Yahoo05-06-2025
SHARON, Pa. (WKBN)- Thursday is the start of Quaker Steak & Lube Summer Carnival in Sharon.
This is the second year it's hosting this event.
This event is named Coops Carnival. It's a Chicken4Charity event that raises money for various community causes, and it plans to grow bigger every year.
There's plenty of new activities at this year's event, including chicken bingo, kids chicken calling contest, winner winner chicken dinner raffle, community bingo, a dunk tank, and new midway rides.
There will also be games and concessions. The restaurant will also be open to those who wish to walk in.
Organizers say this event is unique because of the number of nonprofits invited to help raise funds for their cause.
'You're going to see a lot of different faces and representatives of places in our community that you can come down and support them. We're serving as the hub as this main venue that you can come and enjoy all of those and support many different businesses and organizations in our community,' said Taylor Sherman of Quaker Steak & Lube.
Chicken wings are one of the most popular foods at Quaker Steak so you can expect plenty of chicken-themed activities. This includes Cock-a-doodle Brew House, which will be a wine and beer garden; a chicken-themed ride; and Quaker Steak's mascot, Coop, will be at the event.
On top of rides, games, and food, there will be entertainment that will be on hand. There will be live music today through Saturday, including Tarra Layne from season 11 of The Voice, who will be performing tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
A DJ will be coming in on Sunday to entertain the crowd. Organizers say the weather will not get in their way of the fun this weekend and say it's going to be a good time for anyone who stops by.
'We're expecting to have a great turnout, hoping that the weather holds off for us, and works in our favor. But we're not planning to have any rain that slows us down from our fun. So this being a four-day event, we know that there will be plenty of graduations happening, summer events kicking off. So any day that may fit your schedule, we have something for you,' Sherman said.
The event kicks off today and will run through Sunday. The festivities will start at 5 p.m.

Let the Games Begin: Michael Bublé Gears Up For Upcoming Season 28 of ‘The Voice' By Showing Off His Reba McEntire Socks

What would The Voice be without the incessant friendly trash-talking and mind games among the coaches? Two months before the two-hour season 28 premiere on Sept. 22, the gang were back on set for a preview of the upcoming go-round in a one-minute video that dropped on Monday (July 28). 'We're so excited!' Reba McEntire sang as she moseyed her way to set in the clip while last season's winner, Michael Bublé, complimented her baby blue outfit and whispered 'it's so good to be back. I'm so happy to be here with you' into a boom mike. The energy was palpable as the coaches hugged staffers, and each other, with McEntire gushing, 'got the band back!,' and announcing that 'now the party can start' when Snoop Dogg brought her in for a warm squeeze. Before they hear a note, though, Bublé got in some light teasing on McEntire, pulling up his pant leg to reveal what he described as 'the finest socks ever. Look at how beautiful they're smiling at me,' he said while showing off the stockings printed with McEntire's face. ''Hey Mike, I'm gonna beat you,'' he added in his approximation of the country superstar's Southern accent. 'She'll eat you alive!' Horan promised of the claws-bearing McEntire, who bragged that she gets to 'tell them what to do, like a big sister.' The clip ends with Bublé realizing his 'dream come true,' with the Canadian crooner pulling out his hockey stick on the set and volleying around with a tennis ball. New episodes of The Voice will air on Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and stream the next day on Peacock. Watch The Voice season 28 preview clip below. Shawn Mendes Brings Out Niall Horan For a Run Through ‘This Town' During London Show: ‘I'll Remember This For a Long Time'

Shawn Mendes had a very special treat up his sleeve for fans at his O2 Arena show in London on Saturday night (Aug. 16). The singer brought out his old pal former One Direction member Niall Horan for a run through the latter's debut solo single, 2016's 'This Town.' In his first stage appearance since the death of his former bandmate Liam Payne in October 2024, Horan was greeted with ear-piercing screams by the fans in the arena, as evidenced by a video of the special moment posted by Mendes. 'Everybody please welcome Mr. Niall Horan to the stage,' Mendes said casually as bedlam broke out. 'If the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you/ Drive highways and byways to be there with you,' they sang while smiling at each other and plucking out the song's melody on their guitars. 'Over and over the only truth/ Everything comes back to you.' 'I love you… and I love this guy. Take care of him,' Horan grinned as he pointed to his friend amid the screams of joy. In the caption to his video of the duet, Mendes wrote, 'I'll remember this for a long time [heart emoji]. Thank you so much London.' Mendes' world tour will continue on Wednesday (Aug. 20) with a show at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, followed by four more European shows before a return to North America on Sept. 25 at TD Garden in Boston. Horan is gearing up for the return of The Voice on Sept. 22, where he will be in the big red chair again alongside castmates Reb McEntire, Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg for season 28. 6 Shows You'd Probably Forgotten Love Is Blind UK Host Emma Willis Once Fronted

Emma Willis has now been a staple on British TV for more than 20 years. The Birmingham-born presenter was previously best known for hosting shows like Big Brother, The Voice and The Circle – until she and her husband Matt Willis began fronting Netflix's UK iteration of Love Is Blind, that is. While you've probably watched her on some of the UK's biggest reality shows over the years (not to mention This Morning, where she's become a regular face), there are plenty of other presenting gigs throughout her extensive resume you might have completely forgotten about. Here are the ones we dug through the archives to find, in honour of Love Is Blind UK's second season... The Hot Desk (2008-2014) Emma got her start on music TV in the early 2000s, presenting segments for MTV as well as the UK version of the iconic TRL. In, Emma joined another British music show called The Hot Desk, whose other hosts included the likes of All Saints' Nicole Appleton and Melanie Blatt, Laura Whitmore, Sarah Jane Crawford and Alice Levine. At the end of each interview, they'd asked the featured celebrity to sign the 'Hot Desk' with a pen (isn't that just oh-so 2010s?). One of Emma's biggest interviews was with a young and bright-eyed One Direction in 2011, a year after they came third on The X Factor. Live From Studio Five (2010) In the heyday of gossip mags and celebrity interview panels, there were plenty of shows out there like Live From Studio Five. Emma joined a line-up of co-presenters – including Brian Dowling and Ian Wright – who would conduct interviews and discuss topical issues, celebrity gossip and big news stories. However it didn't do too well with ratings, and ultimately came off the air after around a year and a half. Girlfri3nds (2012) Even as far back as 2012, Emma was clearly discovering that she had a bit of a knack when it came to reality TV. She presented two seasons of this British show about single women looking for love. The format saw three single women search for their ideal guy out of 100 auditioning men. It sounds like this was good practice for when she'd get the call from Love Is Blind all these years later. Prize Island (2013) Emma co-presented this sunny series alongside Alexander Armstrong back in 2013. Prize Island placed four pairs on an Island (obv) off the coast of Mozambique, with each team participating in rounds of games to uncover prizes, ranging from a TV to a luxury holiday. At the time, there were reports that it might not air at all, after it looked set to rival (ironically) The Voice. The show ultimately only last six episodes across one season. The Brit Awards (2017) Do you remember that time Emma hosted a whole Brit Awards? Honestly, we'd kind of forgotten too. Back in 2017 she took to the stage for the UK's biggest night in music alongside co-host Dermot O'Leary. Dermot and Emma were brought in as somewhat last-minute replacements when the night's original host, Michael Bublé, was forced to back out due to his son's illness. That year's Brits saw One Direction, Little Mix, The 1975 and more take home awards. Emma Willis: Delivering Babies (2019) This one marked a huge change for the presenter as she swapped reality TV and game shows for a hospital maternity unit. Across the course of four seasons, she worked on a labour ward working NHS hours while training to be a maternity care assistant. Whether she was making beds, cleaning floors or offering support during births, it made for pretty emotional viewing. The first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK season two are streaming now on Netflix.
