Global cybercrime sweep seizes €3M, nets 20 suspects
Shafaq News/ International law enforcement agencies dismantled several of the world's most dangerous malware operations in a coordinated crackdown conducted between May 19 and 22.
According to a report from the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), authorities from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada collaborated under Operation Endgame 2.0—an extension of a similar 2024 campaign targeting cybercriminal botnets.
In total, 37 suspects were identified in the latest phase. German authorities also announced that 18 of the most prominent individuals involved will be listed on the EU's Most Wanted website beginning May 23, as part of ongoing public appeals.
Since the launch of Operation Endgame in 2024, a total of €21.2M in cryptocurrency has been seized.
The operation took down more than 300 servers and neutralized 650 domains linked to major malware variants including Bumblebee, Qakbot, Trickbot, HijackLoader, and WarmCookie.

Israeli forces injure civilian and breach border in Southern Lebanon
Shafaq News / Tensions flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border on Thursday as an Israeli airstrike wounded a civilian and ground forces crossed into Lebanese territory, escalating already fragile conditions in the region. Later the same day, Israeli forces were observed expanding earthworks and excavation activities in Meiss El-Jabal, in what Lebanese authorities described as a clear violation of the Blue Line and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls for respect of Lebanon's sovereignty and cessation of hostilities. Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army announced the discovery and dismantling of a camouflaged Israeli surveillance device near the town of Yaron, in the Bint Jbeil district. 'A specialized military unit found a hidden espionage device equipped with a camera,' the army said in a statement. 'It was safely dismantled.' Syria seizes missile cache bound for Lebanon
Shafaq News/ The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that security forces in the city of Al-Qusayr, in the western countryside of Homs, thwarted an arms smuggling attempt aimed at transporting weaponry into neighboring Lebanon. According to an official statement, internal security units intercepted a vehicle carrying a cache of military-grade weapons, including anti-tank guided missiles and 30mm caliber ammunition. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended, and the weapons were seized. The detainee has since been referred to the judiciary for appropriate legal action. Neither Hezbollah nor Lebanese authorities have issued any comments regarding the incident. This development comes amid ongoing tensions and intermittent clashes along the Syrian-Lebanese border — a region that has witnessed increased volatility following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime. Border areas, particularly in and around Al-Qusayr, have long been strategic corridors for arms smuggling, often linked to Hezbollah.
