India Today24-05-2025

Actor Triptii Dimri is set to star opposite Prabhas in the highly anticipated pan-India film 'Spirit', directed by 'Animal' filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The announcement comes in the wake of reports confirming Deepika Padukone's exit from the project. According to sources close to the production, creative differences and scheduling demands led to the parting of ways between Padukone and the filmmakers. Allegedly, Deepika had quoted a fee in the range of 30 - 40 crore, requested an 8-hour workday, and declined to dub for the Telugu version. These were the factors that reportedly led to a fallout with the director.advertisementWith the search for a new leading lady underway, Triptii Dimri, who shot to fame with her performance in 'Animal', has now officially joined 'Spirit' as the female lead opposite Prabhas. This marks her first on-screen pairing with the 'Baahubali' actor.
Confirming this, Dimri posted on Instagram writing, 'Still sinking in. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga honoured to be a part of your vision.'

Mainak Bhaumik's film brings together a haunting tale

Ishan Mazumder stars as Nil in Mainak Bhaumik's genre-bending film, Batshorik, alongside Ritabhari Chakraborty and Shatabdi Roy. The film explores love, responsibility, and hidden burdens within a horror framework. Ishan describes his character as a grounded man who supports his family, particularly his wife and sister, navigating complex emotional landscapes. Actor Ishan Mazumder is part of Mainak Bhaumik's film Batshorik a genre-defying film that blends the chilling elements of horror with rich emotional depth where the actor is paired opposite Ritabhari Chakraborty . The film also stars Shatabdi Roy in a pivotal character. Ishan said, 'Joining the team for this film was a dream come true. Mainak's work has always inspired me, and getting that call felt surreal. This film has been an incredibly special journey,' he shares. At the heart of Batshorik is Nil — played by Ishan— a grounded, empathetic man in his late 30s who anchors his family with quiet strength and emotional intelligence. His wife, Bristi (Ritabhari), is an insightful and emotionally perceptive partner, often acting as Nil's confidante. Their relationship reflects a calm, supportive dynamic, though Bristi occasionally worries that Nil sacrifices too much of himself. The emotional core of the story also rests on Nil's bond with his elder sister Swapna Chatterjee (Shatabdi). Once fiercely independent, Swapna now leans heavily on Nil for reassurance and support, often calling on him in moments of vulnerability that reflect deeper personal unrest. "While B atshorik is set within the framework of horror, it rises above genre conventions. The film is intelligently crafted and emotionally layered — a story of love, responsibility, and the unseen burdens we carry," informed Ishan.
