What did Mickey Rourke say on Celebrity Big Brother? Why actor was removed from show

Independent14-04-2025

Mickey Rourke has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after being 'threatening and aggressive' towards Chris Hughes and using 'inappropriate sexual language' with Ella Rae Wise.
The Wrestler actor, 72, has been at the centre of controversy from his very entrance on the show when he 'ogled' presenter AJ Odudu and faced calls to be removed throughout his six-day run after making homophobic comments to Jojo Siwa.
He appeared to have earned the support and reassurance of his fellow housemates, narrowly escaping eviction on Friday's episode (11 April), when Tory politician Michael Fabricant left. Rourke opened up about the childhood abuse he faced, with contestants including Siwa sharing their sympathy for the star.
However, on Sunday night's episode (14 April), housemates took part in a pirate-themed challenge when things rapidly took a turn for the worse.
First, the actor made an offensive, lewd and sexually graphic comment to 24-year-old Towie star, Wise. EastEnders actor Patsy Palmer said: 'See that's what happens, I just start to be his mate and then something slips out.'
Later, as contestants are lined up as pirates former Love Island star Hughes plays up to his role by jokingly staring at Rourke.
'Step back in line, soldier,' Siwa commands. Rourke then steps out of line to confront Hughes.
'You looking at me?' he says as he looms over Hughes. 'Don't eyeball me.'
Beard, Siwa, and Hughes attempt to defuse the situation by saying it was a joke. However, Rourke is inconsolable.
'Don't f***ing eyeball me. You c***.'
Hughes says: 'F***ing stand there.' However, Rourke calls him a 'c***' again.
The exchange leads to Big Brother calling Rourke to the diary room immediately, having to repeat the command as the actor initially ignores it.
In the diary room, Rourke is told: 'Earlier today in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour was threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella.
Rourke responds: 'Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I'm sorry. I can't take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. 'Cause I lost my temper, and I've been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I'm very sorry.
'I'm ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I'm sorry about that.'
He is then told: 'This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.
'Big Brother considers your language and behaviour today to be seriously unacceptable and as a result, Big Brother has no option but to ask you to leave the Big Brother house.'
Rourke expresses regret and takes full responsibility for his behaviour and 'short fuse' saying: 'I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I've got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I'm sorry for that. I'm actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot.
'I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I'm a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn't chosen.'

Olivia Attwood exposes the dangers of weight loss procedures in new show

In her latest documentary series for ITV2, presenter and model Olivia Attwood explores weight loss jabs, scary surgeries and the lengths people will go to for their looks Presenter and model Olivia Attwood, a Love Island alumni, knows a thing or two about the pressures to look perfect. Over the years, she had indulged in the 'odd tweakment or two', admitting she's a bit addicted to lip filler. 'I will try anything,' she says. She thinks Kim Kardashian is the ideal of perfection and totally understands this need to keep chasing a desire for the perfect selfie. This all makes her the ideal person to make these documentaries, as she explores the booming business of cosmetic procedures - and the huge dangers - without judgement and with a vested interest. A warning, if you're squeamish you might want to have a cushion ready as this series is a no holds barred look at nips, cuts, tucks and nauseating surgeries. ‌ ‌ In this latest series, Olivia Attwood: The Price Of Perfection (starts June 12, ITV2, 10.05pm), Olivia investigates six different aspects of the cosmetic world - weight loss, smile, skin, the 'Mummy Makeover', men and 'Spending £100k and counting'. Not only does she speak to patients and practitioners, but she even hops onto the table to try some out for herself - from the latest in energy treatments to the benefits of salmon sperm injections. Starting with weight loss, Olivia says: 'Big boobs, big bums and body positivity may have changed the way we feel about our figures at times, but as far as I can remember, being thin has and probably always will be, in fashion.' Olivia interviews Kate Moss's fashion model sister Lottie, who was hospitalised after misusing Ozempic. Lottie says: 'I always felt compared to Kate. I felt a lot of pressure to be like her and to look like her. I got the Ozempic from a doctor who was giving it out on the sly with no questions asked. Within two weeks, I'd lost 6 or 7kg. I had a seizure. I was terrified. I honestly felt like I was dying. It wasn't worth it.' Olivia also talks to people using fat-busting injections (even when they don't know what's in them) and follows a woman to Turkey as she has 360 liposuction and a Brazilian Butt Lift. Frank, funny and relatable, Olivia is not afraid to ask the big questions in this eye-opening (and sometimes eye-popping) series. Olivia Attwood: The Price of Perfection is airing on ITV2 tonight at 10.05pm. There's plenty more on TV tonight - here's the best of the rest.. DNA JOURNEY, ITV1, 9pm Cold Feet stars Fay Ripley and Hermione Norris are the first in the spotlight in this new series, which will also feature Jo Brand and Julian Clary and Sam Thompson and Marvin Humes as celeb twosomes. Using advanced DNA technology and genealogy, the duos will unlock hidden secrets from their family trees as they discover amazing revelations about their descendants, fascinating stories of unknown ancestors, and meetings with newly-found living relatives. ‌ 'I do feel nervous,' says Hermione. 'I didn't sleep a wink, I woke up at 3am with my normal menopausal angst. I don't know anything about my family.' While Fay adds: 'I've been haunted by my ancestors. It will be interesting to see where the acting comes from.' Their first instruction is to go to St Paul's Cathedral, where Fay makes a discovery about an elite printer in her past. And in Chester-le-Street, Hermione finds out about a mining background and a prank that went terribly wrong, involving a loaded gun. Her ancestor accidentally killed his best friend, believing the gun was not loaded. Hermione says: 'I don't know how you keep breathing if you've killed another human being, your best friend.' ‌ However, she then discovers the ancestor went on to rescue men and boys during a mining tragedy and then campaigned for safer mines, being hailed a hero. 'I'm proud that I come from mining stock," Hermione adds. As Fay and Hermione's journey continues, they discover their ancestors also include a Swedish immigrant and a music hall manager. THE SAVOY: GREAT HOTELS THROUGH TIME, 5, 9pm Tucked away in an exclusive part of London's West End is The Savoy, the capital's first purpose-built luxury hotel - and its history is fascinating. When it opened nearly 140 years ago it was a groundbreaker. It was the first hotel in London to have electric lighting, ensuite bathrooms and 'ascending rooms' - also known as lifts! It also has the longest surviving cocktail bar in London and the theatrical lobby, with its marble floor and mahogany walls, sending you back to a different era. Actor Nigel Haver says: 'People go to LA for showbiz. You don't have to, you go to The Savoy.' Sweeping through the history of the place, this documentary explores how The Savoy has always been a favourite of the rich and famous, including Hollywood screen siren Marilyn Monroe and our own royalty, Princess Diana. ‌ She celebrated her 30th birthday party there with 15,000 balloons and Prince Charles famously didn't attend. Frank Sinatra, Winston Churchill and Vivien Leigh have dined there, French painter Claude Money has painted from a hotel balcony, fuelled by two cooked English breakfasts a day. Today, if you have a few grand for the night, you can stay in his suite and attempt your own version of a Monet painting. EMMERDALE, ITV1, 7.30pm The police reveal they believe Nate was killed on the day he was supposed to leave for Shetland and Tracy says she was at Vanessa's for that entire day. Later on, Vanessa looks like a deer in headlights when DS Walsh asks her to corroborate her sister's alibi in an official statement. Mandy and Paddy persuade Bear to go and see Liam about his insomnia. Kerry throws Pollard a surprise party but is horrified to hear he's planning to sell the barn. EASTENDERS, BBC1, 7.30pm It's Kat and Alfie's wedding day (again), but their concerns about Tommy and the video cast a shadow of their happiness. Alfie promises to talk to Tommy, but a series of mishaps distracts him. When Alfie also admits he has messed up several wedding tasks, Kat tells him she's having second thoughts. Will it go ahead? Denise tries to support Yolande and Patrick through the crisis in their relationship. Joel invites Tommy to come over to his place after the wedding.

Tammy Hembrow's husband Matt Zukowski lets off steam in a 'smash room' amid rumours their marriage is on the rocks: 'Probably needed a hug'

Tammy Hembrow and her husband Matt Zukowski have been fuelling rumours that their marriage is on the rocks for weeks. The fitness influencer even admitted she is going through some 'heavy stuff' in an emotional video on Tuesday. Now Matt, 29, has shared a carousel of photos and videos from an emotionally charged outing at a smash room. The Love Island alum admitted he 'probably needed a hug' in one video that showed him hurling a ceramic mug at a block of stone and smashing it into pieces. Smash rooms, also known as rage rooms, offer a safe space for people to vent their frustrations and relieve stress by smashing breakable objects. Matt set the video to the dulcet tones of Adele's 'Hometown Glory' – a ballad about Adele's love and appreciation for her hometown of West Norwood in London and specifically how she wanted to stay there despite being pressured to leave for university. The song captures the feeling of being rooted in a place and the longing to remain there, even amidst pressures to move on. Sources close to the couple previously told Daily Mail Australia the pair are 'on a break', with Matt relocating back to his native Melbourne while Tammy remained in Queensland with her three children. Matt also ramped up rumours that his whirlwind romance with Tammy may be over after posting footage of himself going to the movies solo. He took to Instagram to share a video from inside the cinema, revealing he was watching Death of a Unicorn alone — a move which came after fans noticed he was absent from Tammy's 31st birthday celebrations. On Wednesday, Matt attended back-to-back films in the cinema by himself and posted his reviews of 'good shark movie' Dangerous Animals and new horror flick The Ritual. 'I decided that I had a little bit of time so I decided to get a ticket to the new horror, The Ritual,' he said. Matt appeared to be carrying a box of alcohol in one arm while he filmed himself walking home from the cinemas. Meanwhile, his wife Tammy took her youngest child Posy to the park for a 'bestie date' and then went on a solo excursion to the beach with her three kids at sunset. The mum-of-three sat on the sand and watched the 'strawberry moon' while her children played in the shallows. Later, she thanked her fans for their support during this 'difficult' time. 'I am so grateful for all the sweet messages guys, I wish I could respond to every single one,' Tammy captioned an aesthetic snap of a leather-bound journal and a cup of hot tea on her bed. 'I genuinely wish how much you knew how much it actually means to me. 'Crazy feeling you have an online community of people you've never met but you just feel like they get you and are giving you a big hug. 'It's a hard thing to describe but you guys do that for me and I am so grateful for that.' Tammy said she is sending the 'biggest hugs' to 'anyone who needs it right now.' The cryptic post comes after the fitness influencer, 31, struggled to keep her composure in an emotional video on Tuesday. 'I just want to say thank you to everyone, I have been dealing with some heavy stuff. I feel like people can tell... I definitely don't like to pretend I am okay when I am not,' she said as she tried not to break down in tears. 'I feel like I have been trying to do that for a little while because I have so much I have to focus on. I just feel like pretending is doing me more harm than good.' Tammy added she would not go into detail about what she is going through, but asked her followers to be 'kind'. In the video, she was not wearing her wedding and engagement rings. Just hours earlier, Tammy shared a cryptic post saying 'when something feels off it is usually women's intuition'. Tammy and Matt began dating in mid-2023, after he slid into her DMs and were engaged just three months later.

EXCLUSIVE Major shake-up for new season of I'm A Celebrity Australia as insider reveals why Channel Ten will 'NEVER cancel the series'

In a first for the Aussie edition of I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, Channel 10 is pulling the plug on its beloved live format. The entire 2026 season is set to be pre-recorded in South Africa this November and aired in January to kick off the network's summer programming slate. And according to well-placed insiders, the shake-up has sent shockwaves through the local entertainment industry. 'This is a game-changer,' a network source told Daily Mail Australia. 'For years, the live element has scared off bigger names. Now that it's all pre-recorded, suddenly everyone wants in - we're talking names we never thought we could get.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The move has lifted the pressure on nervous celebs fearful of 'cancellation in real time', giving producers more control over the chaos that unfolds in the jungle. 'Live TV can be brutal. Now there's room to finesse things in the edit - ramp up the drama, clean up the awkward silences, and make sure no one's career gets torched before the final credits,' the insider added. The format switch isn't being driven by budget cuts either - despite whispers around the industry pointing fingers at Ten's looming Big Brother reboot and cost-shifting. 'If anything, this frees up cash to actually chase some proper A-listers,' the insider said. 'Not just someone who walked down the aisle on Married At First Sight five years ago and everyone completely forgot about.' And Ten has form when it comes to pulling surprise names out of the hat. Over the years, The Masked Singer has featured a string of international stars, from La Toya Jackson and Brian Austin Green to Charlotte Crosby, Destiny's Childs' Michelle Williams, and even Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton. 'There's definitely a hope that if we start landing bigger names, other platforms might take notice - streaming, international syndication, you name it,' one well-placed TV exec told us. But the reality behind keeping the show on air may come down to something far more practical - quotas. Under Australian media laws, all commercial networks are legally required to ensure at least 55 per cent of the content broadcast on their primary channels is locally made - a rule reaffirmed by the federal government in 2020. 'Honestly, I'm A Celeb is just cheap and cheerful content that ticks the box,' the source explained. 'It helps Ten meet their local content quota during a period when ratings don't matter. Unless they find another show that's just as budget and easy to churn out, I don't see it going anywhere.' The upcoming series is expected to begin filming in South Africa in November, with a slightly shorter post-production window allowing Ten to air the full season from January – right in time to kick off their 2025 line-up. Channel 10 has been approached for comment.
