Former £3.5m Celtic star makes history as he completes shock transfer to FOURTH continent of his career

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) NOT many footballers can say they've racked up as many air miles as this former Celtic striker. From swapping Europe for North America to enjoying a stint in Australia via Europe again, he's certainly been around the block throughout his career. Former Celtic forward Patryk Klimala, 26, is on the move once again as he's joined the TENTH club of his career despite his young age. The Polish striker was signed by Neil Lennon for £3.5million in January 2020 but he didn't even last 18 months in Scotland after a rather forgettable spell. He scored just three goals in 28 appearances for Celtic before being shipped out to the States when New York Red Bulls fancied him in 2021. After two seasons there he was back in Europe - in Israel this time - when Hapoel Be'er Sheva snapped him up. That was in January 2023 and since then he has been back in his homeland with Slask Wroclaw and most recently in the A-League with Sydney FC - scoring 17 goals in 31 appearances for the latter. He enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career in Australia and will be hoping to continue that red hot form at his new club - where he will link up with another former Celtic player. Klimala's latest team is FC Seoul in South Korea after the club confirmed the news to fans last night. It's a deal that makes history as Klimala becomes the first Polish footballer to ever play for the club. But he's far from the biggest name at the six-time K League 1 champions. South Korea legend Kim Jin-su is at the club along with former Celtic midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, who has been capped 110 times for his national team. But neither is captain as it's former Manchester United and West Ham star Jesse Lingard who holds that responsibility. Seoul haven't won the league title since 2016 despite their household names, however they will hope the arrival of in-form Klimala will change things next season.
