Sounds like something out of a Bollywood movie, right? But this is exactly what Lee So-eun has done, and honestly, it's giving us major life goals.
The Korean artist, who's now 42, is set to release her new album "Lee So-eun's Perspective - Notes on a Poem" on July 23rd, marking her return to music after a 20-year hiatus. For those doing the math, her last album "Think of Me" was released way back in 2005. That's like... before Instagram was even a thing!
When Dreams Take a Detour (And That's Totally Okay)
What makes Lee So-eun's story so relatable is how she didn't follow the typical "stick to one thing" narrative that we're often pressured into.
After gaining popularity with songs like "Resembles You," "Kitchen," "Farewell," and "For a Long Time," she made the bold decision to pursue higher education.
She graduated from Korea University's English Literature department in 2007, then packed her bags for the United States. Talk about a plot twist! She got accepted into not one, but four American law schools including Northwestern University, Cornell, Georgetown, and Notre Dame.
She chose Northwestern University's Law School in Chicago, focusing on human rights law and copyright law - areas that probably resonated with her artistic background.
This reminds us of how many young people today are exploring multiple career paths. Just like how some of our favorite influencers are also entrepreneurs, or how actors become directors, Lee So-eun proved that you don't have to be stuck in one box forever.

The Musical Comeback That's Making Hearts Flutter
Fast forward to 2025, and Lee So-eun is ready to show the world that artistic souls never really fade away. Her new album is a collaboration with children's song composer Rema (real name Kim Eun-sun), featuring 12 poems from the poetry collection "To My Little Giant" transformed into songs.
What's really cool is that she personally translated four bonus tracks into English, giving listeners a chance to experience how language changes the emotional delivery of the same content.
The album was co-produced with help from various artists including Choi Jin-kyung from crossover band "Second Moon," producer Yang Si-on, blues & jazz pianist Nam Me-ari, and producer Lee Ki-hyun.
The project became especially meaningful to her after becoming a mother. She felt a thirst for content that could positively influence flexible and pure hearts, wanting to create something that could awaken children's emotions, comfort teenagers' feelings, and serve as a medium of empathy for adults navigating changing relationships.

'Together' movie review: A horror-thriller that will leave you fascinated and frightened
Stanks creates a palpable atmosphere of both creep and claustrophobia that one could gasp for breath just as desperately as the protagonists. And the visual effects only add a cherry on the cak read more Cast: Dave Franco, Alison Brie, Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Karl Richmond Director: Michael Shanks Language: English Writer and director Michael Stanks' film Together signifies a lot of things. And so does the title. The lead pair is real-life married couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie acting together. And unlike most of the horror thrillers and psychological dramas, this time the central characters land in trouble together. The film takes its own time to come into its own and unleash its madness and mayhem. The start is rather restless and shaky, and we take time to get used to these people's motivations and conflicts. It's only after an awkward proposal scene at a party that things in Together come together. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Cliches can be fun to watch if done correctly and this horror-thriller is a good example. A holiday to an unknown destination that involves the luscious jungles and a looming cave. It involves a fruitful night but a rather frightening morning when their legs are stuck together. The word may be used a lot more times by the time the review ends. This is the first glimpse of what the film promises. In any horror or thriller, the maiden jump scare or twist decides if the others in line will land or not. Fortunately, most of them do here. And just like the other monikers in this genre, this film also involves a dive into the past that answers inevitable questions about possessions. The performances neatly camouflage into the creepy camerawork and cinematography (by Germain McMicking) as opposed to being at odds with them. This is the second sign that the film is heading in the right direction. It also breaks away from the mould of letting women take charge of being possessed. It's Dave, who beautifully essays his demons as Tim, and experiences a relentless assault on his body, that's the target of evil. And later, Alison Brie as Millie, joins him (rather literally) too. Stanks creates a palpable atmosphere of both creep and claustrophobia that one could gasp for breath just as desperately as the protagonists. And the visual effects only add a cherry on the cake. A ghastly and gratifying sexual encounter in a washroom stands out just because of how it culminates. The final twist works more than it doesn't purely because of the areas it veers into. This is a love story you wish weren't true. It's not operatic or obnoxious, but bold and badass. A rare instance when you wish these two maniacs were not together after a point. They survive, not as smoothly as you'd expect. You leave smiling as much as shocked. And that's always a nice concoction that doesn't happen too often. Rating: 3 (out of 5 stars) Together released in Indian theatres on August 8, 2025

Shilpa Shetty teases Shamita for being single In tonight's episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapil Sharma asked Shilpa Shetty whether Shamita Shetty shares everything with her. Shamita then admitted, "Mere pet mai rehta nahi hai. Voh natural ho jaata hai ki mai usko saara kuch bol du whether it is work or personal life mai. I think habit sa ho gaya hai ki isko bolna hi hai. Shamita instantly agrees, saying, "Of course!" This left all in splits, including Shilpa.

"Virat Kohli Also Called": When Village Shop Became Cricket World's Hotline
Gariaband (Chhattisgarh): Imagine you're sitting at a grocery shop in your village when your phone rings. On the other end, a voice says, "Hello, I'm Virat Kohli." Moments later, another call, "This is AB de Villiers." Then another, "I'm Rajat Patidar." It might sound like the opening scene of a Bollywood comedy, but for residents of Madagaon in Devbhog, a village in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband district, this was a real-life cricketing twist. Two unsuspecting friends, Manish BC and Khemraj, suddenly found themselves on the VIP contact list of India's cricketing elite. It all began on June 28, when Manish bought a new Reliance Jio SIM from a local mobile shop. The process seemed routine, until WhatsApp loaded and displayed Rajat Patidar's photo as the profile picture. At first, the friends assumed it was a joke. But then the calls started coming, not from neighbours or relatives, but from cricket stars and their associates. Someone claimed to be Virat Kohli, another said they were AB de Villiers. Taking it all in good humour, Manish and Khemraj began introducing themselves as "Mahendra Singh Dhoni" whenever a call came through. On July 15, Manish received yet another call from an unknown number. This time, a polite voice said, "Bhai, I'm Rajat Patidar. That number is mine, please return it." Still in a teasing mood, the friends replied, "And we're MS Dhoni." Patidar patiently explained that the number was important, connecting him with his coaches, friends, and the cricketing fraternity. When the jokes didn't stop, he calmly warned, "Okay, I'll send the police." Within 10 minutes, the police were at their door. That's when the penny dropped - they had been speaking to the real Rajat Patidar all along. The SIM was returned without hesitation. For Khemraj, a die-hard Virat Kohli fan, the accidental calls were the highlight of his life. "I got to speak to Kohli because of a wrong number. My life's goal is complete," he said, grinning. The villagers joke about Madagaon being "on the cricket map," and Manish and Khemraj hope Patidar calls again not for his SIM this time, but to say thank you. Telecom companies recycle numbers that remain inactive for over 90 days. Patidar's old number had been deactivated and reassigned to Manish, unknowingly turning a small grocery shop into a cricketing hotline.
