Charleston native, College of Charleston student advance after winning ‘The Voice' battle rounds
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Two women with Charleston connections are moving on to the knockouts after winning their battle rounds on 'The Voice' Monday night.
Page Mackenzie, Charleston native
32-year-old Page Mackenzie impressed coach and country star Kelsea Ballerini with her rendition of Morgan Wallen's 'Lies, Lies, Lies.'
The performance led to Mackenzie being named the winner over teammate Robert Hunter.
'Page has some power to her voice. She also knows how to reign it in and then open it back up and break the walls down,' Ballerini said after the round.
In her blind audition, Mackenzie earned two chair turns while singing 'Hell on Wheels' by Pistol Annies, one from Ballerini and the other from Judge Michael Bublé.
Although she was born and raised in Charleston, Mackenzie moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2016 to further her music career.
After moving, Mackenzie landed roles opening for stars like Lauren Alaina, Kenney Chesney, and fellow Lowcountry native Darius Rucker. She has also performed on stages across Charleston, such as the Music Farm, Windjammer, and Sottile Theater.
Grace Miller-Moody, College of Charleston student
College of Charleston student Grace Miller Moody also clinched her spot in the knockouts while performing 'Use Somebody' by Kings of Leon.
Moody beat out teammate Tori Templet to advance.

'Honestly, Grace-Miller, you stood up to this beautifully,' Coach Adam Levine said during his post-performance review.
Levine added later, 'Grace-Miller has this heart-wrenching little break in her voice that's kind of her power as a singer. I kind of just love hearing it.'
Moody chose Levine to be her coach after receiving a four-chair turn in her blind audition, which featured 'Sunday Morning' by Levine's own band, Maroon 5.
She shared that she chose Levine due to her special connection with the band.
'The importance behind that song is that my little brother had cancer. He was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of seven, and we all, actually after he got in remission, went to a Maroon 5 concert,' Moody said in an interview with News 2.
When she's not filming for The Voice, you can catch Moody performing at local gigs around Charleston. She plays at Share House every Tuesday starting at 8:30 p.m.
The knockout rounds for season 27 will begin Monday, April 8.

Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Carnival kicks off
SHARON, Pa. (WKBN)- Thursday is the start of Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Carnival in Sharon. This is the second year it's hosting this event. This event is named Coops Carnival. It's a Chicken4Charity event that raises money for various community causes, and it plans to grow bigger every year. There's plenty of new activities at this year's event, including chicken bingo, kids chicken calling contest, winner winner chicken dinner raffle, community bingo, a dunk tank, and new midway rides. There will also be games and concessions. The restaurant will also be open to those who wish to walk in. Organizers say this event is unique because of the number of nonprofits invited to help raise funds for their cause. 'You're going to see a lot of different faces and representatives of places in our community that you can come down and support them. We're serving as the hub as this main venue that you can come and enjoy all of those and support many different businesses and organizations in our community,' said Taylor Sherman of Quaker Steak & Lube. Chicken wings are one of the most popular foods at Quaker Steak so you can expect plenty of chicken-themed activities. This includes Cock-a-doodle Brew House, which will be a wine and beer garden; a chicken-themed ride; and Quaker Steak's mascot, Coop, will be at the event. On top of rides, games, and food, there will be entertainment that will be on hand. There will be live music today through Saturday, including Tarra Layne from season 11 of The Voice, who will be performing tomorrow night at 7 p.m. A DJ will be coming in on Sunday to entertain the crowd. Organizers say the weather will not get in their way of the fun this weekend and say it's going to be a good time for anyone who stops by. 'We're expecting to have a great turnout, hoping that the weather holds off for us, and works in our favor. But we're not planning to have any rain that slows us down from our fun. So this being a four-day event, we know that there will be plenty of graduations happening, summer events kicking off. So any day that may fit your schedule, we have something for you,' Sherman said. Jessie J will have surgery for early breast cancer. ‘I'm highlighting the word 'early''
Singer Jessie J has breast cancer. Early breast cancer, mind you, and she's taking care of it as soon as possible. 'I'm highlighting the word 'early,'' she said Tuesday via video on Instagram. 'Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on the word early.'' The 'Bang Bang' artist also joked that it was 'a very dramatic way to get a boob job.' The pop star and coach on the Australian version of 'The Voice' has been undergoing tests in private, she said. In a little less than two weeks, after a radio station-sponsored music mini-festival at Wembley Stadium in London, she will undergo surgery. 'I just want to [exhale] and just let you guys know, it wasn't something I'd planned, but yeah, I'm getting to keep my nipples,' she said. 'That's good. It's a weird topic and a weird situation and I know that the press are gonna say crazy stuff.' It was the expected media attention that held up her announcement for a bit, she said, because she had been going 'back and forth' about whether to reveal her situation, knowing that celebrity outlets were likely to turn 'early' into something much more ominous. She also said she was 'not processing it' because she was working so hard. Andie MacDowell Calls Out Double Standards Around Aging
Andie MacDowell was 31 years old when she landed her breakout role in the 1989 movie Sex, Lies, and Videotape, with the star going on to have a glittering acting career with other huge films including Groundhog Day, and Four Weddings And A Funeral. And Andie has certainly switched up the kinds of characters she plays in recent years. In 2021, she played her real-life daughter Margaret Qualley's eccentric onscreen mom in the Netflix series Maid, and she has played grandmother Del in the fantasy show The Way Home since 2023. Now, a two-year-old interview with Andie has resurfaced on social media, with the star being praised for how she articulately called out the double standards that male and female actors face as they age. Speaking at Cannes in 2023, Andie — who was 65 years old at the time — explained that men are 'allowed to get older' in the industry, whereas women see their job offers dry up. 'Why do we have this expectation for women to not age? You wouldn't question Hugh Grant or George Clooney!' she begins in the resurfaced clip. 'I feel debonair. I'm sorry, I do. I feel that. I feel just like a man, I do. I feel fabulous.' 'Why have men been glorified as they age? I've always talked about this, and I think it really is a psychological thing we have imprinted in us,' Andie went on, before referencing her gray hair.
