UE's Logan Luebbers Palmer named MVC Freshman of the Week
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — For the first time in her collegiate career, freshman guard Logan Luebbers Palmer has earned the title of Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week.
Luebbers Palmer is the third Aces member to earn the title this season.
This comes after Luebbers Palmer put together double-digit performances on offense and also set three new career records while tying against two others against Bradley and Illinois State.
In the Aces' 55-45 win against Bradley, Luebbers Palmer shot 75% in 30 minutes of action and added two steals on the defensive end of the floor.
She continues her big offensive output against Illinois State, leading UE with a career-high 17 points.
The Aces and Luebbers Palmer will return to the court for their final three road games and UE begins two weeks of away games at Valparaiso on Friday, February 21.

How to watch Dallas Wings vs Las Vegas Aces: TV/stream info, preview, tip off time
The Dallas Wings travel to Las Vegas to take on the Las Vegas Aces tonight at 10 PM ET at the Michelob Ultra Arena. This is the first official matchup between the pair this season. During a May 2 preseason game, the Aces came out on top 112-78. The last time the two teams faced off during the 2024 season was back in September, when the Aces also won 98-84. Paige Bueckers is back, but Wings still struggling Sitting dead last in the Western Conference, the Wings (1-10) are coming off a six-game losing streak, their worst start to the season since 2012. The Wings' last win came during a 109-87 game against the Connecticut Sun on May 27. On Wednesday night, they fell 93-80 to the Phoenix Mercury, despite the eagerly awaited return of Paige Bueckers, who missed four games due to the WNBA concussion protocol/illness. Bueckers put up a historic performance, scoring a career-high 35 points in her return (22 in the first quarter) and became the fourth Wings rookie to reach 30-plus points in a single game. Bueckers now joins Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark as the only two rookies in WNBA history to record a game with 35 points and five 3-pointers made. She also became the third player in WNBA history to record a 35-point game within their first 10 games, joining Ace's A'ja Wilson & former Chicago Sky player, Chennedy Carter. However, the Wings are still struggling on both ends of the court, going 5-of-19 from the 3 vs the Mercury. Besides Bueckers, the rest of the Wings went 16 of 48 (33%) from the field. Mary Omatiga, A'ja Wilson doubtful for Aces, who look to end losing streak Fourth in the Western Conference, the Aces (4-4) are also fresh off a loss on Wednesday night, falling 97-89 to the Los Angeles Sparks for their first game in a three-game home stand. They're on a two-game losing streak, also falling 95-68 to the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday. Against the Sparks, Aces fought back from a 20-point deficit, with Chelsea Gray putting up a season-high 28 points and Jackie Young tied her career-high of 34 points, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Aces star A'Ja Wilson left the game with a head injury during the third quarter and her status is doubtful for the matchup tonight. Before she left the court, Wilson went 9 of 10 at the free-throw line to finish with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists in 28 minutes. Iowa baseball lands bullpen arm through transfer portal
Iowa baseball lands bullpen arm through transfer portal As the long and winding offseason continued for Iowa baseball, the Hawkeyes made some moves on Thursday by gaining the commitment of former Illinois State bullpen arm Joe Husak through the transfer portal. While the right-hander had a standout sophomore season with the Redbirds in 2024, posting a 4-2 record and a 2.55 ERA over 42.1 innings, his 2025 campaign saw a bit of a downturn as his ERA landed at 6.11 in 28.0 innings with an 0-2 record. During his 2024 season with Illinois State, Husek was named Honorable Mention to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team and closed out his tenure as the second all-time leader in saves with 14. Before his two seasons at Illinois State, the senior native of Cambridge, Iowa, made a previous stop at South Dakota State in 2022. For Iowa's sake, the addition could be extremely helpful if the Hawkeyes can get the 2024 version of Husek next season as the closer has shown the potential to be consistent and reliable. With the Hawkeyes roster still somewhat in flux, the additions and subtractions to the team will be something to watch as the offseason moves along. USMNT standout Michael Bradley named Red Bulls II coach
Longtime U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley was named the head coach of MLS NEXT Pro side New York Red Bulls II on Thursday. It is the first head coaching position for Bradley, 37, who worked on his father Bob Bradley's coaching staff with the Norwegian club Stabaek from 2023-24. Bradley will replace Ibrahim Sekagya, who was promoted Wednesday to a spot as an assistant coach for the Red Bulls' first team in MLS. It is a homecoming of sorts for Michael Bradley, who began his professional career in 2004 with the MetroStars, a forerunner of the current New York Red Bulls of MLS. "I couldn't be more excited to come back to where my professional playing career began," Bradley said. "This is a dream opportunity as a young coach. I'm looking forward to working every day with this talented group of players, and I'll give everything to help them take the next step in their careers. "I'm thankful to the club for the opportunity and can't wait to get started." Bradley played with Toronto FC in MLS from 2014-23, recording 16 goals in 258 matches and earning three All-Star nods. He earned 151 caps with the U.S. men's national team from 2006-19, scoring 17 goals and participating in the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. He was the U.S. Soccer Player of the Year in 2015. Bradley's first match as head coach of Red Bulls II will be on June 21 against Carolina Core FC in High Point, N.C. "We are excited to welcome Michael to the club," said New York Red Bulls sporting director Julian de Guzman. "He had an incredible playing career and is one of the greatest American soccer players ever. "We see him as a promising coaching talent and look forward to supporting his development as he transitions to a career behind the touchline." --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
