following delays caused by the SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming wrapped in Vancouver in May 2024, and the movie greeted audiences in theaters on May 16. Thanks to a compelling narrative, nostalgia appeal, and strong fan reception, Final Destination: Bloodlines has breathed new life into the franchise, letting horror enthusiasts hope for more sequels in the future.

‘Sir, This Isn't Safe': MP Cop Drops Truth Bomb On Sunroof Safety In Viral Video
Last Updated: A traffic cop is praised for calmly warning a guardian about kids popping out of a sunroof. In the 50-second video, the man initially laughs and dismisses the concern. A traffic cop is being widely praised on social media for his calm efforts of explaining the dangers of kids popping out of a car's sunroof to a guardian. The 50-second video shows that there were two kids in the car, popping out of the sunroof as their guardian drove. They were then stopped by the traffic official. The officer is seen warning the man, who initially laughs and dismisses the concern. The official then says: 'I will explain to you." He then firmly explains that children leaning out of the sunroof up to their waist are fully exposed from the waist up. In case of sudden braking or an accident, the children could be violently thrown from the vehicle, leading to a potential disaster. The officer's composed warning has earned public admiration. ट्रैफिक अधिकारी ने कितनी अच्छी तरह से सम्मानपूर्वक समझायासनरूफ वाली गाड़ी में ये गलती कभी न करें 🙏 — Jitendra Verma (@jeetusp) May 28, 2025 The video shows that the vehicle was registered in Madhya Pradesh. The undated video is circulating widely on social media, though the exact location of the incident could not be confirmed. As the video gained the attention of social media users, one of them remarked: 'Looks like you've just watched Final Destination, sir." The remark referred to the recent release of Final Destination Bloodlines, a film franchise that revolves around unexpected freak accidents. 'Initially, the driver had a casual, dismissive attitude, but as the officer patiently explained the potential dangers to his children, the smile faded from his face, replaced by visible concern. Sometimes, unless fear strikes, people don't truly grasp the risks," another user said. While many praised the officer's calm approach, some users pointed out that not everyone encounters such patient officials. The original video was likely shared by Jitendra Verma on X. He is the national spokesperson of UP's Samajwadi Party. With about 4.8 lakh views, the video has been widely shared and liked. First Published:
