Smash-and-grab robbery at Modesto jewelry store leads to four arrests, linked to other California cases
(FOX40.COM) — Four people were arrested for their alleged involvement in a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store in Modesto on Sunday.
Around 6 p.m., the Modesto Police Department responded to a robbery at Sai Jewelers, located at 2900 Standiford Avenue. Police said a red Mitsubishi rammed the store's front doors, which allowed multiple suspects—wearing hoodies, masks, and gloves—to enter the business and steal a large amount of jewelry before fleeing in several vehicles.

Just minutes before the robbery call, officers said they were investigating a stolen vehicle after it was flagged by the department's License Plate Reader (LPR) system. That investigation resulted in the arrest of four individuals. Inside their vehicle, officers found items similar to those used in the jewelry store robbery.
The stolen car and robbery are believed to be related, according to MPD. Additionally, police said the suspects may also be linked to similar robberies in Oakland, Alameda County, and Beverly Hills.
The four suspects arrested are Nasir Blocker, 19, of Oakland, Anton Crawford, 24, of Oakland, Gangster Lawson, 24, of El Cerrito, and Nehemiah Miller, 21, of Valley Springs. Each of them face charges related to robbery, conspiracy, and vehicle theft. All of their bails are set at $1,000,000, except for Blocker's, whose bail is set at $2,000,000.

Peoria police search for man after car theft at gunpoint
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria police are looking for a man who allegedly took a vehicle from another man at gunpoint late Thursday night. The incident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North Braves Court which is about a block away from the Carver Center, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they talked to the victim, who said he was parked in his vehicle when another person approached him. That person, who was armed, ordered him out of the vehicle and drove off, police said. The victim was not injured. Man arrested for child abuse in Oroville, endangering toddler in roadway
( — A 31-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for child abuse after he was witnessed endangering his child in the roadway and admitted to being under the influence of cocaine, according to the Oroville Police Department. More witnesses said that Bonilla put the child on the street, walked in and out of traffic, and described him to be 'flinging the child around like a rag doll.' It was also reported that the suspect was armed with a knife and made motions as if he were trying to hurt the baby, OPD said. A witness was eventually able to take the toddler away when Bonilla dropped them. OPD said Bonilla was exhibiting erratic behavior when they made contact and admitted to being under the influence of a large quantity of cocaine. Police discovered that the suspect had removed the toddler from their home. Feather Alert issued for Indigenous woman missing from Sacramento County
